An Integrated SEM-Neural Network Approach for Predicting Mobile Banking Determinants of Adoption in Turkey

Higher penetration of the most widely used mobile technology applications and 3G and 4G mobile networks have led to the higher usage of smartphones for mobile banking activities in recent times. Data were collected from 395 mobile banking users and analyzed using an innovative two-staged regression and neural network (NN) model. In the first stage, structural equation modeling was employed to test the research hypotheses and identify significant antecedents influencing mobile banking acceptance. In the second stage, the significant antecedents obtained from the first stage were input to a neural network model for ranking. The results revealed that autonomous motivation and perceived ease of use are the two main predictors influencing mobile banking acceptance. Theoretical and practical implications of findings are discussed. Policy makers can find significant results in this chapter for implementing future service design. Limitations and future research scope are also discussed.

The advancement in wireless sensor and information technology has offered enormous healthcare opportunities for wearable healthcare devices and has changed the way of health monitoring. Despite the importance of this technology, limited studies have paid attention for predicting individuals’ influential factors for adoption of wearable healthcare devices. The proposed research aimed at determining the key factors which impact an individual's intention for adopting wearable healthcare devices. The extended technology acceptance model with several external variables was incorporated to propose the research model. A multi-analytical approach, structural equation modelling-neural network, was considered for testing the proposed model. The results obtained from the structural equation modelling showed that the initial trust is considered as the most determinant and influencing factor in the decision of wearable health device adoption followed by health interest, consumer innovativeness, and so on. Moreover, the results obtained from the structural equation modelling applied as an input to the neural network indicated that the perceived ease of use is one of the predictors that are significant for adoption of wearable health devices by consumers. The proposed study explains the wearable health device implementation along with test adoption model, and their outcome will help providers in the manufacturing unit for increasing actual users’ continuous adoption intention and potential users’ intention to use wearable devices.

This study aimed to analyze the factors that may affect students' perceptions about the intention to use mobile bankingapplications to support their daily activities. The research model was developed using a Technology Acceptance Modeldeveloped by Davis (1989), and by including three external variables that experience, complexity, and gander. The researchmodel empirically tested using data from a survey of students at the University of Jember. The sampling method in this studyusing a clustered random sampling. The questionnaire of 120 students who receive offers mobile banking service that qualifiesas a sample analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using AMOS 22.0. The results showed that all constructs inthe original TAM model was statistically significant. On the other hand, gender as external variables in this study had no effecton perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The implications of this study are relevant for students who are interested inusing mobile banking in order to better take into account the experience and ease of use. Mobile banking users is expected tobe more confident with using mobile banking can simplify their banking activity.

Mobile banking enables clients to bank virtually without restrictions to time and place. Despite wide adoption of mobile banking around the world, use of mobile banking is still considered low. Philippines has the lowest digital banking penetration across Asian countries although the country known for the title of “SMS-intensive country in the world”. Factor analysis, partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and ANOVA with bootstrapping were used to test research hypotheses. Findings from 212 Universal bank retail branch clients show that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social influence and trust propensity have significant positive influence on behavioral intention to use mobile banking. Results also show that respondents with matured age (22 years and above), male, at least Bachelor Degree graduate and receiving a monthly income higher than Php 10,001 has higher behavioral intention. This study is relevant for proposing marketing strategies to increase adoption of mobile banking and contribute for further advancement on technology acceptance literature.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to predict customers’ intentions to use self-checkouts based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). Design/methodology/approach The questionnaire consisted of constructs taken from the existing literature such as perceived ease of use (PEU), perceived usefulness (PU), behavioral intentions, technology anxiety (TA), perceived risk (PR), need for interaction (NI), and situational factors (SF). Before preparing the questionnaire, the focus group studies were organized to gain deeper insights regarding customers’ views about self-checkouts. Based on the results of the focus groups, some items in the constructs were adapted, and the questionnaire was generated. The field study was conducted via face-to-face survey with 500 customers chosen by stratified random sampling. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used to validate the relationships hypothesized in the conceptual model among constructs. Findings Out of the 16 hypotheses, 10 were found to be significant. The hypotheses related to the effects of PR, PEU, PU, intentions, while the effects of NI on PU and intentions; the effects of SF on intentions were not accepted in the study. According to the findings, PEU, PU, and TA affected intentions whereas PR, NI, and SF did not. Research limitations/implications There were some limitations related to demographics, attitudes, SF, and actual usage of self-checkouts. Practical implications To avoid queues, retailers should install a sufficient number of user-friendly and simple interfaced self-checkouts with well-trained employees to encourage usage and reduce the perceived risk and anxiety. Originality/value The main contribution of this study was that the effects of different constructs were measured on Turkish customers’ intentions to use self-checkouts, which could be used in formulating marketing strategies as well as considering future research directions. The paper also provided additional insights into the effects of SF, TA, NI, and PR, all of which were added to the TAM in this study.

