User satisfaction is crucial to reinforce continued usage intention of mobile banking (MB). Since IS literature has overlooked continued usage intention of MB and its significance to reflect the success of MB system, it would be important to further the research in this area. This study employs both customization and security, two concerned factors among customers, to examine their impact on satisfaction and MB continuance intention. Extended expectation-confirmation model in IT domain (ECM-IT), developed from TAM and ECM, is used to evaluate the factors affecting satisfaction which in turn affects MB continuance intention. With a sample of a mid-sized US bank customers, regression results reveal that efficiency quality with its underlying factors of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are significant predictors of satisfaction. The interaction effect is significant for customization, but not for security. Theoretical and practical implications are communicated.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors affecting mobile banking adoption among young Indian consumers. Design/methodology/approach The authors use a cross-sectional survey research design to empirically examine the factors affecting mobile banking adoption among young Indian consumers. The study sample consists of 269 respondents aged between 23 and 30 years from India. Findings The findings of the study suggest that perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU), perceived credibility (PC) and structural assurance (SA) are strong determinants of user satisfaction (US) and behavioral intention (BI) to use the mobile banking service. US was found to partially mediate the relationship between PU, PEU, PC and SA and BI to use the service. Perceived risk was found to be statistically insignificant in terms of its relationship with BI to use the service. Research limitations/implications The results of this study provide good evidence for banks to further revamp their work practices in the area of mobile banking to enhance the overall penetration of mobile banking in India. Originality/value The study identifies factors influencing mobile banking adoption among young Indian consumers. Furthermore, this study suggests that US partially mediates the relationship between factor influencing mobile banking adoption and BI.

With mobile technologies' rapid development involving wireless networks and internet infrastructure, e-commerce has been evolving into a new, more significant phase: mobile commerce. Businesses throughout the world are highly motivated to invest in mobile commerce infrastructure and deploy their mobile commerce strategies as a source of sustainable competitive advantage to maintain existing and attract new customers. As probably the first systematic and comprehensive effort to date, this study analyzes the factors affecting customers' intention to use mobile commerce in Vietnam. The results show that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, variety of services, and trialability have both direct and indirect positive (via perceived usefulness) impacts on intention to use mobile commerce, while trust and social influence have indirect positive impacts on intention to use mobile commerce in Vietnam. Cost does not have any impact on intention to use mobile commerce in Vietnam. The results of this study are also compared with that of studies on mobile commerce conducted in China and Malaixia by Chong et al. Theoretical and practical implications, especially for helping businesses understand how to capture more customers in a rapidly developing country, Vietnam, are discussed.

AbstractMost existing research on usage behaviour of mobile book-reading applications (apps) has focused on exploring users’ initial acceptance; there has been a lack of understanding of the factors that affect user loyalty towards mobile book-reading apps that would reveal Chinese undergraduates’ behaviour patterns in using mobile apps. This study was designed to fill this gap by investigating Chinese undergraduates’ continuance intentions towards mobile book-reading apps. The study employed the expectation-confirmation model and technology acceptance model in conjunction with the perception of experiential value to derive an integrated model, followed by an empirical study to validate the model and better understand usage intention of the users of mobile book-reading apps. Survey data were collected from 390 Chinese undergraduates who had previous experience with mobile book-reading apps. The research model was examined using the SmartPLS 2.0 software. Structural equation modelling was used for hypotheses testing and path analysis was used to present the analytical results. The results of this study suggest that perceived usefulness and satisfaction directly influence continuance intention. User satisfaction plays a crucial intervening role in continuance intention from perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and confirmation of users’ expectations. User satisfaction is significantly influenced by expectation confirmation and perceived usefulness, as well as the perceived experiential values. The integrated model in this study successfully establishes the key factors that contribute to continuance intention towards mobile book-reading apps; the model offers a lens for understanding Chinese undergraduates’ apps use behaviour that has practical applications for developing better and more sustainable mobile book-reading apps among this user group.

