Impact of Servant Leadership on the Development of Change-Oriented Citizenship Behavior

Due to globalization; utilization of new innovations; adapting to a tempestuous climate; and political, cultural, and economical challenges, organisations face progressing cycles of change. They relegate the duty of expecting change and giving direction to their employees for their professional growth. Because of the change-oriented behavior of employees, the study proposed the importance of understanding the phenomena while examining the subject of change readiness and psychological empowerment of employees during the current era of change. This study examines the mechanism of the effect of servant leadership on change-oriented behavior. The study employed a survey-based method, and data is collected with the help of a questionnaire. The rate of response was 50%, qualifying for the minimum criteria of response rate. For the data analysis, SEM-PLS is used. Results of the current study supported the hypothesised relationships.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior. To achieve this aim, the study utilized a questionnaire consists of two validated and well established instruments. This questionnaire has been distributed to a sample consist of (500) employees of insurance companies. A total of (327) complete questionnaires has been received back at a response rate of 65%. After analyzing data and testing hypotheses, the results indicated that the level of servant leadership in insurance companies is at the middle and the most prominent practices of servant leadership are associated with the dimension of empowerment, while those associated with the dimension of courage was the less common practice. The results also pointed out that the level of employees’ organizational citizenship behavior was high. Finally the study revealed that there is a relationship between all the dimensions of servant leadership and organizational citizenship behavior except courage dimension. Based on these results, certain recommendations were suggested.

This study aims at describing how the teachers teach reading comprehension of narrative text to the tenth grade students in Sibolangit and revealing the underlying reasons of why do they do that way. This study was conducted by using qualitative research design. The subject of this study were two english teachers who taught at tenth grade students of two SMA in Sibolangit they are : SMA Negeri  1 Sibolangit  and SMA RK Deli Murni Bandar Baru in academic year 2016/ 2017. The data were analyzed by using Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. The  technique of collecting the data was recorded from the classroom process in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text. The findings of the study show that most of teachers’ ways are not yet focusing on teaching reading comprehension but rather focusing teaching the knowledge of genre. The underlying reason of the teachers’ ways in teaching reading comprehension did not facilitate reading comprehension. It was due to the misperception of the concept of teaching reading comprehension.  Keywords : Teaching,Reading Comprehension,Narrative Text.

The objective of this research is to find out whether the application Preview, Read,Write, and Recite (PRWR) method improve student’s achievement in readingrecount text. This research applied classroom action research model. This studywas done in six meetings. The subject of this study was first year of SMAN 1Delitua. Primary data were collected by giving 20 questions of multiple-choicetest, the aspects contained in the tests focused on generic structure, main ideas,factual information, and Secondary data were collected by (interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet. Based on analysis data, it was found that thestudent’s achievement improved. It could be seen from the comparison of result inthe orientation test and the cycle test I and II. There were only 9 students who hadpassed minimum criteria KKM in orientation test (75). The improvement showedthat in cycle I and II, based on the total average score it was 16 (42,4%) up to 26(78,7%) in cycle II, The secondary data gathered from interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet, showed that students’ expression and enthusiasticalso improved. Thus, it was found that the applications of Preview, Read, Write,and Recite (PRWR) method in process of teaching improved students’achievement in reading recount text. It is suggested that English teachers applyPRWR method in teaching reading recount text.

This study is concerned with the improving student’s vocabulary achievement in writing descriptive text through Make a Match Method. The objective of this study was to discover whether the use of Make a Match Method could significantly improve students’ vocabulary achievement in writing descriptive text. This study was conducted by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study was students of SMA Negeri 1 Pollung which consisted of 34 students. The instruments for collecting data were descriptive writing test, observation sheet, questionnaire sheet, and diary notes. The techniques for data analysis were quantitative and qualitative. It was found that teaching-learning process ran well. Students were active, enthusiastic and interested on writing descriptive text. The result of this study showed that the use of Make a Match Method significantly improved student’s vocabulary achievement in writing descriptive text.

Twenty years ago, as part of a review of the clinical pharmacology of mild analgesics (Beaver, 1965, 1966), I evaluated reports of those analgesic trials of dextropropoxyphene that appeared to satisfy the minimum methodologic requirements for a controlled clinical trial of analgesic efficacy. On reviewing reports of studies that have been published since then, I find little need to modify my evaluation of the efficacy of dextropropoxyphene that appeared in 1966, at least in respect to the effect of single oral doses: In summary, dextropropoxyphene (hydrochloride) is a mild oral analgesic which has proven superior to placebo in doses of 65 mg or more but which is of questionable efficacy in doses lower than 65 mg. The drug is definitely less potent than codeine: the best available estimates of the relative potency of the two drugs indicating that dextropropoxyphene is approximately 1/2-2/3 as potent. Likewise, dextropropoxyphene in 32-65 mg doses is certainly no more, and possibly less, effective than the usually used doses of aspirin or A.P.C. (aspirin/phenacetin/caffeine). In the interim, the efficacy of dextropropoxyphene has been the subject of a number of other critical reviews (Miller et al., 1970; Miller, 1977), commentaries (Kiplinger & Nickander, 1971; Lasagna, 1976), and even congressional hearings (Beaver, 1979; Moertel, 1979). More importantly, new controlled clinical trials involving dextropropoxyphene hydrochloride or napsylate have been reported, and some of these use more sophisticated design and analysis than those available in 1966. I will therefore discuss the results of those newer studies of apparently suitable scientific design that meet at least the minimum criteria for a valid clinical assay of analgesic activity (Beaver, 1965; Houde et al., 1965,1966; Wallenstein & Houde, 1975; Beaver, 1983), and I will comment on only a few of the studies included in my previous review (Beaver, 1966).
