Today, suppliers of companies are no longer local. Companies have to offer their products to the market just in time and as fast as possible in order to compete. This situation is possible by establishing an effective supply chain for the goods and services they need in the manufacturing system. Finding the right suppliers who are able to provide the companies with the high quality products and services at the reasonable price, at just on time and in the right quantities is an important issue concerned in the process of supply chains concept. There are certain techniques developed in this respect. Some of such methods are approaches developed for situations unmindful of fuzziness and vagueness. Nonetheless, the process of supplier selection contains both vagueness and fuzziness. This study improves the Grey Relational Analysis and VIKOR methods, to fuzzy and ambiguous environments. Then, these approaches are applied to a supplier selection problem, which is previously solved through fuzzy logic and AHP method in literature, and the comparative results of both techniques are given.

The cement industry is an industry that is desperately needed by public. Cement always used to make houses, buildings, bridges and other buildings. Heightened demand for cement, making PT Semen Padang, which is one of the largest producers of cement in Indonesia, wants to increase the productivity of cement annually. One way is to set up a new cement plant that is able to meet consumer demand. The establishment of a new plant would require careful planning, especially planning development and planning costs. To set up a new plant, also required the planning of goods and services to be used in its manufacture. Therefore, it is necessary a good supplier that is able to provide the needs according to required specifications. The Indarung Project VI, PT Semen Padang requires the right supplier selection method, so as to provide quality goods and services. Method of procurement of goods and services performed Indarung Project VI, PT Semen Padang today is the commonly used method of procurement. AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) is a systematic method and does not require a long time, and can show priority weights of criteria and selected suppliers. This study using AHP to select suppliers of goods and services in the Indarung Project VI, PT Semen Padang. Based on supplier selection has been made, PT ABB Industrial Way elected as a supplier to supply substations for the Indarung Project VI, PT Semen Padang. Keywords: Analytical Hierarchy Process, priority weight, supplierAbstrakIndustri semen merupakan industri yang sangat dibutuhkan masyarakat umum.

Internet of things (IoT) can provide an extensive scope of services via smart devices to promote the convenience of life. With advances being made in smart phones, enterprises are increasingly considering expanding their customer base through mobile commerce services. To promote m-commerce improvement, enterprises should organize an excellent m-commerce environment and attempt to realize user needs in the era of IoT. In a fuzzy environment of the real world, objective decision-making for m-commerce improvement is usually a FMADM problem involving feedback-effect and interdependence among the dimensions and criteria. But, many traditional decision models cannot conduct the complicated interrelationships among dimensions and criteria. This study proposes an improvement model that can promote m-commerce improvement towards achieving the aspiration level in fuzzy environment. The proposed hybrid model conducts the feedback-effect and dependence among attributes, and it combines the FDEMATEL technique, FDANP, and MFGRA methods. The empirical case study was conducted to prove the utility of the new hybrid FMADM model in evaluating an m-commerce environment. Comparative results exhibited that the proposed approach is superior to the traditional method and that it can obtain most real grey relational degree that can be used for establishing the best performance improvement strategy in reality.

Materials constitute a large proportion of the total project cost and the absence of right materials in the right quantities and quality on site when needed is one of the most commonly experienced causes of delays in construction projects. Although supplier selection is a strategic issue, contractors generally select suppliers based on their past experiences, which may result in selecting wrong suppliers. Supplier selection decision is generally made by multiple decision makers and is affected by several criteria. Therefore, selecting the right supplier among many alternatives considering several compromising and conflicting criteria is a multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) problem. This paper proposes an integrated fuzzy MCGDM approach, which employs fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) together, for the supplier selection problem. In the proposed approach, fuzzy AHP is used to analyse the structure of the supplier selection problem and to determine the weights of the criteria, and the fuzzy TOPSIS method is employed to rank the alternative suppliers. The proposed approach is applied to a problem of selecting the most appropriate rail supplier and company management found the proposed decision approach satisfactory and implementable in future supplier selection problems.

Supplier selection is one of the most critical processes within the purchasing function. Choosing the right supplier makes a strategic difference to an organization’s ability to reduce costs and improve the quality of products by helping to select the most suitable supplier. Sütaş Dairy Company, which is entered to Macedonia market in 2012. In the dairy company, there is only one purchasing manager who selects the farmers. Importance weights of criteria are determined using his reference, and also the alternatives are evaluated according to each criterion. The most important criteria are product and other costs, the price is also playing an important role, but due to the small marketplace of Macedonia, the prices are almost the same in every region. To select the dairy supplier in Macedonia, Fuzzy-TOPSIS technique is used. The main goal of using fuzzy logic in this study is to help decision-makers for identifying the importance of selection criteria and rank possible suppliers easily. Since the supplier selection process is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem, after identify the weights and rankings in a fuzzy environment, TOPSIS algorithm has been used in the rest of the problem. Finally, fuzzy TOPSIS methodology has been implemented successfully, and its result pointed out the most suitable suppliers.
