A curriculum does not exist in a void; internal members play a key role in responding to the different forces that continually shape it. One of the approaches to evaluation is through internal evaluation from the perspective of the inside members who work with the curriculum. However, the internal evaluation may pose restricted evaluation due to the innate subjective human judgment. Considering these contexts, this paper performed a pilot internal evaluation of a selected aspect of a higher education curriculum using a triangulation mixed method design called the data transformation model. Based on the results, the evaluation using the data transformation model probed important points of agreement and discrepancy in the data sets. The implications for evaluation theory and curriculum practice are discussed. It is suggested that an extension of the current formative internal evaluation continuing the tradition of data transformative model but progressively focusing on larger aspects of the curriculum should be further conducted.

This paper calculates the mean duration of the postpartum amenorrhoea (PPA) and examines its demographic, and socioeconomic correlates in rural north India, using data collected through 'retrospective' (last but one child) as well as 'current status' (last child) reporting of the duration of PPA.The mean duration of PPA was higher in the current status than in the retrospective data;n the difference being statistically significant. However, for the same mothers who gave PPA information in both the data sets, the difference in mean duration of PPA was not statistically significant. The correlates were identical in both the data sets. The current status data were more complete in terms of the coverage, and perhaps less distorted by reporting errors caused by recall lapse.A positive relationship of the mean duration of PPA was found with longer breast-feeding, higher parity and age of mother at the birth of the child, and the survival status of the child. An inverse relationship was found with higher education of a woman, higher education of her husband and higher socioeconomic status of her household, these variables possibly acting as proxies for women's better nutritional status.

Brazilian public universities are undergoing an intense process of change in search of solutions to transform themselves into institutions that are more attuned to 21st century social needs. In this regard, the aim of this study was to analyze a new higher education curriculum offered at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA): the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree in Healthcare. This was a preliminary qualitative investigation, accomplished as a case study. The methodological tools used include document analysis, open interviews and participant observation. It was seen that the teachers were engaged in the process of putting together a course that promotes training of professionals qualified to undertake social development. It was also noted that the students were themselves proving to be capable of deep critical reflection on social issues. It was therefore concluded that the case studied has provided the results expected by the higher education institution hosting the course.

In recent years, the rate of access to higher education has increased dramatically in Turkey. Although this case provides many advantages in the medium and long term, it is also a source of a significant problem. This problem is ”over education“ problem. This study addresses the over education problem in the dimension of education and particularly in the context of higher education curricula. As a result of the documentary analysis, we argue that Turkey can alleviate over education problem by adopting a market-oriented higher education model.
