‘Good health and wellbeing’ is one of the key United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGs). By ensuring healthy lives and promoting positive wellbeing, physical and mental activities have been encouraged for all at all ages. In recent decades, fitness culture and industry has significantly grown in many countries to enhance healthy lives and positive wellbeing. With the vigorous development of the fitness industry, a gym has become one of the common facilities within a neighborhood or on a campus in order to promote more and more people to participate in fitness activities. At the same time, the rapid increase in gym construction also provides more employment opportunities for professional fitness coaches. On the other hand, excessive noises and vibrations stemming from certain heavy gym activities can be observed. Accordingly, the NIHL (noise-induced hearing loss) in a gym should receive more attention. According to critical literature reviews, the high-intensity noise in gyms is mainly caused by the drops of heavy steel bars or dumbbells. Today, most gyms adopt cushioned flooring in specific areas, but the effectiveness of noise suppression still needs to be evaluated. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of hearing loss caused by noise doses in a gym. Noises derived from heavy gym sources (i.e., lifting of heavy weights) were monitored and collected for analyses in order to estimate the risk of NIHL in a traditional gym, as well as to assess the measurements against the authoritative criteria to derive some technical guidelines for fitness and gym managers. The outcome of this study will improve insights into acoustic monitoring techniques and practical management within a gym environment.

Employing a variety of theoretical approaches, feminist researchers have critiqued the fitness industry of its singular emphasis on the impossible, narrowly defined feminine body ideal that is likely to cause more mental (e.g., body dissatisfaction) and physical ill health (eating disorders, injuries) than improve fitness. With the focus on social construction of gendered identities, there has been less problematisation of the materiality of the fitness practices and their impact on the cultural production of the moving body. In this article, I adopt a Latourian approach to seek for a more complete account of the body in motion and how it matters in the contemporary world. A barre class as a popular group exercise class that combines ballet and exercise modalities offers a location for such an examination due to the centrality of a non-human object, the barre, that distinguishes it from other group exercise classes. I consider how exercise practices may be constituted in relation to a material object, the barre, and how the physical and material intersect, historically, with the cultural politics of fitness and dance from where the barre originates. To do this, I trace the journey of the barre from ballet training to the fitness industry to illustrate how human and non-human associations create a hybrid collective.

Risk analysis consists of three elements which are risk management, risk communication, and risk assessment. The risk occurs in many ways and conditions while exercising mostly in the fitness industry. Therefore, the purpose of this study aims to examine the currently available literature that focuses on risk analysis and fitness facilities in the fitness industry. A comprehensive survey of online data source (Scopus and Web of Science All Collection), as well as conference proceeding of possibly related papers, were analyzed. The search was limited to research that was published in English and had complete text access. All of these resources were gone through, using key search words and equivalents for fitness facilities, fitness centre with risk analysis, risk management, risk communication and risk assessment. 33 studies were record screened from 94 total number of records after duplicate and only a few studies were accepted for review which are eight theses was selected in qualitative synthesis and seven studies selected in the quantitative synthesis. The data were sort from the two published studies (Scopus and Web of Science). Results found that 15 dissertations and/or theses were submitted to systematic quality analysis. The findings systematically evaluate cross-sectional observation-based studies indicating risk analysis is critical for maintaining the fitness industry's surroundings safe and pristine when participating in any physical activity, particularly at a fitness facility. Analyses suggest that the assumption that risk analysis has a significant influence on the impression of being able to control future accidents.  In conclusion, applying the management of risk analysis in fitness facilities is important in the fitness industry.

