This article describes how Smarandache defined neutrosophic sets to handle problems involving incomplete, indeterminacy and awareness of inconsistency knowledge, and is further developed to neutrosophic soft expert sets by Sahin et al. Adam and Hassan defined multi Q-fuzzy soft sets as an extension to fuzzy soft sets and gave its applications. This article will extend this further by presenting a novel concept of Q-neutrosophic soft expert sets, and define the associated related concepts and basic operations of complement, subset, union, intersection, AND and OR. This novel concept enables the single dimensionality of soft expert sets to be extended to two dimensions. Then, this article constructs an algorithm based on this concept. The following will illustrate the feasibility of the new method by an example. Finally, a comparison of the proposed method to existing methods is furnished to verify the effectiveness of the novel concept.

In this article, we propose a novel concept of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set by combining the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy set and the soft set. For possible applications, five kinds of operations (e.g., subset, equal, union, intersection, and complement) on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are presented. Then, several theoretical operations of single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft sets are given. In addition, the first type for the fuzzy decision-making based on single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set matrix is constructed. Finally, we present the second type by using the AND operation of the single-valued neutrosophic fuzzy soft set for fuzzy decision-making and clarify its applicability with a numerical example.

Combining interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft sets (IVHFSSs) and a new comparative law, we propose a new method, which can effectively solve multiattribute decision-making (MADM) problems. Firstly, a characteristic function of two interval values and a new comparative law of interval-valued hesitant fuzzy elements (IVHFEs) based on the possibility degree are proposed. Then, we define two important definitions of IVHFSSs including the interval-valued hesitant fuzzy soft quasi subset and soft quasi equal based on the new comparative law. Finally, an algorithm is presented to solve MADM problems. We also use the method proposed in this paper to evaluate the importance of major components of the well drilling mud pump.

In this article, we propose a novel concept of the generalized picture fuzzy soft set by combining the picture fuzzy soft set and the fuzzy parameter set. For possible applications, we explain five kinds of operations (e.g., subset, equal, union, intersection, and complement) based on generalized picture fuzzy soft sets. Then, we establish several theoretical operations of generalized picture fuzzy soft sets. In addition, we present the new type by using the AND operation of the generalized picture fuzzy soft set for fuzzy decision-making and clarify its applicability with a numerical example. Finally, we give a comparison between the picture fuzzy soft set theory and the generalized picture fuzzy soft set theory. It is shown that our proposed (i.e., generalized picture fuzzy soft set theory) is viable and provide decision makers a more mathematical insight before making decisions on their options.

In this paper, we study the matrix representation of fuzzy soft sets, complement of fuzzy soft sets, product of fuzzy soft matrices and the application of fuzzy soft matrices in medical diagnosis presented by Lavanya and Akila. Additionally, a new method (max-min average) based on fuzzy reference function is introduced instead of the max-product method by Lavanya and Akila to extend Sanchez’s technique for decision making problems in medical diagnosis. Using the same data by Lavanya and Akila, the result shows that the new method gives more information about the medical status of the patients being considered in relation to a set of diseases.

AbstractComplex fuzzy N-soft set (CFN-SS) is an important technique to manage awkward and unreliable information in realistic decision-making problems. CFN-SS is a blend of two separate theories, called N-soft sets (N-SSs) and complex fuzzy sets (CFSs), which are the modified versions of soft sets (SSs) and fuzzy sets (FSs) to depict vague and uncertain information in daily life problems. In this manuscript, the novel concept of CFN-SS is explored and their fundamental laws are discussed. CFN-SS contains the grade of truth in the form of a complex number whose real and imaginary parts are limited to the unit interval. Besides, we examine some algebraic properties for CFN-SS like union, intersections and justify these properties with the help of some numerical examples. To examine the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed approaches, the special cases of the investigated approaches are also discussed. A decision-making procedure is developed by using the investigated ideas based on CFN-SSs. Further, some numerical examples are also illustrated with the help of explored ideas to find the reliability and effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Finally, the comparative analysis of the investigated ideas with some existing ideas is also demonstrated to prove the quality of the proposed works. The graphical expressions of the obtained results are also discussed.

We introduce the concept of generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set and its operations and study some of their properties. We give applications of this theory in solving a decision making problem. We also introduce a similarity measure of two generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and discuss its application in a medical diagnosis problem: fuzzy set; soft set; fuzzy soft set; generalised fuzzy soft set; generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set; interval-valued fuzzy set; interval-valued fuzzy soft set.

There are many uncertain problems in practical life which need decision-making with soft sets and fuzzy soft sets. The purpose of this paper is to develop an approach to effectively solve the group decision-making problem based on fuzzy soft sets. Firstly, we present an adjustable approach to solve the decision-making problems based on fuzzy soft sets. Then, we introduce knowledge measure and divergence degree based on α-similarity relation to determine the experts’ weights. Further, we develop an effective group decision-making approach with unknown experts’ weights. Finally, sensitivity analysis about the parameters and comparison analysis with other existing methods are given.
