This case study paper reviews ground water pollution to agriculture soil due to the natural shale value of heavy metals in soil system. Thus, untreated industrial effluents can cause an environmental threat to ground water resources and affects soil quality and agricultural plant productivity. To achieve unpolluted wastewater discharge into receiving water bodies, careful planning, adequate and suitable treatment, regular monitoring and appropriate legislations are necessary. Parameters that may be tested include temperature, pH, turbidity, salinity, nitrates, TDS, Captions, Anions and phosphates. Rapid Increase in population, Construction of residential complexes and wide spread Industrialization in Namakkal Town has drastically reduced the land area for wastewater disposal Groundwater pollution occurs when untreated or partially treated Industrial waste water are discharged on to the land or used for Irrigation, enabling the waste to migrate down the water table through soil. Rapid industrialization and use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture are causing deterioration of water quality and depletion of aquatic biota. This aim of the case study was to assess the quality of the ground water and the impacts of the Municipal wastewater. This study will be very helpful to under-stand the impact/evaluation of the rate of dumping of effluent water in ground water and impact on the quality of water in terms of irrigation and the impacts onto the environment.

The present paper is aimed towards the assessment of heavy metal contamination of agricultural soil due to irrigation with contaminated ground water affected by textile industrial effluents at Panipat city in India. Samples of ground water and irrigated soils from textile industrial area were analyzed for various heavy metals, viz. Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu, Cd, Pb and Zn, using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. Metal transfer factors from ground water to irrigated agricultural soil and from soil to ground water were calculated for heavy metals. The findings deal with the distribution of heavy metals in ground water of industrial area and irrigated agricultural soil. Transfer factors for heavy metals from effluent to ground water were observed to be 0.436, 1.180, 6.461, 2.401, 2.790, 3.178 and 0.634 for Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn respectively. These were found to be very high from ground water to agriculture soil due to the natural shale value of heavy metals in soil system. Thus, untreated industrial effluents can cause an environmental threat to ground water resources and affects soil quality and agricultural plant productivity.

In view of understanding the impact of effluents and on the occurrence and distribution of macrobenthic organisms, an investigation has been carried out for a period of 8 months from October 2006 to May 2007 in the nearshore water of Thannirbhavi and Chitrapur receiving treated industrial effluents and Bengre coast having estuarine influences. The quality composition of benthic organism revealed the presence of hydroids such as Obeliasp,Cordylophorasp and companularia sp. Polychaetes belonging to 15 diferent families have been identified and their distribution revealed variation with respect to the type of  the effluents.  24 different types of molluscss have been identified and their occurrence and distribution was found to be related to type of sediment and the quality of the effluents. Bulks of crustaceans were formed mainly due to species of Gammarus, Caprellids and Tanaidaceans. The great abundance and diversity of benthic organisms was observed in the Thannirbhavi receiving effluents from a fertilizer industry, when compare to the Chitrapur receiving treated effluents from a dye industry and an oil refinery industry. Silty-clayey sediment harbored higher density of polychaetes where as sandy-silty sediment supported greater abundance of molluscs.

The industrial discharge carries significant level of contaminants to the surface water and ground water. Whereas the quality of freshwater is very vital because is highly use by human for drinking, bathing, agriculture and other needs. The presence of contaminants from industries within the water may reduce the yield of crops and the growth of plants; it is also harmful to the aquatic living organisms, it alters the surface water and ground water quality. Industrial pollution is one of the major factors causing degradation of the environment, affecting the water we use, the air we breathe and the soil we live on. Hence, the pollution of water is arguably the most serious threat to current human welfare. This paper review elucidates reasons of contamination of surface water by the industrial effluents, highlights major causes of ground water pollution; the work also indicates some industrial discharges and their contaminants.

The textile dyeing units operating in Tiruppur have provided Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plants and the system has been in operation for the past ten years. Data on the quality of ground and surface water available with various government agencies such as Public Works Department, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and Central Ground Water Board for the past ten years were collected for the study. Visual MODFLOW, a mathematical Model was used as a tool in the study for analysing the migration of contaminants in the ground water. The parameter, Total Dissolved solids (TDS) was used to represent the contamination level in the ground water. The study area, covering the cluster of industries upstream and downstream of Tiruppur Corporation was selected, and using the data for the period from 2008 to 2017, the Model was validated. The validated Model was used to make prediction of ground water quality for the next ten years under different scenario.

Introduction: In order to have a good assessment of the quality of maternal and child health care, it is essential that there is up-to-date and reliable information. Objective: To evaluate the impact of the implementation of a computerized database of clinical processes in the admission, archive and medical statistics section, of Maternity hospital Irene Neto/Lubango-Angola. Methodology: A descriptive study with a quantitative and qualitative approach to carry out a retrospective case study deliveries and newborns, records from 2014 to 2017. Final considerations: The implementation of this project may contribute to the improvement of clinical management support management of the hospital as well as facilitating access to information for research and scientific production.
