The existing problems of operation of irrigation systems in the Stavropol territory are considered. The analysis showed the continuing degradation of the technical condition of irrigation systems due to low funding for operation and maintenance. Foreign experience in solving this problem and improving the efficiency of irrigation systems operation by decentralizing management and using the partnership strategy is considered.

The analysis of the current approaches to the assessment of the technical condition of water supply facilities of irrigation systems has been carried out and the need has been established for improving the monitoring technology for reclamative water utilization system on the basis of the development of innovative automated instrument control methods that use the integral evaluation of the remaining service life of structures and the prediction of the service life of the facility. Created software-hardware complex automated diagnostic detection of latent defects providing designs and constructions underlying subgrade acoustic GPR and methods of nondestructive testing, determination of the location and geometric parameters of each structure element malfunctions. As part of the diagnostics, an assessment is carried out: the degree of abrasion, leaching, filtration of concrete elements of structures; indicators of frost resistance and water resistance, the volume of existing damage and the efficiency of the structure. The problem with the evaluation of the effectiveness of the creation and application of automated control systems for technological processes, caused by the lack of standards in the field of melioration regulating such calculations, is identified.

Maintaining profitability under conditions of limited water availability is a key issue facing dairy farmers in the Shepparton Irrigation Region. These farmers predominantly use border-check irrigation. Pressurised irrigation methods are seen as one option for increasing productivity from the limited water resources. This study reports on landowners’ perceptions towards the adoption of centre pivot and lateral move irrigators, based on survey and factor analysis. The survey was of 20 landowners using face-to-face interviews. Factor analysis was used to identify broad categories of benefits and barriers that best summarised farmers’ responses to survey questions. Improved farm management, productivity benefits, lifestyle benefits and improved marketability of farms were identified as the key benefits of adopting centre pivot and lateral move irrigators perceived by farmers. Capital cost, operation and maintenance costs, layout of the farm and unreliability of systems were seen as the key barriers. An understanding of these perceived benefits and barriers is the first step towards the development of extension information relating to the adoption of centre pivot and lateral move irrigation systems.

The authors of the article discuss some aspects of inclined tunnel escalators in St. Petersburg metro, related to the aging of the equipment and the necessity of its replacement in accordance with the new regulations; they propose some options for solving the existing problems. Secure work of escalators could be achieved and maintained by two ways: by designing new models of escalators with modern technologies at the basis, as well as by constant control over existing escalators working conditions during exploitation period. Authors show that the introduction of new regulatory requirements has asked for improving the design of escalators with the decrease of their lateral dimension in order to accommodate four machines in a tunnel. Authors also proposed methods of examining technical conditions of escalators at the final stage of their service life with the aim of extending it as well as for periodic evaluation of their technical condition using magnetic and magneto-acoustic technology in addition to the usual procedures.

Statement of the problem. Today there are risks to the health of citizens in fitness centers providing health and fitness services. This is evidenced by the extensive judicial practice when citizens ask for compensation of their health damage in case of injuries in fitness centers. Statistics from foreign countries show a high risk of injury in fitness centers. The purpose of this article is to identify the main problems associated with ensuring safety in relation to the health of citizens when providing fitness services, and to search for solutions to the identified problems. The research methodology consists in the analysis of legal acts in the field of physical culture and sports in terms of regulating the work of fitness centers and generalizing the relevant foreign experience. Research results. It was found out that risks to the health of citizens applying for fitness services arise due to the lack of an appropriate level of professionalism among the fitness club staff in organizing and setting physical activity, as well as the lack of proper medical and pedagogical support. Foreign experience in the fitness industry shows that the problem of ensuring safety of fitness services can be resolved through requirements to professional qualifications of personnel. However, proper medical and pedagogical control is currently not included in the mandatory requirements to the legal support of the fitness industry, either in our country or abroad. Conclusions. The article presents solutions to existing problems in the form of introducing an appropriate educational professional standard for fitness instructors, as well as introducing a mandatory nature of compliance with the standards of professional activity of fitness centers.