The health and fitness sector is systematically growing worldwide and is considered a vibrant business area shaped by many innovations while showing great potential for professional development and marketing strategies. In Greece, low-cost and budget gyms as well as boutique fitness studios emerged as a popular business model among health club operators demonstrating a remarkable increase nationwide following the global fitness industry trends. However, previous research focusing on implementing marketing strategies to attract and retain customers in the Greek fitness industry is scarce. The primary aim of the present study was to investigate: i) which are the marketing strategies implemented in order to attract and retain customers, ii) whether these marketing actions are differentiated depending on whether: a) the fitness companies are multipurpose gyms, boutique/personal training studios or CrossFit-like clubs and b) they operate in metropolitan areas (e.g., Athens and Thessaloniki) or in the province of Greece. A cross-sectional online survey was conducted between May 15 and June 5, 2020. The questionnaire used a 4-point Likert scale and was validated internally as required. A total of 631 questionnaires were collected corresponding approximately to 25% of all companies operating in the fitness sector nationwide. Results showed that promotion through social media was the primary customer attraction action. Attractive prices as well as frequent equipment renewal and facilities’ renovation/maintenance were the most popular members’ retention strategies. Top marketing attraction and retention strategies were mediated by the different fitness centers’ business type and location. Much needs to be done in order for the fitness industry in Greece to grow in terms of marketing.

After the reform and the opening, the economy of our country has developed rapidly, and the living conditions of the people have become better and better. As a result, they have a lot of time to pay attention to their health, which has promoted the rapid development of the sports and fitness industry in my country. In response to the increasing development of the sports and fitness sector of my country, the current state of the administration of members of the sports fitness industry does not keep pace with the development of the sports and fitness industry of my country. Based on this, this article uses a fuzzy decision tree algorithm to establish a decision tree based on the characteristics of customer data and loses existing customers. Analyzing the situation is of strategic significance for improving the competitiveness of the club. This article selects the 7 most commonly used data sets from the UCI data set as the initial experimental data for model training in three different formats and then uses the data of a specific club member to conduct experiments, using these data files as training samples to construct a vague analysis of the decision tree to overturn the customer to analyze the main factors of customer change. Experiments show that the fuzzy decision tree ID3 algorithm based on mobile computing has the highest accuracy in the Iris data set, reaching 97.8%, and the accuracy rate in the Wine data set is the smallest, only 65.2%. The mobile computing-based fuzzy decision tree ID3 algorithm proposed in this paper obtained the highest correct rate (86.32%). This shows that, compared to traditional analysis methods, the blurred decision tree obtained for churn client analysis has the advantages of high classification accuracy and is understandable so that ideal classification accuracy can be achieved when the tree is small.

Statement of the problem. Today there are risks to the health of citizens in fitness centers providing health and fitness services. This is evidenced by the extensive judicial practice when citizens ask for compensation of their health damage in case of injuries in fitness centers. Statistics from foreign countries show a high risk of injury in fitness centers. The purpose of this article is to identify the main problems associated with ensuring safety in relation to the health of citizens when providing fitness services, and to search for solutions to the identified problems. The research methodology consists in the analysis of legal acts in the field of physical culture and sports in terms of regulating the work of fitness centers and generalizing the relevant foreign experience. Research results. It was found out that risks to the health of citizens applying for fitness services arise due to the lack of an appropriate level of professionalism among the fitness club staff in organizing and setting physical activity, as well as the lack of proper medical and pedagogical support. Foreign experience in the fitness industry shows that the problem of ensuring safety of fitness services can be resolved through requirements to professional qualifications of personnel. However, proper medical and pedagogical control is currently not included in the mandatory requirements to the legal support of the fitness industry, either in our country or abroad. Conclusions. The article presents solutions to existing problems in the form of introducing an appropriate educational professional standard for fitness instructors, as well as introducing a mandatory nature of compliance with the standards of professional activity of fitness centers.

This article discusses the adaptation of the body of mature women of the second period from 36 to 55 years under the influence of physical activity, namely the dance fitness program zumba. The problem of the study is that with all the diversity of the fitness industry, there is no personalization of classes for mature women. The authors conducted an experiment suggesting that regular dance fitness classes increase the adaptive potential of women and stabilize the main functional indicators of the body. The paper reveals the features of this age group and the ways to adequately influence them. As a result of the experiment, the research hypothesis was confirmed, the adaptive potential increased, which allows the author to recommend the proposed type of physical activity for use in various physical education institutions. In addition, there was a need to reveal the methodology of classes in more detail in subsequent works.
