Abstract At present, there is a huge amount of industrial waste accumulated in Russia, polluting the environment and covering large areas. The greatest impact on the environment comes from open-pit or quarry mining. Mining activities result in huge quantities of rock being brought to the surface and hence produce significant amounts of waste is generated, which has a negative impact on the natural environment. This is also typical for the Republic of Buryatia, where one of the main environmental problems is the formation of waste from both operating and shutdown mining enterprises. In this article we have analysed consequences of mining on natural environment using examples of operating and shut-down mining enterprises in Buryatia. We also gave typical examples of mining enterprises that have the strongest impact on the ecological condition of the territory.

Goat weed (Ageratum conyzoides L.), or bandotan in Indonesia, is an herbaceous plant that broadly grows up in both subtropical as well as tropical areas. This herb contains many phytoconstituents which have many benefits in different aspects. The essential oil contains phytochemicals such as phenol, phenolic ester, and coumarin, whereas many compounds can been identified in the whole part such as terpenoid, steroid, chromene, pyrrolizidine alkaloid, and flavonoid. Empirically, this herb has been used as an antihemorrhagic, antiseptic, antileprosy, and wound-healing agent. This article reviews the potency of the herb in medication according to the chemical substances being deposited, which are collected from numerous studies, followed by its in silico bioactivity prediction as well as its pharmaceutical dosage form formulation.

Limestone mining activities of PT Semen Baturaja Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Tbk South Sumatra Province is done in the open mining quarry mining mining with the system. Limestone is the primary raw material required in the manufacture of cement in PT semen baturaja Tbk. Mining activities in the quarry is open at the end of its activities, will leave the land mines. Land mines must be utilized in order to make the environment mining can function returns appropriate allocation. Utilization of land mines can be done for a variety of Evergreen plants such as designation, orchards, and others. Designation ex limestone mines of PT Semen Baturaja Tbk as contained in document his rope Post Plans, one of which is for Evergreen plants. Research conducted in the survey aims to assess, technically land use limestone mines of PT Semen Baturaja for Evergreen plants so that land mines can be used again, so that the negative effects of mining activities can be reduced. The results showed, the utilization of land of a former limestone to plant pine PT Semen baturaja has met the required technical aspect in planning post-war mine . Research results are expected to be of benefit to the stakeholders, academics, researchers, practitioners and the Association of mining, and the environment.

Ageratum conyzoides is an herbaceous plant widely used in traditional medicine against various diseases, and possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, analgesic, and diuretic properties. However, its effects on endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, as observed in diseases such as diabetes, have not yet been characterized. In this study, using mouse pancreatic Beta-cells, we demonstrated that the ethanol extract of A. conyzoides effectively suppressed cell death induced by ER stress. Four polymethoxyflavones (PMFs) including (1) 5,6,7,3′,4′,5′- hexamethoxyflavone; (2) 5,6,7,8,3′,4′-hexamethoxyflavone (nobiletin); (3) 3′,4′-methylenedioxy-5′,5,6,7- tetramethoxyflavone; and (4) 5,6,7,8,5′-pentamethoxy-3′,4′-methylenedioxyflavone were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction using reverse-phase chromatography. Their structures were elucidated using spectroscopic and mass-spectrometric analyses including 1D-, 2D-NMR, and HRESI-MS. All compounds were further evaluated for their ability to inhibit ER stress. Our results suggested that only compound 1 did not show an ability to rescue ER stress-induced cell death. Additionally, compound 2 as a nobiletin and its commercial product alleviated the tunicamycin-dependent chop mRNA expression induction. Notably, extremely low concentrations of both compounds exerted cytoprotective activity against tunicamycin-induced ER stress in pancreatic Beta-cells

Even though mining contributes less than 1 % to Malawi’s gross domestic product (GDP), it is central to the government’s sustainable development goals strategy and spearheaded to be the backbone of Malawi’s economy. Little is known about the scale of artisanal quarry mining production, mining methods used, capital requirements, its diversity and distribution across different areas in Malawi. Present study seeks to fill that gap by assessing the scale of artisanal and small scale quarry mining activities in Bangwe Township. With a population of 170, 350, it represents 21% of the total population of Blantyre city which has 809, 397 people. The township was chosen as it is the main hub and supplier of artisanal aggregates to surrounding areas in Blantyre. In addition, the township has many unemployed youth with a high potential to get involved in artisanal mining thereby improving their lives. Most youth have a negative perception about artisanal mining as it is viewed as a non-profit making and labour intensive business. There are no gemstone mining sites in Bangwe Township. It was also found that there are 7 artisanal quarry mining sites in the township comprising Ntopwa, Mpingwe, Mvula, Number One, Namatapa, Namiyango and Chikunda. On average, each quarry mining site produces 5 wheelbarrows per day and sells at US$2.66 per wheelbarrow. As most builders require quarry for construction projects, the quarry miners sell at least 0.5 tonnes per day. The output of this study has created a database of artisanal quarry mining activities and the level of active youth involvement in artisanal mining in Bangwe Township. Policy makers will use the new knowledge to develop strategies that will foster the growth of artisanal quarry miners and empower the youth to join the artisanal mining business.

Penyiangan manual, F). Kontrol.
