Conversational user interfaces, aka chatbots, offer new ways of interaction that can be used not only for task-led applications, but also for learning itself. From drill-and-practice assistants to digital tutors and coaches, Conversational learning offers a variety of new and extensive options to support individuals through the learning process and to push the boundaries of classroom-based learning. However, Conversational Learning applications that go beyond simple question-and-answer dialogs are still rare. “Pit in the Warehouse” takes a new stance to Conversational Learning: by combining an dialogical escape room challenge with an interactive fiction approach and compelling storytelling, it creates an engaging and low-threshold type of game-based learning.

In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic turned into an urgent priority for higher education institutions in that they had to move to remote teaching within a matter of weeks. This paper presents the results of a quantitative survey looking at the challenges university faculty were facing when moving their course(s) online during the first semester of the COVID-19 crisis. The survey looks specifically at course design and formats used in online teaching during the crisis and compares differences occurring between disciplines (STEM and management education). The outcomes overall mirror a sense of achievement due to the successful delivery of online courses with little preparation. Difficulties lecturers identified were related to promoting student interaction and engagement, technical issues, the effort required to plan and prepare online learning materials, and challenges with regard to online assessment. Having access to training and support in various forms was highlighted as an important success factor.

Abstract—Throughout the world today, the capacity to innovate is no longer an option. It’s a necessity for any organization that hopes to survive and find success. However, innovation is not just an organizational capability. A crucial piece is the personal capabilities of those who are called on to enable that innovation. That’s arguably everyone.Mindset Trek elearning is designed to develop the mindset needed to be an effective innovator, in a wide range of settings. Settings that include universities and startup incubators and accelerators, as well as corporate, R&D, government and non-profit. By focusing on the underlying mindset that is common to all types of innovation, this approach transcends those boundaries.

The advent of the 4. Industrial Revolution brings new opportunities, but also risks to entrepreneurs and employees as well as to education systems and the methods of teaching the present generation in education system. New job opportunities, new forms of work bring demands both from practice and from individual point of view, especially in terms of developing new competences and skills that are usable today. The scientific article is a partial output from the KEGA project 005UJS-4/2019 entitled “Streamlining Managerial Sills of the generations Z and Y by gamification on the context of linking science and practice", which is solved at the Faculty of Economics of the J. Selye University in Komárno. The current period in which we live is influenced by the rapid growth of knowledge. The established methods and forms of teaching must be changed by the school that prepares the individual to be able to adapt to changing requirements. The impact of scientific and technological progress on education is a societal problem, where the contradiction between the amount of new knowledge in individual fields of science and the educational possibilities of the school has to be addressed. The main aim of our research is to point out the effective use of innovative teaching methods by application of gamification, which leads to the development of new competences in the generation Z, which will be easier to apply in the labour market.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused many workers to lose their jobs, and also resulted in rapid surges in demand for workers with particular skills. In public health there was suddenly a huge demand for community health workers to conduct contact tracing, vaccination, and community outreach. To address this need, our team undertook the challenge of creating an online course that trains workers for community health work in half the time of typical training programs. It utilizes the Enskill® learning platform, which uses AI technology to create simulated scenarios in which trainees practice skills with avatars acting as simulated patients. Fifty-seven training participants without college degrees were recruited for the program from the Hampton Roads region, in collaboration with the Hampton Roads Workforce Council. The first cohorts of trainees were able to complete the training successfully in just eight weeks, and are now being placed in public health and healthcare positions. The approach also shows promise for upskilling existing employees to address skill gaps. The Enskill training program is a competitor in the XPRIZE Foundation’s Rapid Reskilling competition, to quickly reskill under-resourced workers for the digital revolution.

Τhe purpose of this article is to investigate how metacognition supports giftedness in leadership. The concepts of metacognition, giftedness and leadership seem to be interrelated. The article attempts to explore new trends in understanding and development of giftedness. Research has shown that the concept of metacognition is inextricably linked to the concept of giftedness. Metacognition has an important role in the development of individuals, because it helps them to improve their cognitive and metacognitive skills. Metacognitive skills such as monitoring, self-regulation, awareness are higher skills that gifted individuals process to a high degree and through training can improve them even further. Moreover, the metacognitive skills of monitoring and adaptation can affect leadership skills. The metacognitive skills that are associated with leadership are self-awareness, regulation and monitoring. Therefore, if leadership is based on consciousness and giftedness then we will have higher leadership skills.

Same as the general public differently interprets the same phenomena in diverse cultures, leaders’ standpoints differ also. Because of unequal advancement and cultural diversity, a specific welfare level or geography perceives digital transformation that is radically disparate from others. In advanced economies, leaders comprehensively recognize the products and trending technologies of the digital era on a broader scale. But it is different in an emerging economy. Naturally, the factors such as the industry and the globalization of the companies matter, yet a survey in a widespread sector can help to project business leaders’ and managers’ perception of digital transformation and bring different judgments. Two questions come fore at this point: If business leaders focus on or are aware of the products and ideas of current technologies, and if they appropriately construe these ideas and products. In Turkey, leaders predominantly tend to identity digital transformation with social media, still! Although digital transformation is related to social media, it is not limited to it. There are state-of-the-art technologies, but in such geographies, leaders require time to possess digital and technological consciousness. In this new world order, leadership has reached a point that there is a need for ultimate leaders, who origins from the very elements of this disruptive environment and rises with distinguishing skills and epoch-making perspectives. On the other hand, learning and performance are indispensable parameters for leaders in times of digital transformation. This article underlines the significant factors that impact these parameters.

The paper presents an implementation of the fishpond experiment as a means to help the development of a first-hand experience of the implications of individual and group behavior to the tragedy of commons. Apart from its value to teaching purposes, we see the value for exploring the potential of scaling up and transfer of its deployment to a broader audiences not only in the educational curricula but also for professional development of future generations of environmentally conscious and responsible managers and corporate decision-makers.
