AbstractSmooth approaches are able to model reasonably well contact/impact events between two bodies, showing some peculiarities when dealing with certain geometries and arising certain issues with the detection of the initial instant of contact. The characterization of multiple-simultaneous interaction systems, considering (or not) energy dissipation phenomena (mainly friction), is always an interesting research topic, addressed from different perspectives. In the present work, the process of design, optimization and verification of a multiple-impact, day-to-day multibody novel model is shown. Specifically, we have decided to focus on a pool/billiard game due to its geometry simplicity. The model involves several balls moving freely and rolling, suffering different kinds of contacts/impacts among them and against the cushions and the cloth. In this system, the proper modelling of both contact and friction forces in the multiple, simultaneous contacts and impacts events is critical to obtain consistent results. In addition, these forces are complicated to model because of its nonlinear behaviour. The different existing approaches when dealing with multiple-contact events are briefly described, along with their most distinctive features. Then, the interactions identified on the model are implemented using several nonlinear contact-force models, following a smooth-based approach and considering friction phenomena, aiming at determining the most suitable set of both contact and friction force models for each of these implemented interactions, which take place simultaneously, thus resulting in a complex system with multiple impacts. Subsequently, the solving method that provides the most accurate results at the minimum computational cost is determined by testing a simple shot. Finally, the different interactions on the model are verified using experimental results and previous works. One of the main goals of this work is to show the some of the issues that arise when dealing with multiple-simultaneous impact multibody systems from a smooth-contact approach, and how researchers can deal with them.

Children and Adolescents are seen to be using cell phonesand the internet to gather information and communicate with each other across the country. This way of communication with others is the unique feature of the Digital Age which gives powerful new styles for children and adolescents to create and peregrinate their social environments. Digital Age has a simultaneous impact on Children and Adolescents along with their physical development and development of identity, morality, and sexuality.Existing Published literatureindicated that connections between children and adolescents playing violent video games can cause aggressive behavioral problems later on.Digital Age has been known to have its impact on children and adolescents in form of diminished cognitive skills and poor academic and social development in addition to poor relationshipsandperceptionsof reality.

PurposeDrawing on the stereotype content model (SCM), the authors investigate the stereotype content transfer (in terms of warmth and competence) from country to brand and the simultaneous impact of these two stereotypes on consumer responses toward brands.Design/methodology/approachThe authors test a structural equation model conceptualizing brand stereotypes as full mediators between country stereotypes and consumer outcomes. In addition, in a moderated mediation analysis, the authors investigate the role of brand typicality and utilitarianism/hedonism in potentially moderating the country to brand stereotype content transfer.FindingsCountry warmth and competence, respectively, impact brand warmth and competence, thus confirming the hypothesized stereotype content transfer. This transfer is found to be robust and not contingent on brands' perceived typicality of their country of origin. However, brands' utilitarian nature amplifies the positive impact of country competence on brand competence. Finally, brand stereotypes fully mediate the impact of country stereotypes on consumers' brand attitudes and behavioral intentions.Originality/valueThe authors provide the first empirical attempt that (1) explicitly differentiates between consumers' stereotypical perceptions of countries and stereotypical perceptions of brands from these countries, (2) empirically examines the transfer of stereotypical dimensions of different targets (i.e. country to brand), (3) explores boundary conditions for such transfer and (4) simultaneously considers the impact of both kinds of stereotypes on managerially relevant consumer outcomes.

The purpose of this study, among others, is to partially determine the effect of product quality on purchasing decisions for Philips products at PT. Sumber Peni Karya Pekanbaru, to partly assess the impact of price on buying decisions for Philips products at PT. Sumber Peni Karya Pekanbaru, to determine the effect of promotion partially on purchasing decisions at PT. Sumber Peni Karya Pekanbaru, and to assess the impact of product quality, price, and promotion simultaneously on purchasing decisions at PT. Source of Peni Karya. The population in this study amounted to 47 people, while the sample obtained was 47 samples. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are that product quality affects purchasing decisions, and the price has a significant effect on purchasing decisions. The promotion does not affect purchasing decisions, and product quality, price, and advertising have a simultaneous or simultaneous impact on buying decisions.

This article analyzes the contagion effect on business failure, focusing on the Spanish hotel sector. The sample consists of 3,948 hotel micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises in the 2012-2015 period and includes variables related to characteristics of the hotel and tourist destination. The results show that the contagion effect is significant, increasing the explanatory capacity of the model. Moreover, the results show that the analysis of the contagion effect should consider not only its simultaneous impact but also that deferred over time on the probability of failure. Thereby, this study found that after the initial shock, the contagion effect decreases and changes its sign from negative to positive in the fourth year.

The most important trends in modern social development are economic convergence and digitalization. It is their interaction that creates new opportunities for increasing competitiveness and efficiency in the framework of joint business of representatives of various segments and sectors of the economy. The main institutional and organizational form of doing business within the framework of intersectoral economic convergence under the influence of digitalization is becoming an ecosystem. The aim of the article is to clarify the concept of an ecosystem as a form of joint business in the context of intersectoral economic convergence and digitalization, as well as to build a classification of ecosystems. The study puts forward the following hypothesis the ecosystem as an institutional and organizational form of running a joint business is the result of the simultaneous influence of intersectoral economic convergence and digitalization on it, and “the connection of the basic product provided to the client by the initiator of the intersectoral economic convergence before the creation of the ecosystem with digital and/or information technology ”can be used for the economic ecosystems classification. The novelty of the approach is the following. Considering an ecosystem as a form of joint business running with the simultaneous impact of economic intersectoral convergence and digitalization on it makes it possible to clarify the concept of an ecosystem, highlight as the ecosystem parameter used to the ecosystem classify and as its main characteristic, the values of which can be used to construct a classification of economic ecosystems.

This research aims to uncovered and evaluated those issues which related to the influences that appeared from transformational leadership and organizational commitment towards turnover intention through job satisfaction as a mediator at Operational Directorate employees of PT XYZ. The design which currently used in this research was causality analysis to revealed the connection between each variables. The population in this research was all the employees from Operational Directorate of PT. XYZ which amounted to 1084 employees. The sampling method was performed by simple random sampling with a total of 233 respondents. The data analysis method used SEM-PLS with the results showed that transformational leadership and organizational commitment had a positive and significant impact on job satisfaction. Transformational leadership has no affect towards turnover intention, but the organizational commitment and job satisfaction had a positive and significant impact on turnover intention. The transformational leadership and organizational commitment had a simultaneous impact towards job satisfaction. And the Transformational leadership, organizational commitment and job satisfaction had simultaneous impact towards turnover intention. Job satisfaction has fully mediates the affect which appears from transformational leadership and organizational commitment towards turnover intention.

The present paper offers a theoretical review of the concept of human capital and its component elements, namely Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Working Activities, and attempts to sketch the requirements of the production structure in the Greek economy. In addition, the role is stressed of the educational model in Greece in positively affecting the changes underway under the simultaneous impact of the 4th industrial revolution and COVID-19.
