The paper presents a concept of automatic control system recovering an aircraft from the spin using fuzzy logic controller. Control system causing: stall, spin, spin recovery, dive recovery and switching on classic heading and altitude autopilots, was created in Matlab – Simulink software, which was connected to the flight simulator X-Plane. During tests developed control algorithms were checked and tuned. At the end graphs of flight parameters recorded during simulation were analyzed, and properties of designed control system were evaluated. Particular attention was paid to the design of a fuzzy logic controller stopping autorotation of the aircraft. On the output it controlled the position of the rudder, while on input it received a signal being a function of the angular velocity of the aircraft.

The roller and sieve machines most commonly used in Russia for the post-harvest processing of root and tuber crops and onions have a number of disadvantages, the main one being a decrease in the quality of sorting due to the contamination of working bodies, which increases the quantity of losses during sorting and storage. To obtain high-quality competitive production, it is necessary to combine a number of technological operations during the sorting process, such as dividing the material into classes and fractions by quality and size, as well as identifying and removing damaged products. In order to improve the quality of sorting of root tubers and onions by size, it is necessary to ensure the development of an automatic control system for operating and technological parameters, the use of which will eliminate manual sorting on bulkhead tables in post-harvest processing. To fulfill these conditions, the developed automatic control system must have the ability to identify the material on the sorting surface, taking into account external damage and ensuring the automatic removal of impurities. In this study, the highest sorting accuracy of tubers (of more than 91%) was achieved with a forward speed of 1.2 m/s for the conveyor of the sorting table, with damage to 2.2% of the tubers, which meets the agrotechnical requirements for post-harvest processing. This feature distinguishes the developed device from similar ones.

This paper proposes the development of an advanced fuzzy logic controller which aims to perform intelligent automatic control of the yaw movement of wind turbines. The specific fuzzy controller takes into account both the wind velocity and the acceptable yaw error correlation in order to achieve maximum performance efficacy. In this way, the proposed yaw control system is remarkably adaptive to the existing conditions. In this way, the wind turbine is enabled to retain its power output close to its nominal value and at the same time preserve its yaw system from pointless movement. Thorough simulation tests evaluate the proposed system effectiveness.

Objective: To improve the subsidiary electric drive of high-speed electric stock by applying asynchronous drive frequency regulator. Methods: Fuzzy logic concepts were applied for an automatic control system regulator. Results: A computer model of the regulator was developed and the results of modeling were presented in the form of optimization process of load moment stepped variation by the control system with standard and fuzzy logic controllers. Practical importance: On the basis of the introduced computer model, transient analysis is possible in automatic control system of the subsidiary electric drive of the high-speed electric stock. The research findings may be used in the design of new and retrofit of the existing automatic control systems of the subsidiary electric drive with improved characteristics of control performance.

Abstract The stages of modeling the automatic control system (ACS) for air supply to aeration with the use of fuzzy control are considered. The investigated control algorithm is based on the combination of a nonlinear controller with approximating control (CAC), whose parameters are corrected using fuzzy logic. The algorithm for correcting the CAC parameters for transient and steady state modes is based on the application of two simple rulebases (RB) with three and five linguistic terms, respectively. As a result, the required speed in the transient mode and accuracy in the steady state mode are provided. It is proved that switching the RB according to the logic of the multi-mode system is less demanding on the number of rules, structure and setting parameters of the membership function than using the extended RB. The differences between the proposed ACS with different BP for the main operating modes of the system are shown. These include: improvement of quality indicators due to the implementation of different BP in different modes; more rigorous justification of the mechanism for ensuring insensitivity to the switching moments of BP when changing modes due to the CAC of the direct circuit of the ACS. Effective implementation of the stages of ACS modeling and fuzzy controller design is possible using the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox system of the Simulink MATLAB modeling environment.

The paper provides a control system of the cascade of centrifugal extractors. This system is based on a conventional PID controller with elements of neuro-fuzzy logic for on-line tuning system. Neural networks used with fuzzy logic in an automatic control system allowed minimizing the negative impacts of human factor on the purification processes of uranium concentrates. The current system ensures the advanced control of a cascade and stabilization of the uranium concentration at the permissible industrial levels.

This paper presents a study and investigation of an improvement of boiler efficiency with an automatic control of air quantity into a combustion chamber. A fire tube boiler with a fixed gate and screw conveyor for feeding fuel was used to test the automatic control system, and a sub-bituminous was used as a fuel for this study. The increase in boiler efficiency was based on controlling amount of air quantity for fuel combustion before entering to the combustion chamber using fuzzy logic control algorithm. Automatic combustion control was achieved by measuring the amount of Oxygen gas (O2) from flue gas stack. From the experimental results, it was indicated that the automatic control system can control the average amount of O2 in flue gas at 11.09% when the O2 in the flue gas was set at 10%. The boiler efficiency was increased by 4.34%, and the energy consumption was reduced to have a fuel saving of 195.88 ton/year.

In this article, the main object of research is the creation of appropriate microclimatic conditions to ensure reliable and high-quality storage of archival documents, as well as automatic control of the optimal values of the main parameters of the external and internal environment that directly affect the quality of storage. To control the microclimate, three categories of models for automatic control of these parameters are considered separately in the archives: the “white box”, “black box” and “gray box " models. The results of the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the considered models are presented. The generalized structure of the microclimate management system is also given, as well as a list of controlled and changeable parameters of the microclimate management system of archives. It is proposed to use the fuzzy logic apparatus to create microclimate control systems in archival repositories, which allows synthesizing stable algorithms for its functioning in conditions of uncertainty. The specific steps that need to be performed when designing and using fuzzy inference systems and which are implemented based on the rules of fuzzy logic are listed. When designing and using fuzzy inference systems, it is necessary to observe certain stages that are implemented based on the rules of fuzzy logic. A generalized algorithm for forming a rule base with a technique for implementing the fuzzy inference procedure is presented. The tasks that need to be solved when designing a fuzzy control system are indicated. A system of automatic temperature control in archival repositories with a fuzzy logic controller is presented.
