AbstractIn vehicular communications, the increase of the channel load caused by excessive periodical messages (beacons) is an important aspect which must be controlled to ensure the appropriate operation of safety applications and driver-assistance systems. To date, the majority of congestion control solutions involve including additional information in the payload of the messages transmitted, which may jeopardize the appropriate operation of these control solutions when channel conditions are unfavorable, provoking packet losses. This study exploits the advantages of non-cooperative, distributed beaconing allocation, in which vehicles operate independently without requiring any costly road infrastructure. In particular, we formulate the beaconing rate control problem as a Markov Decision Process and solve it using approximate reinforcement learning to carry out optimal actions. Results obtained were compared with other traditional solutions, revealing that our approach, called SSFA, is able to keep a certain fraction of the channel capacity available, which guarantees the delivery of emergency-related notifications with faster convergence than other proposals. Moreover, good performance was obtained in terms of packet delivery and collision ratios.

<p>This thesis explores the emergence and significance of internet-distributed television by unpacking the industrial, cultural, and textual ramifications of programming originated for an online context. As one of the foremost streaming services both globally and within the United States, Netflix will be the central focus of this thesis. The programmes that Netflix originates facilitate discussions around the potential of this network and its online platform to encourage innovation and novelty in its long-form TV drama. Netflix’s Stranger Things (2016–), a programme concept that was reputedly rejected by a number of cable networks before being accepted by Netflix, provides a compelling case study of the creative possibilities afforded by streaming capabilities.  This exploration is structured into three chapters. The first examines the environmental and institutional factors of the US television industry from which internet-distributed networks emerged. This chapter also explores the different economic models and the associated storytelling methods of each. Chapter 2 demonstrates the cultural significance of streaming on consumption behaviours and explores how broadcast, cable, and internet-distributed TV networks conceive of and pursue audiences. The analysis of several seminal TV dramas, such as The Sopranos (HBO 1999-2007), Game of Thrones (HBO 2011-2019), and Breaking Bad (AMC 2008-2013), provides comparisons from which to better understand the significance of Stranger Things to both the network that commissioned it and to the American television industry at large. The third chapter offers a detailed analysis of Stranger Things as an exemplar of Netflix’s ability to commission what Trisha Dunleavy (2018) terms the ‘complex serial drama’ and in doing so emulate the successful strategies first deployed by US cable networks.</p>

Due to the growth of e-commerce, most of the banking transactions are made on the online platform and all these transactions are made on the websites provided by the merchant or the payable apps and because of this the vulnerability of attacks has increased and there are also chances of using fraudulent websites and apps by the attackers though there are many high-security algorithms are been used for safeguarding against vulnerabilities. The way of judging the relation of trust on the online platform has become a major issue, so a proper trust model also needs to be maintained. In this paper, we reviewed various security algorithms which involve cryptographic algorithms, machine learning, anonymization, and masking techniques, blockchain, distributed networks, and many more to provide integrity, privacy, reliability, authentication, security, and risk-less e-commerce platform.

Abstract Hybrid solar energy-based power generation systems (PGS) are one of the exciting options for potential distributed networks. PV and wind grid linked PGSs are the most appropriate for its good output across various configurations. However, due to the system's complexity, special attention is required to achieve a successful engineering solution in the optimal balance between these two energy sources. This paper discusses optimum scale of PV and wind by following multiple optimization methods to various condition decision analysis (VCDA). The versatility of the VCDA algorithm was tested by taking into account several weighting parameter techniques for differing wind speeds and fluctuations in radiation levels, thus illustrating the advantages and limitations of the suggested optimum size approaches. The subsequent study may be called as a significant reference for decision makers, analysts and policymakers.

Distributed ledger technologies (DLT), including blockchains, combine the use of cryptography and distributed networks to achieve a novel form of records creation and keeping designed for tamper-resistance and immutability. Over the past several years, these capabilities have made DLTs, including blockchains, increasingly popular as a general-purpose technology used for recordkeeping in a variety of sectors and industry domains, yet many open challenges and issues, both theoretical and applied, remain. This editorial introduces the Special Issue of Computers focusing on exploring the frontiers of blockchain/distributed ledger technology and recordkeeping.

Blockchain technology is now becoming highly appealing to the next generation because it is better tailored to the information age. Blockchain technologies can also be used in the Internet of Things (IoT) and fog computing. The development of IoT and Fog Computing technologies in different fields has resulted in a major improvement in distributed networks. Blockchain technology is now becoming highly appealing to the next generation because it is better tailored to the information age. Blockchain technologies can also be used in IoT and fog computing. The blockchain principle necessitates a transparent data storage mechanism for storing and exchanging data and transactions throughout the network. In this paper, first, we explained blockchain, its architecture, and its security. Then we view Blockchain application in IoT security. Then we explained Fog computing, Generic Security Requirements for Fog Computing, and we also discussed Blockchain applications that enhance Fog Computing Security. Finally, we conduct a review of some recent literature on using blockchain applications to improve IoT and fog computing security and compare the methods proposed in the literature.
