Mobile Banking Adoption in the United States

Mobile banking penetration has been relatively low even though smartphones are the most dominant forms of mobile computing in the United States. This quantitative correlational study is focused on how consumers ‘perceptions affect their intention to use mobile banking in the United States. Among U.S. consumers with smartphones, Internet access, and a bank account; 68% used Internet, 33% used telephone-based banking, and only 21% engaged in some type of mobile banking activities in 2011. The web-based survey used in this study was derived from the technology acceptance model extended by the innovation diffusion theory. Data were collected by e-mail from a random sample of 398 people in the United States. The structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was used to analyze data. The results indicated that, perceived compatibility, credibility, and costs were the significant predictors of mobile banking adoption in the United States.

Consumer adoption of mobile-based tourism shopping is an emerging but overlooked area in tourism research. Given the paybacks and potential scope of this new channel, this study attempts to bridge the gap by proposing a multimediation model investigating mobile tourism shopping (MTS) in a developing country, Pakistan. In particular, we applied structural equation modeling through partial-least-squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) on 396 responses collected from mobile respondents who recently purchased tourism products using a mobile device(s). It was discovered that social presence, directly and indirectly, influences tourist intentions towards MTS. The results further show that the tourists’ perception of compatibility and relative advantages of MTS have insignificant influence on their intention to accept a mobile device(s) for tourism shopping. The findings and implications of the study furnish new vistas to research discourse and managerial significance. Economically, this research contributes to knowledge that could increase income and create jobs in the host country.

The rapid growth of mobile technologies and devices makes it possible for the customers of banking services to conduct banking at any place and at any time. Today, most of the banks in the world provide mobile access to its customers for banking as mobile banking systems improve their efficiency and reduce transaction costs. Banks invested heavily in the mobile banking system hoping that its customers would embrace it with open arms. Contrary to the expectation, the lukewarm patronage to mobile banking makes it crucial to understand the factors that contribute to users’ intention to use mobile banking. This study extends the applicability of technology acceptance model (TAM) to the mobile banking context. Based on the review of literature, few additional constructs were added to the TAM. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the casual relationships proposed. Findings of the study support the proposed model’s ability of explaining the users’ intention to adopt mobile banking.

This study aims to (a) identify perception factors that affect current mobile banking (M-banking) consumers’ continuous use of the technology, (b) explain the self-service technology (STT) dimensions that affect customers’ behavioral intention, and (c) be able to offer recommendations to the banking industry or other organizations related to M-banking in terms of developing M-banking services in the future. Analyzed data were collected from 688 existing Thai M-banking users through online questionnaires. This study used the SPSS and AMOS statistical programs to analyze the data by applying structural equation modeling based on SSTs’ service qualities and the technology acceptance model (TAM). From the results, this analysis shows positive and significant relationships among SSTs’ service qualities, perception, and sustainable intention to use M-banking services. This study provides vital knowledge related to essential characteristics of M-banking as an STT that could assist banking institutions and application providers in enhancing their M-banking products. Moreover, this study adds to the knowledge area of SSTs’ service qualities in financial mobile application dimensions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate factors affecting the consumers intention to use Mobile Banking. A survey was used to collect data from 86 samples from all smartphone device owners and has been experienced with Mobile Banking applications. The proposed Mobile Banking implementation Model In this study is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and mobile service Quality (MSQ). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is used to analyze data. The results reveal that the ease of use, usability and quality of service to the use of Mobile Banking positively influential. Therefore, the Bank should emphasize the strategy to increase the benefits of Mobile Banking perception by prioritizing this factor into decision making.

Mobile banking is now an important and evolving medium for executing banking transactions. It has a huge potential in a developing country such as India. Our study explores the important antecedents of the mobile banking adoption intention of Indian customers and proposes a comprehensive framework by extending the traditional technology acceptance model (TAM). Along with the two constructs provided by TAM, four customer-oriented constructs have also been measured for this purpose. The conceptual model has been verified empirically, with the data mobilized with the help of a survey from 203 future mobile banking service users. The structural equation modeling (SEM) technique has been undertaken to establish the effect of the antecedents on mobile banking adoption intention. The results demonstrate that, together with the constructs of TAM, viz. perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, as well as all other relevant behavioral factors, namely subjective norms, personal innovativeness, trust, and self-efficacy have exerted a statistically significant positive effect on the mobile banking adoption intention of customers. The study provides an empirical foundation, which can be useful to banking and mobile services by helping companies to formulate their marketing strategies.

Continuous development of technological innovations especially in the banking sector have stirred competition which has changed the way businesses operate resulting in the introduction of Unified Interface Payment (UPI) services. This study was conducted in order to analyse the adoption of UPI services through Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in Mysuru. Objectives of study were framed to determine the demographic factors that influence the practices of UPI by the customers, to examine the role of banks in integrating UPI services and products and to assess the various security issues affecting the usage of UPI services by Mysuru customers. Based on these objectives a structured questionnaire was prepared and primary data was collected from 165 respondents. Data was analysed making use of SPSS and other models namely Structural Equation Modeling with Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) Software. Finally the researchers identifies that there is a need for convergence of customer’s preference for safe and easy banking transactions. This study revealed that the customer’s model have to be well integrated for progress in UPI operations.

Snapchat, and Instagram are two social networks which recently gain their users after adopting such a feature called "Story" which allows a certain post to be disappeared after a certain time. This research takes up this technology trends analyzing the factors that probably affect the behavioral intention to use Snapchat and Instagram stories among generation Z. Factors are analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling, with basis model and variables from Technology Acceptance Model. Data collection was targeted to finished within 1 week using online questionnaire with respondent from Jakarta and Tangerang for 100 respondent that are using both Snapchat stories and Instagram Stories. There are two tools researcher usually use to analyze Structural Equation Modeling: SPSS AMOS and LISREL. In this research, researchers choose AMOS. From six hypothesis proposed for Snapchat analysis, four hypothesis is accepted, while the other two are rejected. Meanwhile, on Instagram Stories analysis, five hypothesis is accepted and one hypothesis is rejected. This study finds out the Social Presence is an exogenous variable which has a major role in affecting other variables. While Perceived Enjoyment influenced the behavioral intention to use Snapchat and Instagram Stories the most.
