In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection framework through multi-agents scheme for wireless home automation networks. Our mechanisms include the wireless sensor network intrusion detection architecture and an intrusion detection scheme for security enhancement. For the performance evaluation of our mechanism, we use the wireless data measured on the real wireless home networks. The simulation results show that the security manager detect the intrusion attack to improve the whole performance of the system, and can prolong the lifetime of the network.

In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection program based on improved Ant-Miner (AM). The proposal needs to collecting out the node data, using intrusion detection module to test, compared with other wireless sensor network intrusion detection scheme, this scheme saves energy consumption of the sensor node effectively. Through the network simulation, this scheme proposed has a lower false positive rate and a higher true positive rate comparing with the current typical wireless sensor network testing program.

This chapter aims to build a proposed Wire/Wireless Network Intrusion Detection System (WWNIDS) to detect intrusions and consider many of modern attacks which are not taken in account previously. The proposal WWNIDS treat intrusion detection with just intrinsic features but not all of them. The dataset of WWNIDS will consist of two parts; first part will be wire network dataset which has been constructed from KDD'99 that has 41 features with some modifications to produce the proposed dataset that called modern KDD and to be reliable in detecting intrusion by suggesting three additional features. The second part will be building wireless network dataset by collecting thousands of sessions (normal and intrusion); this proposed dataset is called Constructed Wireless Data Set (CWDS). The preprocessing process will be done on the two datasets (KDD & CWDS) to eliminate some problems that affect the detection of intrusion such as noise, missing values and duplication.

This Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a network of sensors, which is capable of communicating with each other and sensing some changes in parameters such as temperature, humidity etc. Such networks are beneficial in many fields, such as military industries, health monitoring, environmental tracking, monitoring of traffic. However, WSN’s are easy to be attacked because of its properties such as untrusted broadcast transmission media, physical accessibility of sensors. So, protecting networks against attacks is one of most important issues in network and information security domain. As Sensor nodes have limited resources, authentication and encryption cannot be implemented directly to it. Hence, we propose a Hybrid Intrusion Detection System, which consists of Host Based Intrusion Detection system (HBIDS) and Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS). In NIDS anomaly in network traffic, is detected. In HBIDS, patterns of misuse are detected from information collected at particular host or sensor. The main idea is to collect each sensor node’s data and anomaly is detected in network and this detected intrusion is compared with signatures of attack in misuse detection system.
