To study the mechanical properties of high modulus asphalt mixtures, dynamic modulus and phase angle of these two mixtures are tested with Simple Performance Testing System under different temperatures, loading frequencies and confining pressures. Testing results show the superiority of high modulus asphalt mixture in aspect of high temperature performance. Furthermore, the changing rules of dynamic modulus and phase angle are also discussed.

A two-stage study was conducted to assess the potential of a new methodological technique for measuring individual differences in basic attention capabilities and the validity of these differences in predicting success in flight training. A performance testing system included a digit-processing reaction-time task and a one-dimensional compensatory tracking task. Comparisons were made between separate and concurrent performances of these tasks, and simultaneous performances also included comparisons involving changes in task priorities. Results indicating consistent individual differences in basic attention capabilities suggest several dimensions for their description. A preliminary validation study compared scores for a group of 11 flight instructors and with a group of 32 student pilots. In addition, the student sample was dichotomized based on performance in training. There were reliable differences for both groups on combined task performance efficiency.

According to the ideal wheel speed change curve during the ABS braking and the vehicle inertia electromechanical mixed analog principle, the bench testing system for vehicle ABS performance was designed. In order to improve the reliability of the wheel velocity detection and optimize the systematic structure, the method of using the free roller to detect wheel speed and the regenerative braking energy compensation of asynchronous motor were proposed. The results show that designed test bench system can achieve ABS performance testing.

Proportional control technology is widely used in many hydraulic systems. In order to measure the characteristics of hydraulic components, it is necessary to establish hydraulic components test system based on proportional control technology. In this paper, the test contents of hydraulic components are analyzed, the performance testing system is designed, the system construction is presented, and the computer test software is developed. The application results showed that the developed system has good value, which can not only be used directly in enterprise to solve the production problem, but also improve the utilization and reliability of hydraulic components.

To solve the problem of testing BMBS (BLOW-OUT MONITORING AND BRAKE SYSTEM) vacuum booster performance, a double-station and on-line test system for BMBS vacuum booster was designed. It adopts high-speed data collection method and computer control technology. This system can test the performance in non-BMBS condition and BMBS condition. The test items mainly include dynamic characteristic and sealing performance under each condition. The double stations are independent and have no interference with each other. The system fills up the blank of performance testing about BMBS vacuum booster. To verify this system, experiments were conducted with the vacuum booster which installed the BMBS technology. The experiment results show that the system can do well in testing the performance of BMBS vacuum booster in high precision. The sealing performance resolution is 0.01kPa and the pressure resolution is 1N.

The conventional ultimate performance test by applying a component in its true application (i.e., in an engine) is often very expensive and impractical when dealing with developmental materials. Simpler, less expensive, and more practical test methods must be utilized. The present work aims toward the applications of an innovative methodology for testing environmental performance of advanced Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) in the presence of combined mechanical, thermal, and environmental applied conditions. To obtain a comprehensive understanding of how a composite might perform in certain application environments, a newly developed environmental performance testing system, which is able to provide the fundamental damage information of the composites in simulating service environments including variables such as temperature, mechanical and thermal stresses, flowing oxidizing gases and high gas pressure, is proposed. The system comprises of two subsystems: (1) equivalent experimental simulating subsystem, and (2) wind tunnel experimental simulating subsystem. The evolution mechanisms of the composites properties and microstructures can be achieved by the former, and then be validated and modified by the latter. Various loading (e.g. fatigue, creep), various atmospheres (e.g. argon, oxygen, water vapor, wet oxygen and molten salt vapor) and various temperature conditions (e.g. constant or cyclic temperatures) can be conducted on the system. Some typical experimental results are presented in this paper. Large quantities of tests have demonstrated the extraordinary stability and reliability of the system.
