This article examines the link between paternal migration and children’s arithmetic and reading achievement, using the 2005 and 2012 waves of the national India Human Development Survey (IHDS). Additionally, it investigates if fathers’ migration is associated with increased investments in children’s education and time spent on educational activities. Using propensity score matching, this article finds that fathers’ current and long-term migration, defined as being a migrant in both IHDS waves, is positively associated with children’s education. However, the benefits of paternal migration are experienced more frequently by sons than by daughters. Sons of migrant fathers demonstrate higher reading and arithmetic achievement, benefit from higher education expenditure, and spend more time on educational activities than sons of non-migrant fathers. Daughters of migrant fathers exhibit higher reading skills and receive higher investments in education but are no different from daughters of non-migrant fathers in time spent on educational activities and arithmetic achievement. These results suggest a gendered process at play in remittance utilization, with sons experiencing a more robust remittance effect. Nevertheless, it is promising to note that daughters also gain from the economic and social remittances received by left-behind families in a modernizing India.

As this tremendous increase in the commuting couples rise has the best logical explanation / factors such as the inflation, financial management of their family, children’s education, MNC’s establishment in a very big major city like Chennai have been cited as the best reason for migrating from their own places to the capital of Tamil nadu, i.e., Chennai. There might be some miscommunication that this lifestyle leads to chaos as we can see for ourselves that most people we came across are falling into this category

Abstract This article discusses the role of parents as child educators in the household. Many Muslim scholars quoted quran verses and hadith as the basis for the importance of children's education in the family. The family is the smallest instrument in the community and is the basic platform as well as a place for early education for every child. The role of parents is very important in children's education. Parents who are able to position themselves as protectors, protectors, and educators of children will certainly be coherent in the hope that they will get good future generation candidates, because the nature of children is in need of love and attention from their parents. Will of Lukman al-Hakim in Q.S. Luqman verses 13-19 is a manifestation of the importance of children's education by parents in the family. Education in the family is not only limited to religious education, but also provides moral, personality and social education. Parents should be able to carry out holistic education to children in the family so that they can realize the goal of education, namely to make a complete person balanced between emotions, intellectuals, and spirituality Abstrak Artikel ini membahas tentang peran orang tua sebagai pendidik anak dalam rumah tangga.
