This article presents a comparison of the results obtained using the newly proposed Simple Weighted Sum Product method and some prominent multiple criteria decision-making methods. For comparison, several analyses were performed using the Python programming language and its NumPy library. The comparison was also made on a real decision-making problem taken from the literature. The obtained results confirm the high correlation of the results obtained using the Simple Weighted Sum Product method and selected multiple criteria decision-making methods such as TOPSIS, SAW, ARAS, WASPAS, and CoCoSo, which confirms the usability of the Simple Weighted Sum Product method for solving multiple criteria decision-making problems.

Abstract Background The natural indirect effect (NIE) and mediation proportion (MP) are two measures of primary interest in mediation analysis. The standard approach for mediation analysis is through the product method, which involves a model for the outcome conditional on the mediator and exposure and another model describing the exposure–mediator relationship. The purpose of this article is to comprehensively develop and investigate the finite-sample performance of NIE and MP estimators via the product method. Methods With four common data types with a continuous/binary outcome and a continuous/binary mediator, we propose closed-form interval estimators for NIE and MP via the theory of multivariate delta method, and evaluate its empirical performance relative to the bootstrap approach. In addition, we have observed that the rare outcome assumption is frequently invoked to approximate the NIE and MP with a binary outcome, although this approximation may lead to non-negligible bias when the outcome is common. We therefore introduce the exact expressions for NIE and MP with a binary outcome without the rare outcome assumption and compare its performance with the approximate estimators. Results Simulation studies suggest that the proposed interval estimator provides satisfactory coverage when the sample size ≥500 for the scenarios with a continuous outcome and sample size ≥20,000 and number of cases ≥500 for the scenarios with a binary outcome. In the binary outcome scenarios, the approximate estimators based on the rare outcome assumption worked well when outcome prevalence less than 5% but could lead to substantial bias when the outcome is common; in contrast, the exact estimators always perform well under all outcome prevalences considered. Conclusions Under samples sizes commonly encountered in epidemiology and public health research, the proposed interval estimator is valid for constructing confidence interval. For a binary outcome, the exact estimator without the rare outcome assumption is more robust and stable to estimate NIE and MP. An R package is developed to implement the methods for point and variance estimation discussed in this paper.

The difficulty to look for superior seeds of Bali cattle causes the selected superior germ plasm being more unproductive in case of fattening cattle. Decision-making models can be used to help humans, especially cattle ranchers in making decisions. Weighted Product Method is a very effective and efficient method for selecting superior seeds, because the timing needed for calculation is much shorter. The purpose of this research is to make a model of decision making for selection superior seeds of Bali cattle. European "Technical Recommendations" have proposed, in addition to the use of substance concentrations, the use of a pH (≤ 2 or ≥ 11.5) and an acid / base buffering capacity to classify waste into according to their hazardous properties HP 4 'Irritant' and HP 8 'Corrosive'. Buffer capacity refers to a 2018 UK classification guide referring to the 'corrosive' level of a method proposed in 1988 for substances and preparations but not retained in EU regulations. The different methods of classifying products and wastes in terms of corrosivity or irritation are compared. The waste method using pH and buffering capacity is expressed as an acid / base concentration and compared to the product method (CLP). The “corrosive” level of 1988 corresponds to an average acid / base concentration ≥ 14.4Ͽie 14 times less severe than CLP (acid / base concentration ≥ 1Ͽ These methods were applied to five alkaline wastes (pH ≥ 11.5). Minimum pH waste is not classified by both methods, and three higher pH wastes are classified by both methods. Intermediate waste is classified by CLP but not by the proposed waste method. In order not to innovate and create a new divergence between products and waste, it seems preferable to use the product regulations for HP 4 and HP 8. Fortunately, the elimination of the danger HP 4 and HP 8 from acidic or alkaline waste can be obtained by neutralization (possibly by other wastes), including for alkaline wastes by (natural) carbonation by atmospheric CO2.

In this paper, we study the matrix representation of fuzzy soft sets, complement of fuzzy soft sets, product of fuzzy soft matrices and the application of fuzzy soft matrices in medical diagnosis presented by Lavanya and Akila. Additionally, a new method (max-min average) based on fuzzy reference function is introduced instead of the max-product method by Lavanya and Akila to extend Sanchez’s technique for decision making problems in medical diagnosis. Using the same data by Lavanya and Akila, the result shows that the new method gives more information about the medical status of the patients being considered in relation to a set of diseases.

The corona virus pandemic that has been going on since the beginning of 2020 has changed everyone's lifestyle. Even though we are allowed to do activities with health protocols, many people are used to being at home and not exercising so they gain weight. There are also those who want to do fitness exercises but are confused in choosing what type of exercise is appropriate. Doing exercise regularly can help us burn excess calories, but we can't just go on a diet, one of which is to train in the fitness center. So this study discusses the design of a fitness exercise recommendation system using the web-based Weighted Product method. The Weighted Product method evaluates several alternatives to several attributes or criteria, where each attribute is independent of each other. Based on the results of the evaluation of the recommendation system questionnaire to get a success rate of 83.89%, so it can be ascertained that the fitness training recommendation system is successful in implementing the Weighted Product method
