Based on Winkler model and engineering example, the behavior of elastic long pile under horizontal load was analyzed in test status while pile top at free. The analysis results show that under same horizontal static load, the maximum of pile shaft bending moment in work status is higher than it in test status. Directly using the horizontal bearing capacity obtained by horizontal static load test in project design is unsafe and inapposite. The horizontal bearing capacity of pile in work status can be get based on the proportion coefficient of the horizontal resistance coefficient.

Floor slab static load test is a important method to judge the performance and carrying capacity of the slab. This paper, with the background of a factory frame-structure slab, introduced the testing scheme, the details of the testing process as well as the test results. The testing cases provide a useful reference for the same type of project.

Fabricated hollow slab bridge is commonly used in China. It is indicated that the hinged joints between hollow slabs are easily damaged. Especially under the erosion of chloride salt, the destruction process of hinged joints will be greatly exacerbated. In this paper, deicing salt environment was simulated in the lab to corrode the commonly used hinged joints. According to static load test results, hollow slab coordinated working coefficient is explored and the regression calculation formula was established. Then, the time-varying function of the rate of hinged joint steel corrosion was introduced to the regression model. Finally, the constantly evaluating of the hinged joint durability performance of common used deep, middle and low hinged joint forms were also carried out.

Abstract This paper introduces a method based on a static load test which is aimed to verify the mechanism of the piles soil–skin interaction. The authors base their analysis on detailed data from static load test with extensometers on CFA piles. The main goal of the research is to determine the proper method of examining how the skin of the pile and soil interacts and apply it to practical engineering practice. As the first stage of the research is limited to the available set of piles, the authors make assumptions that will be verified on later stages of research as more data become available. The authors attempt to formulate the boundary conditions for the formation of pile skin resistance formation using mathematical physics equations to describe the phenomena. Current research proves that it is possible, with the suitable for practical engineering calculations, to describe soil–pile interaction mechanism based on static load test results. Experimental research indicated that there is possibility, for practical engineering calculations purposes, to assume that skin resistance of the pile due to depth can be presented with linear graph. The description is made upon extensometer results, but is meant to be appropriate with the standard static load test results, which provide load–settlement curve of the pile.

For steel wire wound reinforced high-pressure hose, the static load test under internal pressure and fatigue test under combined effect of internal pressure and periodic transverse load were carried out. Test results show that water seepage or leakage on the pressing steel sleeve or on hose body itself, and bulging on hose itself near steel joint would lead to performance failure, which can be regarded as the performance failure criterion for steel wire wound reinforced high-pressure hose.

The shear design of a corrugated steel web box girder is important for structural reliability. Presently, corrugated steel webs bear all the shear forces, and the top and bottom concrete plates bear no shear force. Each steel web has equal force. This design is conservative and uneconomical and may sometimes be unsafe. The shear ratio and transfer efficiency of each corrugated steel web are investigated in this study through numerical analysis. Then, the distribution of shear stress in corrugated steel webs is verified through a static load test. Results show that the shear is shared by the top and bottom concrete plates and corrugated steel webs. The shear ratio presents a close relation with boundary, loading, and section position. The influence of a transverse diaphragm on the shear ratio is minimal, and this influence demonstrates a certain effect only on the steel webs located at the area of the transverse diaphragm.

Based on Winkler model and engineering example, the behavior of elastic long pile under horizontal load was analyzed in test status while pile top at solid respectively. The analysis results show that under same horizontal static load, the maximum of pile shaft bending moment in work status is higher then it in test status. The horizontal bearing capacity of pile in work status can be get based on the proportion coefficient of the horizontal resistance coefficient, m, and crack-resistant moment calculated by critical load, Hcr. While m and Hcr can be obtained by horizontal static load test.
