The article considers the calculation and spatial models of buildings with cylindrical-slab-guy covering and various constructive arrangement of the guy: radial, fan, parallel-transverse, parallel-longitudinal and longitudinal-transverse (cross). The calculations have been performed using the FEMAP / NX NASTRAN software package (PC), taking into account the geometric nonlinearity of the deformation. The novelty of the research is a combined design of cylindrical-slab-guy covering. This is a complex of different types of coverings, overlapping large spans of buildings: the cylindrical shell of zero Gaussian curvature and the flat slab are located in the middle part; symmetric guy coverings are located at the edges. The aim of the study is to assess the effect of guy system with various arrangement of guys on the stress-strain condition of cylindrical-slab-guy covering. The objective of the study is to provide a comparative analysis of the stress-strain condition of complex design of cylindrical-slab-guy covering and to select the optimal structural solution of the guy system under the same conditions (geometric parameters of the building, external loads and boundary fixings)

Prefabricated reinforced concrete structures are widely used to speed up the erection of structures in construction practice; they are connected during installation by means of embedded core elements, subsequently monolithic with concrete. Under the influence of external loads, axial tensile and transverse shear forces arise in such nodal joints, which are often neglected in the static analysis of structures. In turn, this can lead to the development of ultimate deformations in the assembly, to a change in the conditions for fixing the structure, and, as a consequence, to their premature collapse. This article discusses the effect of the axial pulling force in the reinforcing bar on the stress-strain condition (VAT) of the concrete mass surrounding it. To solve this problem, a numerical experiment is carried out in the ANSYS 19.0 Workbench package, in which the adhesion of fiberglass and metal reinforcement to concrete is simulated. It allows establishing the nature of the stress distribution in the core embedment area.

A cestode, Neoskrjabinolepis (Neoskrjabinolepidoides) gvosdevi sp. nov., is described from the tundra shrew Sorex tundrensis Merriam, 1900 in Kazakhstan. The new species has ten rostellar hooks, 0.40-0.43 mm long, with claw-liked blade with crooked middle part. It can be distinguished from other species in the subgenus by the cylindrical cirrus short, 0.45-0.50 mm long, and armed with different types of spines; the basal part covered with numerous small, rosethornshaped spines, and the middle and distal parts armed with fine, needle-shaped spines.

This article looks at the known foundational results on spatial models of elections. The issues of equilibrium existence, the characterization of equilibria (in terms of their social welfare properties), and the distance between equilibrium policy and positions of the candidates are examined. It then discusses the results of the case where candidates are able to give precise predictions of voters' behaviour precisely; the article also introduces the ‘Downsian model’. The article looks at two models of probabilistic voting, before finally moving on to consider the most common objective functions that are used to model the electoral incentives of different types of candidates.

In this article the results of stress-strain state investigation for composite airplane wing stringer with different layers stacking structures are presented. As an object of research, a stringer made of composite carbon with V-shaped cross-section is considered. Due to the stress-strain state analysis of various stringer structures, the most effective structure for stringer layers stacking is selected, both in the view of providing the most rigidity and optimal perception by the stringer the field of external loads, which are most typical for the conditions of its operation.

Submitted by generalized experience entry longwall into pre- driven recovery room (PDRR) in foreign and Russian mine.Submitted by research characteristic state parameters of the roof at failed entry. Give a classification of roof collapse at the entrance longwall into PDRR.On the example of longwall panel 5а-10-18 mine Raspadskaya reviewed formation process of stress-strain condition in area for PDRR. Has been modeled process of entry longwall into PDRR in the conditions of heavy roof. Determine the expected load on the anchor and standing support, installed in the PDRR. Assessed the load on the longwall shield. When calculating the loads was taken into account the following parameters: width pre-driven recovery room, number of standing support in the PDRR and especially its placement, the rate of entry longwall into PDRR.

Slackline is a new and rapidly expanding sport, which has had minimal research published on it in terms of sport physics and engineering. Slackline dynamics strongly depend upon the elastic response of used webbing, typically made of polyester or nylon. Depending on the stress and strain rates applied, polymers are known to exhibit a visco-elastic behavior characterized by hysteresis effects. Through a series of carefully executed experiments, this study examined the behavior of slackline webbing under dynamic loads to determine the departures from the respective static response (stress–strain curves). Such knowledge is fundamental for the accurate simulation of slackline dynamics, so as to predict peak forces and aid safe rigging. The results demonstrate that the effective modulus during leash falls was significantly higher than the slope of the respective stress–strain curve, indicating a stiffer response. Also, the effective modulus increased with the applied pretension. Using the moduli determined experimentally for the rigged slacklines with different types of webbing, the respective leash falls were simulated numerically with high accuracy. A standardized test is proposed, to be adopted by the International Slackline Association and slackline webbing manufacturers, is proposed in order to provide key information on the response of each webbing available in the market under typical dynamic loads, similar to the “impact force” test designed for dynamic ropes by the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation.

ABSTRACTKnowledge of the mechanical and petrographic properties of limestone rocks is an important issue to different areas of science and engineering. Sedimentary limestone rock is one of the most abundant materials in the Peninsula of Yucatán used for decorative and building construction. This work studies the petrographic, mineralogical, and physical properties of three different types of limestone slabs of the state of Yucatán.
