The main objective of this chapter is to address the facility design and location issues in a public bike transportation system. The major decisions in introducing a public bike transportation system include determining the number of bike facilities and their locations. The present chapter considers a case study from city of Vancouver bike transportation system to demonstrate the importance of these decisions through a real world application. The city intends to decide the number and location of bike terminals. Addressing these two decisions is the main focus of the present chapter and the chapter employs linear programming and center of gravity approaches to arrive at the solutions. The chapter also provides a basic introduction to bike facilities and discusses the sustainability benefits of bike transportation mode.

The purposes of this chapter are threefold: to explore the research on and relationships among metacognition, reflection, and self-regulated learning; to analyze students' experiences with metacognition, reflection, and self-regulated learning activities in computer-based learning (CBL) courses; and to provide strategies that can be used in a CBL environment to promote students' metacognition, reflection, and self-regulation. A review of underlying frameworks for and prior study findings in metacognition and reflection are presented. Case study findings are also described and form the basis for the suggested strategies. The value and implications of using such strategies are also offered. Finally, future research should address the teaching of metacognition and reflection in CBL environments with an emphasis on real world application.

[ID] Dalam upaya menciptakan suatu system transportasi yang baik di kota Pekanbaru, keberadaan Trans Metro Pekanbaru sebagai moda transportasi utama amat perlu dikembangkan secara konsisten dan menerus. Setiap rute pelayanan tersebut memiliki karakteristik tersendiri terkait jenis pelayanan dan karakteristik rute yang dilayani. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas pelayanan dalam perbandingan rute pelayanan agar menjadi pertimbangan dalam perhitungan kualitas pelayanan angkutan umum Trans Metro Pekanbaru. Batasan dari penelitian ini adalah hanya membandingkan dua rute perjalanan, yakni rute 2 yang menghubungkan Terminal BRPS-Kulim (rute komersial) dan rute 3 yang menghubungkan Ramayana-UIN Suska Panam (Rute komersial dan pendidikan). Analisis IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) digunakan untuk mengetahui kualitas pelayanan antar rute perjalanan Trans Metro Pekanbaru sehingga memudahkan dalam penentuan prioritas bagi Trans Metro dalam melakukan peningkatan pelayanannya untuk setiap rute pelayanan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 279 orang untuk setiap rute perjalanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pada setiap rute perjalanan. Secara umum, Hal ini dikarenakan penumpang memberi alasan tentang ketertarikan untuk menggunakan Trans Metro Pekanbaru adalah lebih menarik dibanding moda yang lain. Sehingga, strategi peningkatan kualitas dari segi waktu pelayanan menjadi perhatian serius bagi Trans Metro Pekanbaru untuk mencapai sebuah system transportasi yang lebih baik dan menuju transportasi yang berkelanjutan di kota Pekanbaru. [EN] In an effort to create a good transportation system in the city of Pekanbaru, the existence of Trans Metro Pekanbaru as the main transportation mode is very necessary to be developed consistently and continuously. Each service route has its own characteristics related to the type of service and the characteristics of the routes served. The purpose of this research is to find out the quality of service in the comparison of service routes so that it becomes a consideration in calculating the quality of Trans Metro Pekanbaru public transportation services. The limitation of this study is to only compare two travel routes, namely route 2 which connects BRPS-Kulim Terminal (commercial route) and route 3 which connects Suska Panam Ramayana-UIN (commercial and educational routes). IPA analysis (Importance-Performance Analysis) is used to determine the quality of service between Trans Metro Pekanbaru travel routes so as to facilitate the prioritization of Trans Metro in improving its services for each service route. The study sample was 279 people for each route. The results of the study show that there are differences in each route. In general, this is because passengers giving reasons for their interest in using Trans Metro Pekanbaru are more attractive than other modes. Thus, the strategy of improving quality in terms of service time is a serious concern for Trans Metro Pekanbaru to achieve a better transportation system and towards sustainable transportation in the city of Pekanbaru.

Emphasizing a transdisciplinary research model for distributed usability testing, this article offers a case study for establishing successful academic-industry partnerships. The authors describe the collaboration process between the co-investigators in this partnership: the UX researchers, the user participants, and the stakeholders at the industry company. The authors explain how they used the transdisciplinary research model to write a winning proposal for collaboration and then highlight how the benefits of a transdisciplinary research model were realized in practice. The implications of the authors' findings support developing UX curriculum and pedagogy in ways that emphasize real-world application tied to transdisciplinary research teams and formal, distributed usability testing.

The Urban spatial structure is affected by spatial interactions among various activity locations, and land uses in the city over the transportation system. Each city has its unique circulation pattern of passengers and freight due to its unique geographic conditions and the distribution of locations of economic activities. In that sense, it is claimed in this chapter per the authors that urban spatial structure can be modeled using interzonal (O/D) travel data. Thus, the chapter presents a case study of modeling spatial structures developed by employing Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) using travel pattern data for current and future scenarios. As a result, urban growth and expansion were estimated based on the level of interaction (represented by distance or similarity modeled based on trip interchanges) over the transportation system in terms of population and/or employment increases. The interaction was described by a measure of distance or similarity, modeled with respect to trip interchanges.

Communication Technology is growing rapidly, it reflects the social behavior of people in this digital era. Harassment is common in real world, thus it is also often in virtual life which leads to cyber harassment or cyberbullying. This research focuses on the Facebook users in reaction to the electing stimulus they got. The behavior of cyberbullying communication is an adverse behavior not only for the object (victim) but also the subject (actor) of cyberbullying itself. The purpose of this research is to identify the respondent behavior and as operant behavior. This research utilize a descriptive-qualitative approach using case study method. The electing stimulations found in the form of online (online interaction through Facebook) or offline (based on real world interaction, not via Facebook) stimuli. Based on the observation and interview with respondent, it can be concluded that there are three forms of cyberbullying communication behavior by youngadults in Palu City that occurred on Facebook, namely impersonation, denunciation, and flame war.

The Street Routing Problem (SRP) is a special case of the well-known Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). The goal is to service a large number of customers in the city zone. New heuristics for solving a complex SRP is evaluated based on real data. This paper presents several approximations to the length of SRP using the mixed transportation mode and compares them with the published approximations used for VRP or Travelling Salesman Problems (TSP). The system was tested in five real world instances ranging from 12 000 to 29 000 customers.
