Background: Globally, diabetes has brought an enormous burden to public health resources, and the situation of disease burden caused by diabetes in China is especially severe. China is currently facing the dual threat of aging and diabetes, and wearable activity trackers could promote elderly diabetic patients' physical activity levels and help them to manage blood glucose control. Therefore, examining the influencing factors of elderly patients' adoption intention is critical as wearing adoption determines actual wearing behaviors.Objective: This study aims to explore the predicting factors of Chinese elderly type 2 diabetic patients' adoption intention to wearable activity trackers and their actual wearing behavior, using diffusion of innovation theory as the theoretical framework. We hope to provide insights into future interventions using wearable activity trackers as tools to improve the outcome of patients.Methods: Wearable activity trackers were freely distributed to type 2 diabetic patients in Beijing, China. A questionnaire survey was conducted to examine predicting factors of adoption intention after a week's try-on. Actual wearing behavior for 3-month was obtained from the exclusive cloud. Data were analyzed with structural equation modeling.Results: A total of 725 patients completed the questionnaire. Patients had a mean age of 60.3 ± 7.6 years old and the educational level was generally lower. The results indicated that observability was the primary influencing factor of patients' adoption intention (β = 0.775, P < 0.001). Relative advantage (β = 0.182, P = 0.014) and perceived social image (β = 0.080, P = 0.039) also had a positive influence while perceived risk (β = −0.148, P < 0.001) exerted a negative influence. In addition, results showed that the more intention led to the better actual wearing behavior (β = 0.127, P = 0.003). Observability (β = 0.103, P = 0.005), perceived ease (β = 0.085, P = 0.004), and relative advantage (β = 0.041, P = 0.009) also indirectly influenced the wearing behavior.Conclusion: The intentions of Chinese elderly type 2 diabetic patients to wearable activity trackers directly influenced the actual wearing behavior. In addition, their adoption intention to wearable activity trackers was mainly influenced by observability, perceived ease to use, relative advantage, perceived risk, and social image.

Due to the doubt on information credibility, users often hesitate to adopt the health information posted on online health communities (OHC). This may undermine the sustainable development of OHC. The purpose of this research is to identify the determinants of OHC users’ information adoption intention. The results indicated that both information factors and social interaction affect the adoption intention. Information factors include argument quality and source credibility, whereas social interaction includes perceived similarity and familiarity. The results imply that OHC need to ensure information quality and support users’ interaction in order to facilitate their information adoption.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology holds tremendous potential in improving the patient management system in hospitals attaining global importance in the healthcare industry due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic at present. RFID assists in wireless data storage and automatic retrieval, making systems efficient, improving patient safety, and decreasing costs. Although RFID is an emerging technology in the healthcare industry, its adoption is yet to gather momentum. This chapter will provide a background for healthcare practitioners and researchers about RFID technologies in the healthcare sector. Moreover, an integrated conceptual framework will be proposed consisting of factors that influence RFID technology adoption intention in the healthcare industry. This study will be the first of its kind to identify and classify various factors of RFID adoption intention and provide a comprehensive model using an exploratory method laying the foundation for academicians and industry practitioners for the future scope of its research.

Abstract: This research was conducted to gather data and understand the perception what the Indian population holds when it comes to using UPI payment method. To do so, a survey was designed using the UTAUT model and was circulated by the means of google forms. A wide range of parameters were considered to avail the maximum possible accuracy for the data collected. Parameters like, the ease of using this payment method, short term and long term benefits, monetary benefits, social benefits were considered. All of these parameters were supposed to be answered on a scale of 5. After collecting all the data, the results were analyzed and evaluated using which the hypothesis made were proved. Keywords: UPI, payment, transaction, UTAUT, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, perceived monetary benefits, perceived safety, social influence, adoption intension.

 Background: Social Media has become a prevalent platform for students to receive information content such as admission notices, holiday notices from business schools. Students are communicating, collaborating, and resource sharing by several social media in the names of support groups. Objective: The purpose of the research paper is to examine social media adoption intention among undergraduate students of business schools in Kathmandu Valley in 2020. Method: The data were collected with the self-administered questionnaires from 200 undergraduate students. Partial Least Square (PLS) - SEM was applied to test the direct and mediated effect of the proposed hypotheses. Result: The results revealed that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, collaboration, resource sharing, communication and intention of social mediation adoption. Perceived ease of use partially mediates the relationship between communications, resource sharing on the intention of social media adoption. Conclusion: The study concludes that undergraduate level students of business schools could intent to social media when they find the social media useful, easy to use, collaborative, communication, and resource sharing among students. Moreover, students could intend to use social media when they perceived ease of social media use over communication, resource sharing for educational purposes. The conclusion could provide information for business schools in creating an atmosphere of collaboration, communication, and resource sharing to increase engagement in social media. Originality: Social media adoption in the Nepali context is a relatively less explored phenomenon. This research established that social media adoption is impacted by collaborative learning, resource sharing, perceived usefulness, and communication.

Purpose This study aims to evaluate the role of personality in digital library systems (DLS) adoption intention among Generation Z (Gen-Z) students. The study uses the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology-2 and the five-factor model to investigate personality’s influence on Gen-Z’s DLS adoption intention. Design/methodology/approach The study is a descriptive causal investigation based on primary data collected through a self-administered survey using pre-validated tools. The study uses structural equation modeling to investigate personality dimensions’ direct and moderating effect on the dependent, independent variables and their relation. Findings The study results indicate that personality has no significant influence on Gen-Z’s DLS adoption, suggesting the ubiquity and inevitability of technology in current times. Also, only performance expectancy had a considerable impact on DLS adoption among Gen-Z going to college – a deviation from past studies where multiple independent variables have influenced DLS adoption when examined from different technology adoption model angles. Research limitations/implications The current research is done on Gen-Z, and thus the results are ideographic to the cohort. Practical implications The results of the study can be used to effectively design and communicate technology-enabled information solutions among the Cohort. Social implications The results of the study help better understand the factors affecting the technology adoption intentions of Gen-Z. Such understanding can help in better design and implementation of technology-enabled solutions for the cohort, maximizing such system adoption and its effective and efficient utilization. Originality/value The study explores the impact of personality on DLS adoption intentions, hitherto unexplored. The research also focuses on Gen-Z – a cohort born in a technology-enabled world whose attitude and preferences towards technology might differ. The study’s findings will help understand the influence of personality on DLS adoption among the Gen-Z and can be used to design, promote and evaluate such systems.
