The sands of education are constantly shifting, and in order to stay significant, higher educational institutions (HEIs) need to reinvent themselves in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. With high global unemployment rates of fresh graduates and internal institutional challenges, future conscious HEIs understand the importance of the need to redesigned curriculum, content, and assessments to prepare graduates for employment. Through a detailed evaluation of the newly developed Taylor's curriculum framework (TCF), this chapter will elaborate on the core purposes of this curriculum framework and the governing principles in redesigning a curriculum that focuses on the 21st century needs. By shifting the focus from teaching to learning and by redirecting the focus of assessment from knowledge base to skills base, HEI graduates will be equipped meet the needs of industry, the Fourth Industrial Age and beyond.

Engineering is crucial for economic development in developed and developing countries. With various changes taking place globally over the years, it has had influence on all aspect of human endeavor and we are now at a time of pervasive breakout of technologies known as the fourth industrial revolution. This study therefore conceptualizes excellence VS relevance in engineering education in the era of the fourth industrial revolution by first demystifying what the fourth industrial revolution is and then conceptualizing excellence and relevance in engineering education. Findings from the study revealed that Findings from the study revealed that the world is at a stage of massive changes and this requires solutions to these numerous changes. It was also found out that excellence and relevance are not new as it is a common term used across various spheres of human life especially within the university where excellence in research and learning is emphasized. The study recommended that STEM education should be encouraged across board so as to develop the skills necessary in the fourth industrial age and also effort should be made at intensifying action on adopting some of the technologies that are emerging in the fourth industrial revolution especially in the developing countries.

Every country is currently preparing themselves for the fourth industrial revolution, the environment where innovation is the key concept for survival. Most of the countries have developed framework for their e-government development. Unfortunately, most of these frameworks do not contain adequate details on what are the activities required if big data will be used as a backbone of all services. This research focuses on proposing a conceptual framework for development of e-government in Thailand. The proposed framework explicitly contains all important activities to be completed if big data will serve as the core component of all services for their citizens.

Literature has argued for the importance of developing complex problem-solving and active learning capabilities among the graduates in response to the challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Literature has also argued for the need to promote interdisciplinary and personalised learning to nurture such future-ready graduates. To effectively fulfil and sustain this expectation, higher education curriculum must be designed to become more fluid and organic, promoting more personalized and interdisciplinary learning. This chapter outlines a curriculum framework as well as key principles and lessons learned in developing a fluid and organic curriculum through broad-based and flexible programme options. The chapter also highlights the importance of efficiency consideration to ensure scalability across a university. It is believed that such fluid and organic curricula caters to the changing demands of the industry as well as diverse learner career aspirations, interests, and the capability of learners.

With the development in the fourth industrial revolution, there have been urgent demands for new human resources in the world. The mission set for the education sector is to prepare students with skills and knowledge in line with global standards to keep up with the industrial age 4.0. Among the educational trends that serve the fourth industrial revolution, STEM education has been demonstrating its superiority through various studies. This study applies the STEMTech model, which connects the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with a central technological factor, to create STEM products in the context of high schools in Vietnam recently. Firstly, the research trains students about STEM education, STEMTech model, and some new technologies; then divides the class into multiple groups of students to conduct a project based on STEMTech model; finally, surveys students. Statistical analysis was used to evaluate STEMTech model, whose results show that STEMTech model can engage students in learning, develop their creativity, and promote other competencies.

Higher education in the fourth industrial revolution (HE 4.0) is a complex, dialectical and exciting opportunity which can potentially transform society for the better. The fourth industrial revolution is powered by artificial intelligence and it will transform the workplace from tasks based characteristics to the human centred characteristics. Because of the convergence of man and machine, it will reduce the subject distance between humanities and social science as well as science and technology. This will necessarily require much more interdisciplinary teaching, research and innovation. This paper explores the impact of HE 4.0 on the mission of a university which is teaching, research (including innovation) and service.

At the threshold of a Fourth Industrial Revolution, a combination of factors will cause business model disruptions triggering a simultaneous impact on the employment landscape over the coming years. The changes will affect the employment scenery across various industries, ranging from significant job creation to job displacement, and from heightened labor productivity to widening skills gaps. As a reaction to this volatile and unpredictable work environment, where individuals are compelled to mind their own careers and stable long-term employment is not granted for anyone, vocational psychology, educational institutions and educators are urged to address the issues of employability.The current paper discusses the reasons leading up to the evolving world of employment and the stances/options that institutions and individuals can take to tackle the situation.