Objective - This paper develops a theoretical framework that consists of the factors affecting the work outcomes among educator continuous usage behaviour of Learning Management System (LMS). Methodology/Technique - The conceptual framework is based on the previous literature review and the underpinning theories which are an integral of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and IS Continuance Model.Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and confirmation are identified as independent variables; satisfaction and IS continuance intention will be employed as mediating variable; and work outcomes as a dependent variable. Findings - In this study, 13 hypotheses have been proposed based on the conceptual framework outlined. The proposed framework would help the organizations to plan for the potential improvement of the systems and teaching strategies in the context of the LMS, in order to meet the educational goals and to get better learning outcomes. Novelty - Currently, there are very limited empirical researches that have been conducted on educator's outcomes on the post-adoption stage of LMS. Purpose The quality of people life and efficiency of banks can be improved by mobile banking (m-banking). The long-term success of m-banking depends on its constant use. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the determinants of m-banking continuance intention to use, using the technology continuance theory (TCT) by including the self-efficacy and channel preference. Design/methodology/approach Empirical data from 369 Malaysian users who had prior experience with mobile banking were analysed, using partial least squares technique. Findings The results confirmed that the TCT model had a high exploratory power in explaining users’ perceived usefulness (PU), satisfaction, attitude and intentions to continue to use m-banking. Furthermore, self-efficacy and channel importance were important drivers of continuance intention in the context of m-banking. According to the results, perceived ease of use has no effect on PU and attitude in the post-adoption stage. Practical implications The findings help bank managers to understand the importance of meeting customers’ needs and expectations as a prerequisite in enhancing their satisfaction and favourable attitude towards m-banking and consequently their continuance intention. Originality/value Based on the TCT model, this study contributes to the limited body of research on continuance intention to use m-banking. Furthermore, self-efficacy and channel preferences were added to the TCT model and the results confirmed the importance of enriching the TCT model to explain continuance intention to use information systems by adding contextual factors.

Organizations have invested heavily in implementing Information Systems (IS) such as enterprise systems (ES) but experienced significant challenges in realizing the potential benefits from these systems. Despite the maturity of research in ES, little research has examined the impact of continued use of ES on job satisfaction. With increased use and dependency on systems such as ES, recent research has shown that system use can impact employees’ satisfaction especially during the earlier stages of the system implementation. This is because the implementation of this system is usually accompanied with drastic change in work duties and tasks in which employees might have to learn new skills to navigate the new system. This disruptive event can influence employees’ attitudes about their jobs following ES implementation. However, past the initial stage of implementation not much is known about the impact of continued use of ES on employee job satisfaction. This research, by drawing on theoretical models on IT continued usage and IT adoption (e.g., Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology [UTAUT]), theorizes the impact of perceived usefulness (PU) on user satisfaction, IS continuance intention, and job satisfaction, and tests a model through a survey of 108 ES users at a manufacturing company in Canada. The results suggest that facilitating conditions are a salient predictor of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and user satisfaction. Additionally, the results support that user satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on continuance intention and employee job satisfaction.

This paper synthesized the technology acceptance model (TAM), to explain and predict the users' intentions to continue using e-payment system. The hypothesized model was validated empirically using a sample data collected from a modified e-payment questionnaire. A simple random sample technique was used to select 250 academic and non academic staff at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The results reveal correlation among perceived usefulness and attitude to use, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and attitude; perceived enjoyment and continuance intention to use, speed and actual use. Furthermore, attitude, satisfaction and actual use were all associated with continuance intention. Moreover, all the nine e-payment predictive factors together made 65% of e-payment continuance intention, and similarly; perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, enjoyment, speed; perceived benefits, user satisfaction, actual use and attitude are good predictors of e-payment continuance intention.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of teachers’ continuance intention concerning cloud services. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a cloud service, namely, Google Sites, to support teacher collaboration and further develop a research model to explore the determinants of their continued usage intention. Findings The findings reveal that continued intention to use the cloud services is primarily determined by their attitude towards using it; attitude towards using is affected by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness; and perceived ease of use is influenced by facilitating conditions, while perceived usefulness is influenced by social influence. Practical implications This study determines that teachers intend to continue using cloud services once training in using such services has been provided and if they hear favourable opinions from others. Originality/value The paper enables us to better understand factors affecting teachers' continuance intention toward cloud services.

Purpose Many developing countries, including India, are committed to curbing black money from the economy. Therefore, these countries are focusing on a transparent online transaction facility. M-wallets are one online option facilitated by various companies using a mobile application. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of perceived usefulness, perceived security, perceived ease of use, trust, grievance redressal and satisfaction on young users’ intention to continually use M-wallet in India. Design/methodology/approach A research framework based on the expectation–confirmation theory has been formulated and tested empirically using data from M-wallets young users in India using structural equation modeling. Findings The analysis reveals that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affect user satisfaction and intention to continually use M-wallets. The effect of perceived security on user satisfaction is significant, and grievance redressal mediates the effect of perceived security on intention to continually use M-wallets. Practical implications The outcome of the research will help M-wallet service providers and policy makers in planning the service and increasing customer’ continuance intention. Originality/value The uniqueness of this research is that it adds two important constructs for mobile payment systems (grievance redressal and perceived security) that were missing in the earlier model proposed by Zhou (2013). The addition of the two constructs helped in formulating a better model.
