Virtual Enterprise Network Solutions and Monitoring as Support for Geographically Dispersed Business

Transnational enterprises are assigning design and production around the world, but research is aimed to generate and support the enterprises’ networks formation and operation as virtual enterprises through the setting-up of service-oriented workspace environments. We consider here a role-based authorization approach to service invocation as necessary in order to enhance and guarantee the integrity of the transactions that take place in the business environment of a virtual enterprise. The virtual enterprise network and the virtual team are the main concepts used in analyzing the network architecture for geographically dispersed enterprises as support for business development. Using this e-business oriented paradigm this chapter presents an enterprise network monitoring solution based on open source software (OSS) implemented in the PREMINV Research Center, at the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest.

In order to be competitive enterprises continuously implement ICT strategies & architectures to improve manufacture, research, products quality, sales, services and costs control. All large enterprises have a local area network, a virtual private network, an Intranet and Internet, servers and workstations for operations, administration and management working together for the same objective: profits. The virtual enterprise and the virtual team?s concepts are discussed in this article. This work analyzes the network architecture for geographically dispersed enterprises (seen as virtual enterprises) as support for virtual project development by virtual teams work. In addition, the paper presents an enterprise networks monitoring solution using open source software (OSS).

Virtual enterprises consisting of geographically dispersed, independent units are a reality in the global economy. These units concentrate on core technologies and create partner networks for the design, manufacturing and sale of their products. This chapter documents a methodology, more flexible and efficient than the more traditional techniques, to schedule activities in virtual enterprises and enterprise networks. The presented technique that stepwise searches for improved activity schedules has the advantage that in any stage of the iteration process a resource-feasible schedule is available. Investing in network and computation capacity will result in more efficient schedules. The virtual enterprise unit will view the platform as a time-phased capacity trading marketplace.

Globalization and the borderless marketplace have created an opportunity for companies to come together to work on projects that could otherwise not be completed through the efforts of one or two companies acting independently. The formation of virtual enterprise networks combines the advantages of the various core competencies of members of the network to deliver customer satisfaction. Virtual enterprise networks consist of several firms that can be geographically dispersed, and that might be technically disparate in terms of system platforms. Coordination among members of the network and the the transfer of quality products and services among members of the network are the key factors in achieving success. The proposed framework presented in this paper utilizes a multi‐agent model to monitor quality within a virtual enterprise network to ensure that the processes among members run smoothly and efficiently.

Modern information systems are extending the traditional boundaries of organizations incorporating external recourses in the form of data and services. The need to support increasing client demands has led to dynamic and more complex business processes. Complex workflows in networked organizations are much more difficult to manage since traditional approaches are not suited for distributed environments. Service-Oriented approaches in the form of Web or Grid services bear the potential of increased performance and flexibility. In this work, we discuss the use of a relatively new computing paradigm that leverages distributed service-oriented business models: the Grid. We discuss how the Grid can facilitate efficient intra-business processes in highly dynamic virtual enterprises and present a high level architecture for managing complexity of business functions using Grid services.

The purpose of this research is to explain the importance of the student organizations and describe their efforts to improve the speaking skills of students at the Mahad Khalid Bin Al Waleed at the University of Muhammadiyah Mataram. This research uses the qualitative approach with the descriptive type. The result shows the student organizations play an important role based on their objectives and functions. The objectives are to help the foundation and all parties in the Ma'had develop the students’ potential and qualification, and to be the place for the students to share their problems and complaints, while the functions are as one of the media to develop students’ quality, both the members of the non-member, and as the good examples and pioneers of any good deeds. The efforts done by student organizations in improving speaking skills are such as by making activities that lead to improving students' speaking skills like sticking vocabularies in each class and Friday activities such as language game, Arabic debate and short lecture.

The article seeks to explore the issues of building brand capital in cluster entrepreneurship on the principles of sharing economy. To gain better awareness and clarity, the study offers insights on major characteristics and contradictions embedded in the definition of a "sharing economy" which made possible to view it as a new socioeconomic model of doing business, according to which access to goods and services with excess opportunities is provided through online platforms. It is argued that the process of business activity in the frameworks of sharing economy triggers a new pattern of consolidation of individuals, consumers, entrepreneurs and companies (which is an integration association in nature) and therefore, the brand of an individual, consumer, entrepreneur, company or the state as a whole acts as an integrative element in the transition toward the concept of a new, sharing economy. The synergistic combination of structural and consumer capital formation models, substantiation of the main tenets of the modern concept of sharing economy and the projection of specific features of brand capital onto a three-level plane of macro-, mezo- and microeconomic levels offers a new cluster-based entrepreneurship model of building brand capital. Thus, the study of essential trends in brand capital formation within cluster entrepreneurship based on the principles of sharing economy has revealed that the core of this model is the virtual business environment of cognitive interaction of the sharing economy participants. The authors suggest that such simulated organizational structure  with a tiered peer-to-peer network architecture will facilitate the effect of integrity in the process of building the national brand capital (empowering ordinary people and entrepreneurs; utilizing resources effectively; enhancing the degree of corporate social responsibility; realizing the principles of fair distribution of value; more democratic arrangement of entrepreneurship and raising environmental awareness, as well as offering a new pattern of bringing people together) that fits modern global technology development trends.

The service-oriented approach of the university academic library is highlighted: The social institution of services is to increase quality of living, to be a tool of socializing and adaptation. The authors conclude that in the context of the education new paradigm the services make the focus of Prioksky State University Library to foster efficient library operation and coordination within the university divisions.
