There are several tools, frameworks, and algorithms to solve information sharing from multiple tasks and robots. Some applications such as ROS, Kafka, and MAVLink cover most problems when using operating systems. However, they cannot be used for particular problems that demand optimization of resources. Therefore, the objective was to design a solution to fit the resources of small vehicles. The methodology consisted of defining the group of vehicles with low performance or are not compatible with high-level known applications; design a reduced, modular, and compatible architecture; design a producer-consumer algorithm that adjusts to the simultaneous localization and communication of multiple vehicles with UWB sensors; validate the operation with an interception task. The results showed the feasibility of performing architecture for embedded systems compatible with other applications managing information through the proposed algorithm allowed to complete the interception task between two vehicles. Another result was to determine the system’s efficiency by scaling the memory size and comparing its performance. The work’s contributions show the areas of opportunity to develop architectures focusing on the optimization of robot resources and complement existing ones.

This paper proposes an approach for optimization of on-chip memory size in data dominated embedded systems. Large amount of array processing is being involved in this category. In order to produce a cost effective system, efficient designing of memory module is quite critical. The memory module configuration being selected by the designer should be well suitable for the application. In this regard, this paper presents a methodology for effective optimization of on-chip memory. For sensitive applications involving large array processing, the entire processing has to be done using embedded modules. While using such module s, care should be taken to meet optimized profile for the design metrics. With help of loop transformation technique, relatively a good amount of memory size requirement is reduced for the arrays. This approach results in a very close memory estimate and an effective optimization. This methodology can be further extended to meet the high level memory optimization applications based on cache characteristics. Speech processing front end mechanism is implemented and shows that this approach gives up to an achievement 61.3% reduction of overall system memory requirement over the estimation approach. Results are provided in terms of comparison of the two approaches of memory estimation and optimization with respect to both of the program and data segments.

Abstract: Many factors have an impact toward high and low performance of employees in private companies. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of motivation and work discipline on employee performance at PT. Kodeco Agrojaya Mandiri Kebun 1 Danau Biru Estate Saring Sungai Bubu Village, Kusan Hilir District, Tanah Bumbu Regency. Research Methods using correlational research. Types of data are primary and secondary data using questionnaires and documentation. The total population is 547 people. With the number of respondents 137 employees of PT. Kodeco Agrojaya Mandiri Kebun 1 Danau Biru Estate Saring Sungai Bubu Village, Kusan Hilir District, Tanah Bumbu Regency. Research results show that motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. So, if motivation is carried out and applied properly by all employees, the employee's performance will also increase. Work discipline also has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. So, if the employee has a high level of discipline in the work then the performance will also be achieved optimally. Motivation and work discipline simultaneously have an influence on employee performance. So the higher the motivation and the employee's discipline, the employee's performance will increase.

As various theoretical and practical details of using membrane computing models have been presented throughout the book, certain details might be hard to find at a later time. For this reason, this chapter provides the reader with a set of checkmark topics that a developer should address in order to implement a robot controller using a membrane computing model. The topics discussed address areas such as: (1) robot complexity, (2) number of robots, (3) task complexity, (4) simulation versus real world execution, (5) sequential versus parallel implementations. This chapter concludes with an overview of future research directions. These directions offer possible solutions for several important concerns: the development of complex generic algorithms that use a high level of abstraction, the design of swarm algorithms using a top-down (swarm-level) approach and ensuring the predictability of a controller by using concepts such as those used in real-time operating systems.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to offer an alternative explanation for inconclusive results in the existing literature on the information sharing-firm performance link by examining a moderated mediation model in which operations capabilities mediate the interactive effects of information sharing and market intelligence responsiveness on firm performance within a supply chain context. Drawing on the indirect view of dynamic capability theory, the authors propose that information sharing redeploys and reconfigures operations capabilities, thus leading to superior firm performance, even with a high level of market intelligence responsiveness. Design/methodology/approach The hypotheses were tested using hierarchical regression and bootstrapping methods with a sample of 154 Chinese manufacturing firms. A survey-based, two-informant design was used to collect data. Findings The results revealed that operations capabilities fully mediate the relationship between information sharing and firm performance. The information sharing-operations capabilities link is positively moderated by market intelligence responsiveness. Moreover, operations capabilities positively mediate the interactive effects of information sharing and responsiveness on performance. Originality/value The study shifts the research focus from the moderating effect of market intelligence responsiveness in the information sharing-performance link to the interactive effects between information sharing and responsiveness on performance via operations capabilities, thus offering a finer-grained picture of the essential information sharing-performance link. To the best of our knowledge, this study is among the first to advocate and substantiate the theoretical claim that even with a high level of responsiveness, a firm’s performance relies on its operations capabilities, which are renewed and enhanced by information sharing, rather than on information sharing itself.

Information sharing and interoperability are key ingredients for any system that participates in Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and wants to communicate and exchange information with other partners. Although there are many technologies that support interoperability, there is apparently no relevant research about how to extract and aggregate the requirements of a system, the necessary architecture components and tools regarding interoperability. This chapter reviews the principles and the constraints that affect architecture design and the research efforts about interoperability infrastructures, and proposes a set of architecture components and tools that can enable, support and maintain interoperability in heterogeneous, dynamic, and constantly changing environments.
