<p style='text-indent:20px;'>The collision-avoidance and flocking of the Cucker–Smale-type model with a discontinuous controller are studied. The controller considered in this paper provides a force between agents that switches between the attractive force and the repulsive force according to the movement tendency between agents. The results of collision-avoidance are closely related to the weight function <inline-formula><tex-math id="M1">\begin{document}$ f(r) = (r-d_0)^{-\theta } $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula>. For <inline-formula><tex-math id="M2">\begin{document}$ \theta \ge 1 $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula>, collision will not appear in the system if agents' initial positions are different. For the case <inline-formula><tex-math id="M3">\begin{document}$ \theta \in [0,1) $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula> that not considered in previous work, the limits of initial configurations to guarantee collision-avoidance are given. Moreover, on the basis of collision-avoidance, we point out the impacts of <inline-formula><tex-math id="M4">\begin{document}$ \psi (r) = (1+r^2)^{-\beta } $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula> and <inline-formula><tex-math id="M5">\begin{document}$ f(r) $\end{document}</tex-math></inline-formula> on the flocking behaviour and give the decay rate of relative velocity. We also estimate the lower and upper bound of distance between agents. Finally, for the special case that agents moving on the 1-D space, we give sufficient conditions for the finite-time flocking.</p>

We study the spectrum of regular and singular Sturm–Liouville problems with real-valued coefficients and a weight function that changes sign. The self-adjoint boundary conditions may be regular or singular, separated or coupled. Sufficient conditions are found for (i) the spectrum to be real and unbounded below as well as above and (ii) the essential spectrum to be empty. Also found is an upper bound for the number of non-real eigenvalues. These results are achieved by studying the interplay between the indefinite problems (with weight function which changes sign) and the corresponding definite problems. Our approach relies heavily on operator theory of Krein space.

We study emergent dynamics of the swarmalator model [K. P. O’Keeffe, H. Hong and S. H. Strogatz, Oscillators that sync and swarm, Nature Commun. 8 (2017) 1504] describing the dynamic interplay of aggregation and synchronization dynamics for interacting many-particle systems. For the particle aggregation, we employ the nonlinear aggregation system with singular attractive–repulsive couplings depending on the phase differences, while we use the Kuramoto-type model with the singular coupling strength depending on the spatial distances for the dynamics of phases. We show how collective behaviors emerge from the dynamic interplay between position aggregation and phase synchronization. We introduce some sufficient framework leading to the positive minimal relative distances between particles and its uniform upper bound. We also show the convergence of position under some sufficient conditions.

A delay-dependent robust fuzzy control approach is developed for a class of nonlinear uncertain interconnected time delay large systems in this paper. First, an equivalent T–S fuzzy model is extended in order to accurately represent nonlinear dynamics of the large system. Then, a decentralized state feedback robust controller is proposed to guarantee system stabilization with a prescribedH∞disturbance attenuation level. Furthermore, taking into account the time delays in large system, based on a less conservative delay-dependent Lyapunov function approach combining with linear matrix inequalities (LMI) technique, some sufficient conditions for the existence ofH∞robust controller are presented in terms of LMI dependent on the upper bound of time delays. The upper bound of time-delay and minimizedH∞performance index can be obtained by using convex optimization such that the system can be stabilized and for all time delays whose sizes are not larger than the bound. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated through simulation example.

This paper studies the problem of finite-timeH∞control for time-delayed Itô stochastic systems with Markovian switching. By using the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and free-weighting matrix techniques, some sufficient conditions of finite-time stability for time-delayed stochastic systems with Markovian switching are proposed. Based on constructing new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the mode-dependent state feedback controller for the finite-timeH∞control is obtained. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

We examine PBW deformations of finite group extensions of quantum symmetric algebras, in particular the quantum Drinfeld orbifold algebras defined by the first author. We give a homological interpretation, in terms of Gerstenhaber brackets, of the necessary and sufficient conditions on parameter functions to define a quantum Drinfeld orbifold algebra, thus clarifying the conditions. In case the acting group is trivial, we determine conditions under which such a PBW deformation is a generalized enveloping algebra of a color Lie algebra; our PBW deformations include these algebras as a special case.

Four new quartic rational Said-Ball-like basis functions, which include the cubic Said-Ball basis functions as a special case, are constructed in this paper. The new basis is applied to generate a class ofC1continuous quartic rational Hermite interpolation splines with local tension shape parameters. The error estimate expression of the proposed interpolant is given and the sufficient conditions are derived for constructing aC1positivity- or monotonicity- preserving interpolation spline. In addition, we extend the quartic rational Said-Ball-like basis to a triangular domain which has three tension shape parameters and includes the cubic triangular Said-Ball basis as a special case. In order to compute the corresponding patch stably and efficiently, a new de Casteljau-type algorithm is developed. Moreover, theG1continuous conditions are deduced for the joining of two patches.

A biquartic rational interpolation spline surface over rectangular domain is constructed in this paper, which includes the classical bicubic Coons surface as a special case. Sufficient conditions for generating shape preserving interpolation splines for positive or monotonic surface data are deduced. The given numeric experiments show our method can deal with surface construction from positive or monotonic data effectively.

This paper considers the problem of guaranteed cost and finite-time event-triggered control of fractional-order switched systems. Firstly, an event-triggered scheme including both the information of current state and an exponential decay function is proposed, and a novel cost function that adopts the characteristics of fractional-order integration is presented. Secondly, some sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee that the corresponding closed-loop system is finite-time stable with a certain cost upper bound, using multiple Lyapunov functions and average dwell time approach. Meanwhile, the event-triggered parameters and state feedback gains are simultaneously obtained via solving linear matrix inequalities. Moreover, Zeno behavior does not exist by finding a positive lower bound of the triggered interval. Finally, an example about fractional-order switched electrical circuit is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper we study the robust control problems with respect to the finite-time interval of uncertain non-linear Markov jump systems. By means of Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models, the overall closed-loop fuzzy dynamics are constructed through selected membership functions. By using the stochastic Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional approach, a sufficient condition is firstly established on the stochastic robust finite-time stabilization. Then, in terms of linear matrix inequalities techniques, the sufficient conditions on the existence of the stochastic finite-time controller are presented and proved. Finally, the design problem is formulated as an optimization one. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
