The studies, conducted by the IMAGRI Institute in Europe, allow us to answer the question about the attitude of Russian speaking migrants to European values. The Institute started its activities in 2009, in Brussels. The category of migrants WMA (Women-Migrants Advanced) has highly developed cross-cultural communication skills, but in about half the cases it does not solve the problem of self-realization in their careers and in the society – for this category these concepts are inseparable. “Our” category of migrants, whose number has increased in Europe, requires special integration programmes through entrepreneurship, as our project RESTART (2011–2014) has proved its effectiveness. This research was prompted by communication with migrants and monitoring processes that are currently activated in the Russian diaspora. Of course, the focus of our researches and monitoring is a gender (women’s) group. According to many reports, women make the majority of migrants living in Europe, being present in a significant number in all sectors of migration: family migration (both creation and family reunification), intellectual migration (both professionals and specialists as family members), and labour migration (mainly from the post-Soviet area, but not from Russia). They are the “invisible majority” (experts say) in the Russian migration to Europe. However, by working on research projects in the sphere of migrant women, establishing contacts with various community organizations, consulting experts, we drew attention to the fact that, first of all, women are not only a significant part of immigration, but also an extremely active (both socially and culturally) part of it.

The article is devoted to the study of issues related to the problem of “intercultural com-munication”.The complexity and relevance of this problem for the modern stage of cultur-al development is shown. Modernism is seen as an element of erosion of the functional integrity and balance of the dominant cultural system. Based on this research, a number of conclusions are made.

In the article the phenomenon of translation is regarded as mental interpretation activity not only in linguistics, but also in literary criticism. The literary work and its translation are most vivid guides to mental and cultural life of people, an example of intercultural communication. An adequate perception of non-native culture depends on communicators’ general fund of knowledge. The essential part of such fund of knowledge is native language, and translation, being a mediator, is a means of cross-language and cross-cultural communication. Mastering another language through literature, a person is mastering new world and its culture. The process of literary texts’ translation requires language creativity of the translator, who becomes so-called “co-author” of the work. Translation activity is a result of the interpreter’s creativity and a sort of language activity: language units are being selected according to language units of the original text. This kind of approach actualizes linguistic researching of real translation facts: balance between language and speech units of the translated work (i.e. translationinterpretation, author’s made-up words, or revised language peculiarities of the characters). The process of literary translation by itself should be considered within the dimension of a dialogue between cultures. Such a dialogue takes place in the frame of different national stereotypes of thinking and communicational behavior, which influences mutual understanding between the communicators with the help of literary work being a mediator. So, modern linguistics actualizes the research of language activities during the process of literary work’s creating. This problem has to be studied furthermore, it can be considered as one of the central ones to be under consideration while dealing with cultural dimension of the translation process, including the process of solving the problems of cross-cultural communication.

The present paper aims to compare the principles of choosing a marriage partner and analyse the status of being in the marrriage in the frame of family traditions that are totally inherent to the both of the nations: English and Uzbek. It is known that interconnection and cross-cultural communication between the countries of these two nationalities have been recently developed. The purpose to give an idea about these types of family traditions and prevent any misunderstanding that might occur in the communications makes our investigation topical one. The different cultures, power distance could be the obstacle in intercultural communication. The aim of this research to identify the types of Cross-Cultural Communication Style Choice between British and American in the Leap Year movie. The researchers attempt to reveal kinds of Cross-Cultural Communication Style Choice between Declan as British and Anna as American for three days. This Qualitative research method analyses data of utterances and are classified into four types of Cross-Cultural Communication Style Choice. The result shows that there are 356 utterances of Anna and Declan. for three days. Anna has 204 utterances with 44,3 % direct style and indirect 5,8 %.. Declan uses 155 utterance with 37 % and 12 % indirect style. British tend to use more indirect styles in expressing their intention to save the interlocutor’s face.Meanwhile, American use direct styles to reveal their intentions as they belong to the high culture communication.Key words: across culture communication,direct style, indirectstyle