Purpose – Little is known about the adoption of mobile banking technologies in emerging Asian economies. The purpose of this paper is to empirically examine the motivators that influence a consumer’s intentions to use mobile banking. Design/methodology/approach – A web-based survey was employed to collect data from 348 respondents, split across Thailand and Australia. Data were analysed by employing exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, path and invariance analyses. Findings – The findings indicate that for Australian consumers, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived risk (PR) were the primary determinants of mobile banking adoption. For Thai consumers, the main factors were PU, PR and social influence. National culture was found to impact key antecedents that lead to adoption of m-banking. Research limitations/implications – The actual variance explained by the study’s model was higher in Australia (59.3 per cent) than for Thailand (23.8 per cent), suggesting future research of m-banking adoption in emerging Asian cultures. Practical implications – The authors identify the important factors consumers consider when adopting m-banking. The findings of this research give banking organisations a foundational model that can be used to support m-banking implementation. Originality/value – The study is perhaps the first to examine and compare the intention to adopt m-banking across Thai and Australian consumers, and responds to calls for additional research that generalises m-banking and m-services acceptance across cultures. This study has proposed and validated additional constructs that are not present in the original SST Intention to Use model.

The advent and dispersal of technology is an interesting area of study since its success is dependent on the attitude for the adoption of it by customers. Extant literature indicates that mobile banking is the least adopted type of electronic banking when compared to other types of banking like Automated Teller Machine (ATM), despite its being the cheapest and quickest mode of communication. This study empirically examines and tests factors affecting users and non-users’ attitude towards the adoption of mobile banking. Data were collected from 256 participants both from users and non-users of mobile banking. Collected data were analyzed using chi-square, ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Findings indicate that trust, perceived ease of use, relative advantage, and compatibility have strong correlations with both users and non-users’ adoption towards mobile banking. However, perceived risk is found to have no significant relationship with users and non-users’ attitude towards the adoption of mobile banking.  Moreover, it is found that there is a difference between users and non-users’ attitude towards the adoption of mobile banking.  Furthermore, managerial implications, limitations of the study and future research directions were discussed.

The rapid growth of investment in information technologt by orgoniza tions worldwide has made user acceptance an increasingly criticol technologt implementation and *orogr*rnt issues. User"icceptance has received fairly extensive attention from previous studies, particularly those involving dffirent technologies, user populations, and/or organizationalcontexts. The Technologt Acceptance Model @M is amongmost influential research models to determine information systems/information technologt use. The objective of thk study is to assess the TAM in world-wide-web usage. Data were collected from 127 undergraduate accounting students in Duta Wacana Christian (Jniversity-Yogyakarta and were tested using the structural equation modeling approach. The results of the study showed that, even though goodness of fit the model is not very well, there are significant coruelations among the perceived ease of use variable against perceived usefulness andattitude variable, perceived usefulness variable against attitude and behavior intention to use, attitude variable against behavior intention to use, and behavior intention to use variable against behavior to use. This study aims to discuss the determinants influencing users intention behavior toward Healthcare Cloud Services (HCS) by integrating Health Belief Model (HBF), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), and Information System Success (ISS). Structural Equation Model is used for data analysis. The results reveal that perceived ease of use plays the most critical role on users intention behavior, followed by pleasure and perceived barriers, implying it is essential for medical institutions to strengthen users intention behavior by advocating the cloud service benefits and operating convenience. The findings hope to provide future research and managers with helpful references of customer needs and guidelines for enhancing healthcare quality in order to achieve better development and competitiveness.

The Internet is an incredible technology, offering users a vast choice of new songs and catalogue that can be browsed, streamed or bought online. This paper aims to provide an explanation of factors influencing purchase intention of early adopters towards online music. An empirical survey was used to test the hypotheses. Data were collected from a total of 200 questionnaires distributed to early adopters of online music and were analysed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via the Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS 16) computer program. Results enumerate that perceived ease of use emerges as the important factor which affects perceived value among the respondents followed by perceived playfulness. Perceived value has the only significant impact on the purchase intentions towards online music. The paper rounds off with conclusions and an agenda for future research in this area.
