This paper presents a comparative analysis of textile antenna using different feeding techniques for Global Positioning System (GPS-L1) application. Textile materials which are commonly used in the wearable application has gained much attention due to the flexibility and conformability characteristic of the antenna. Nevertheless, the flexibility of this antenna will introduce the bending and stretching element to its physical structure that may degrades the performance. To ensure the maximum power transfer takes place takes place between the source and the antenna, a suitable feeding method must be identified. In this paper, the microstrip feedline technique and coaxial feeding technique will be studied comparatively using Felt textile material as the substrate with the relative permittivity, ?r of 1.098 and tangent loss, ? of 0.0395. It is attached to a copper tape which act as the conductive material with thickness of 0.035 mm. Using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio software, the result will be analysed comparatively from the performance validation in return loss, gain, bandwidth, directivity and radiation pattern

This paper presents a preliminary design of a textile antenna using aperturecoupled technique for Global Positioning System (GPS) application. Mostly used in wearable application, textile materials are suitable to be applied as the antenna substrates due to the flexibility and conformability characteristic. In this paper, felt material with the relative permittivity, εr1 of 0.76 and thickness of 2.69 mm is chosen as the substrate, and is attached to a pure copper layer as the conductive material with the thickness of 0.07 mm. Meanwhile, the textile material used as the feed substrate is fleece with the thickness of 0.69 mm with the relative permittivity εr2 of 0.91. The design procedure is discussed and the simulated data using the CST Microwave Studio software is further analysed in terms of the return loss, gain, directivity and radiation pattern.

Investigation of the influence of the peculiarities of raw material composition and structure of traditional and innovative linen textile materials on their hygienic properties. Theoretical and experimental investigations are based on the main positions of textile materials science. In experimental studies, modern standardized methods for determining the hygienic properties of textile materials were used, as well as techniques specially developed taking into account the peculiarities of the operating conditions of underwear. The peculiarities of the operating conditions and the basic functions of hospital underwear were determined. The comparative analysis of hygienic properties of traditional and modern fabrics for underwear was carried out. Using the standardized and the developed methods, adapted to the peculiarities of the conditions of use of the products, the indicators characterizing the processes of water absorption of the materials were experimentally determined. On the basis of the obtained values of quality indicators, a comprehensive assessment of the ability of materials to transfer moisture and air, with the calculation of the arithmetic complex quality index was done. This allowed to determine the material that is optimal in properties, which provides thermophysiological comfort when operating hospital underwear. Using the developed methods, which take into account the specifics of the operating conditions, a comparative analysis of the hygienic properties of traditional and innovative materials for underwear was carried out. A new range of textile materials for underwear has been proposed, taking into account the peculiarities of the operational situation of consumption.

This paper presents the measurement results of the thermal insulation of the outer shell, thermal inserts, and clothing systems, as well as a comparative analysis of the thermal insulation of multi-layer thermal inserts in a thermal jacket intended for professional services in cold weather. Detachable thermal inserts are made of double-faced, diamond-shaped quilted lining with different masses per unit area, and together with the jacket, they form clothing systems with different thermal properties. Tests of the thermal properties of clothing were performed on a thermal manikin. They showed that an increase in the mass of thermal insulation textile materials contributes to an increase in the thermal insulation properties of clothing and are insufficient for a complete analysis of the thermal properties of clothing. Therefore, for the first time, three new parameters of integration efficiency of the thermal insert, thermal insulation efficiency parameters, and efficiency parameters of the integration of the textile material integrated into the clothing system were introduced. Based on these parameters, it is possible to perform an effective and accurate comparative analysis of the thermal insulation of multi-layer thermal inserts in clothing. This makes it possible to apply exact scientific methods largely in the technical design of the thermal properties of integrated textile materials, instead of experience-based methods as in the past.

Nasogastric enteral feeding is not tolerated in patients with gastric atony and in many critically-ill patients in whom gastric emptying may be delayed and in whom gastro-oesophageal regurgitation may lead to pulmonary aspiration of enteral feed and the development of pneumonia. Initial attempts to overcome these problems led to the development of post pyloric enteral feeding techniques with the infusion port of the tubes positioned in the duodenum. In many centres this technique is still the most practised post-pyloric enteral feeding technique. Nasoduodenal feeding tubes often retroperistalse into the stomach. The technique of choice, therefore, in these difficult patients is to position the infusion port of the feeding tube well distal to the ligament of trietz (post ligament of trietz nasojejunal enteral tube feeding). While nasogastric and nasoduodenal enteral feeding techniques have been shown to elicit a stimulatory exocrine pancreatic response, distal jejunal enteral feeding does not. During this mode of feeding the ileal brake is activated and pancreatic exocrine pancreatic secretion inhibited by the action of the released peptide YY and glucagon-like peptide-1 hormones, in turn the inhibition of pancreatic secretion being the result of inhibition of trypsin secretion. In the light of the findings showing the absence of a stimulatory pancreatic exocrine response to nasojejunal enteral feeding these patients should receive a predigested rather than a polymeric enteral diet.

The description of residential buildings in the past is made possible by studying the physical structure of the preserved architectural and movable archaeological finds, and also by the analysis of the written (epigraphic and numismatic) material findings, as well as the analysis of the written literary works which, through the author?s subjectivity, documented the social life. That is why the knowledge of the classical antiquity construction handbooks can only contribute to the understanding of the architecture, housing conditions, and thus facilitate the reconstruction of the ancient houses. Works about residential buildings by Columella, Vitruvius and Faventinus, three authors from different periods of the mature antiquity, are fully preserved. This paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of their works, which indicate that the recommendations for determining the properties of various functional units within the residential building were similar over a longer period of time observed here.

This paper describes different feeding technique and different substrate applicable to Microstrip patch antenna which is one of the important aspects. A good impedance matching condition between the line and patch without any additional matching elements depends on feeding techniques used and substrate used. After analysis various feeding techniques for different substrate, this paper gives a better understanding of the design parameters of an antenna and their effect on Impedance, VSWR, bandwidth and gain. Finally, simulation is done using design software HFSS.

The performance of rectangular microstrip patch antenna with the edge feeding and coaxial feeding techniques with DGS (Defective ground structure) and DSS (Defective substrate structure) are analyzed. It was observed that the return loss for Edge feeding is -28.39dB, for DSS it is - 26.44 and return loss for coaxial with DGS is -27.50dB and for DSS is -28.52. VSWR is approximately equal to 1 for all designs and also it was observed that the Gain is enhancement in Edge feeding and Bandwidth is improvement with coaxial feeding. The antenna designing and simulation is done by using the ANSOFT HFSS Software.
