The study investigates the factors influencing business continuity during adversities like COVID-19. It further sheds light on priorities for preparedness measures that need to be taken to ensure continuity during these adversities. Exploratory research was conducted in the form of focussed interviews with 20 senior management industry professionals, and these were analyzed using N-Vivo, and four important determinants of business continuity were identified based on which a research model was conceptualized using business continuity as dependent variable and others as independent variables. The model was further tested using quantitative research. For this purpose, a questionnaire was prepared, and a total of 200 responses were collected representing 26 sectors. These responses were analyzed using factor and variance analysis, and a multiple regression analysis was performed to test the role of these variables on business continuity. It was further concluded that the factors that ensure business continuity differ according to the industry in which the business is operating.

The purpose of the research is to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on higher education policies and their effect on students' academic performance at public universities in Ethiopia. The study adopts a quantitative approach followed by causal analysis by applying structural equation modeling. A sample of 384 has been selected through simple random sampling out of a large population of academic staff spread homogeneously across Ethiopia. The study variables are COVID-19, higher education policies, digital learning, teacher preparedness, and student academic performance. The findings reveal that the hypothesized model becomes a perfect fit. Based on the standardized coefficient, the most influencing path is the effect of higher education policy on digital learning, followed by the impact of COVID-19 on higher education policy, academic performance, and teacher preparedness, respectively. The study has further observed the partial effect of teacher preparedness on the students' academic performance.

In March of 2020, the United States activated nationwide pandemic response protocols due to the swift spread of Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019, also known as COVID-19. Amidst the domestic response, urgency surrounded the need to build collective awareness of the signs, symptoms, and preventive measures of the virus. As the virus spread and historically marginalized communities were disproportionately impacted with rates of infection, the need to explore the presence of disparities in health communication, health education, and personal health literacy surfaced. The research contained within this study examines the root cause of the gap in health literacy for communities of color and presents actionable next steps to increase positive healthcare outcomes for all.

COVID-19 has been primarily regarded as a respiratory disease, and until a safer and effective treatment or vaccine becomes available, the prevention of COVID-19 may continue through interventions based on non-pharmaceutical measures such as maintaining of physical distances and use of personal protective equipment like facemasks, etc. Therefore, an attempt was made in this study to explore the drawbacks with the presently available facemasks for protection from COVID-19 viruses in the state of Odisha in India, and also to explore the possible opportunities for further development of these facemasks. The associated discomforts; strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis of existing facemasks in Odisha; possible opportunities for “Make in India” of these facemasks; along with safer use have been analyzed with the help of interpretive structural modelling (ISM) approach followed by MICMAC analysis.

Work from home (or remote working) has become the new normal ever since the pandemic hit the world. This new normal, which represents the unison of social and technical assemblage, has been used as a backdrop in the study to explore the nature of employee job behaviour and its impact on job satisfaction. The sample consisted of employees who are working remotely from their homes in the information technology sector. The Cronbach alpha of the questionnaire was found to be .862. The results indicate that dimensions of employee job behaviour like enhanced work association, need for interaction for information exchange, and increased work responsibility were found to be highly correlated in the backdrop of work from home. Further, employee job behaviour was found to be significantly impacting job satisfaction of employees in the backdrop of work from home.

The paper aims to analyse the impact of the COVID outbreak on the currency market. The study considers spot rates of seven major currencies (i.e., EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD, AUD/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF, and CHF/JPY). To capture the impact of the outbreak on returns and the volatility of returns of seven currencies during pandemic, the study has segregated in two window periods (i.e., pre- [1st Jan 2019 to 31st Dec, 2019] and post-outbreak of COVID-19 [1st Jan, 2020 to 22nd Dec, 2020]). The study has applied various methods and models (i.e., econometric-based compounded annual growth rate [CAGR], dummy variable regression, and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity [GARCH]). The result of the study captures the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on three currencies—USD/JPY, AUD/USD, and USD/CHF—and positive significant impact on EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CAD, and CHF/JPY. Investors can take short position in these while having long position in other currencies. The inferences drawn from the analysis are providing insight to investors and hedgers.

Despite increasing technological dynamism and plausibility in many environments, poor services continue to be rendered because the IT solutions that are selected, deployed and used by the Nigerian banks are challenged by both technical and non-technical factors. The challenges could be attributed to lack of evaluation, causing ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and inconsistency in the processes, interactions and activities where IT solutions are applied. Thus, the study’s objectives is to identify, examine and gain an understanding of the factors that influence the selection, deployment and evaluation of the IT solutions that are used by the Nigerian banks. The interpretivist approach and qualitive method were followed. Following the interpretivist paradigm, the analysis was conducted using the hermeneutics approach. Based on the findings and interpretation, a model was developed, intended for actors that have stake in IT solutions in the two banks, to gain better understanding of the factors that can influence evaluation.

It is common knowledge that organizations today face the challenges of growing competition. Therefore, organizations need to develop smarter to plan for several diverse and real-time challenges. The aim of this paper is to test the impact of knowledge management (KM) processes, organizational capabilities (OC), and mediating KM mechanisms and KM technologies toward a smart organization (SO). In this paper, structural equation modeling was applied by using Smart PLS 3.3.3 software to test hypotheses and the accuracy of the suggested model. The results showed a direct impact between all constructs and are a reflection of the SO of the employees (N=225) working in three Jordanian telecommunications companies. Additionally, the outcomes provision the partial mediating role of KM mechanisms and KM technology with OC in the SO. These outcomes can support leaders in generating a consciousness in addition to favorable OC, KM mechanisms, and KM technologies inside the organization, which enables the actual implementation of SO and uses the outcomes to plan their SO strategies.

Big data analysis applications in the field of medical image processing have recently increased rapidly. Feature reduction plays a significant role in eliminating irrelevant features and creating a successful research model for Big Data applications. Fuzzy clustering is used for the segment of the nucleus. Various features, including shape, texture, and color-based features, have been used to address the segmented nucleus. The Modified Dominance Soft Set Feature Selection Algorithm (MDSSA) is intended in this paper to determine the most important features for the classification of leukaemia images. The results of the MDSSA are evaluated using the variance analysis called ANOVA. In the dataset extracted function, the MDSSA selected 17 percent of the features that were more promising than the existing reduction algorithms. The proposed approach also reduces the time needed for further analysis of Big Data. The experimental findings confirm that the performance of the proposed reduction approach is higher than other approaches.

The paper aims to examine the publications on turnaround strategies and identify scientific gaps. Hence, bibliographic couplings of countries, institutions, journals, publications, authors, and co-occurrences of the author keywords were analyzed. Bibliographic methods were employed to examine and visualize the characteristics of the publications with the aid of VOSViewer software. Using 174 articles from the Scopus database, the results revealed that corporate distress, turnaround, organizational decline, turnaround strategies, corporate strategy, financial distress, retrenchment, turnaround strategy, and turnarounds were among the most studied key concepts in this area, The “Journal of Strategy and Management” and “European Management Journal” were the top journals. United States, United Kingdom, and India were the most influential countries. The Fort Hays University and McMurry University were top research institutions. Notably, Huang, Y., Reddy, K.S., and Xie, E. were the most influential authors in this research area. These results will help academicians and practitioners.
