This study aims to ascertain primary school teachers’ views on learning and teaching in the context of the value-based approach and to explore the values teachers rely on in their daily work. The theoretical framework of the study draws on the principles of social constructivist approach to learning, which also constitutes the basis of the new National Curriculum for Basic Schools of the Republic of Estonia. The study is based on the survey of 359 primary school teachers. The analysis produced a five-factor model, showing satisfactory factor loadings for each. The study revealed that teachers’ beliefs about traditional and constructivist teaching styles are somewhat contradictory, expressing on the one hand support to the constructivist approach to learning, but admitting at the same time that for both themselves and their students the traditional teaching style is more convenient. However, the majority of teachers believe that adherence to social constructivist learning principles yields better knowledge and practical skills. In primary school teachers’ approach to learning and teaching the most important key point is the acquisition of knowledge and useful skills, implemented through cooperation and favourable learning environment. The popularity of e-learning (EL) largely infiltrated into every sector of South African institutions of higher learning. This growing interest in EL is due to the advent of rapid internet technologies. For decades, South African institutions of higher learning have accepted EL as a vital learning tool for the enhancement of learning and teaching within the higher education sector. However, there are countless challenges that continue to hinder learning and teaching activities. This study seeks to determine the relationships between various challenges and EL capabilities through stated hypotheses. The study is a descriptive, qualitative design aided by a quantitative approach that were applied to collect data. In total 150 full and part-time ICT students including four permanent ICT lecturers participated in the study. By means of statistical methods of descriptive, inferential statistics aided by independent t-tests, three stated hypotheses were formulated and tested. The study therefore, recommends that higher institutions of learning should increase investments in various EL programs including relevant ICT infrastructure development and also in levels of connectivity. The study further recommends that EL contents should be designed taking into account the cultural characteristics of students.

Media-related rhetoric plays a remarkable role in the context of school (re)forms, whether the arguments are euphoric or skeptical about media. On the one hand, there are reminders of the need for sheltered spaces and developmental tasks for children and adolescents, for the detailed differentiation of literacy as an educational task, or for maximizing equal opportunities. In these cases, media are mostly seen as means of learning, education or development advancement. On the other hand, debates also deal with the development of adequate infrastructures for learning and teaching with more-or-less «new» media, media-based school development projects, or the implementation of e-learning strategies. Here it is striking that, on closer observation, innovative efforts frequently turn out to be structural-conservative administrative measures which fail to address the contemporary media-anthropological, media-epistemological and media-cultural challenges. The focus of the article is on school-based monopolies of education and information. It explores expanded perspectives of reflection and action-orientation in light of the theory of medial forms.

This paper concentrates on the impact of the use of E-learning tools during the COVID-19 pandemic. In more detail, this study reviews the literature on the integration of e-learning strategies into universities or schools due to difficulties with face-to-face learning caused by the coronavirus. The results of the review indicate that E-learning applications have proven to be very useful for learners and educators since they allow them to continue with their learning and teaching. However, some issues have emerged from the use of technology in institutions such as technical issues and a lack of training. Some recommendations will be provided in this paper.

Collaboration is a learning strategy used in various domains such as e-health, e-business, e-education, e-government and e-research. In e-learning and under a constructivist approach, collaboration is expected to increase the performance of students. Although it can be used without digital media, given the pervasiveness of technology, their systematic application by educational institutions as instructional tools is nowadays common. In this work, we present our anecdotal experience to introduce collaborative learning at one of the main universities in Venezuela and analyze the results in terms of how students perceived what they learned, how they apprehended collaborative work and we describe a set of collaborative learning strategies with digital media and independent interaction tools that were chosen in this experience by students and teachers. These results will be used for improving the programs and courses in informatics aimed at preparing educators with a profile taking into account ICT’s.

This paper discusses online learning in the digital era by reviewing various international publications. This study is interesting given the growth of schools offering online education. This trend continues to develop, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, which caused all social activities to stop. For that reason, we are interested in discussing online learning strategies, enriching the learning experience. Our analytical process involves coding, evaluation, and in-depth interpretation to obtain valid and reliable findings. We conducted data searches with the help of electronic searches on the Google Scholar app, ERIC publications, and Academic Microsoft between 2015 and publication in 2021. As a result, online educational activities have won a place in the hearts of students and teachers, which occur automatically through website technology. More specifically, this is called "e-learning." This is a promising distance learning that has become a trend for students and scientists and has become a way for people to get information about their needs.
