Survivors of COVID-19 can present with varied and persisting symptoms, regardless of hospitalisation. We describe the ongoing symptoms, quality of life and return to work status in a cohort of non-hospitalised COVID-19 survivors with persisting respiratory symptoms presenting to clinic, who consented and completed patient-reported outcome measures. We identified fatigue, reduced quality of life and dysregulated breathing alongside the breathlessness. Those with co-existent fatigue had worse mood and quality of life and were less likely to have returned to normal working arrangements compared to those without fatigue. For non-hospitalised people with persisting symptoms following COVID-19 referred to a respiratory assessment clinic, there was a need for a wider holistic assessment, including return to work strategies.

Background: The incidence of hypertension in women is 36.9%, allegedly related to hormonal changes triggered by the use of hormonal contraceptives. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the use of hormonal contraception on the incidence of hypertension in women of childbearing age. Methods: This cross-sectional study used IFLS 2014 data and involved 7,097 participants who were selected using multistage random sampling technique. The research variables included age, education, work status, physical activity, stress, use and length of time being a hormonal family planning acceptor, work status, blood pressure and obesity. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and analytically using logistic regression. Results: The incidence of hypertension reached 27.2%, and the multivariate analysis showed the significant correlation with age and duration of hormonal contraceptive use (p=0.000; PR=2.809; 95%-CI=2.516-3.136 and p=0.000; PR=1.002; 95% -CI=1.001-1.003). Conclusion: The incidence of hypertension in hormonal contraceptive users is related to age and period of use. Hormonal family planning acceptors need to regularly control blood pressure with age to monitor the incidence of hypertension.

IntroductionThe association between chronic widespread pain (CWP) and disability is well established. Although research support large interindividual differences in functional outcomes, limited studies are available on the socio-economic consequences of offering stratified treatment based on prognostic factors. Identification of predictors of long-term functional outcomes such as work disability as a critical consequence, could assist early and targeted personalised interventions. The primary objective of this cohort study is to identify prognostic factors for the primary endpoint work status (employed and working vs not working) in patients with CWP assessed 3 years from baseline, that is, at referral for specialist care. Methods and analysesData are collected at the diagnostic unit at Department of Rheumatology, Frederiksberg Hospital. The first 1000 patients ≥18 years of age registered in a clinical research database (DANFIB registry) with CWP either ‘employed and working’ or ‘not working’ will be enrolled. Participants must meet the American College of Rheumatology 1990 definition of CWP, that is, pain in all four body quadrants and axially for more than 3 months and are additionally screened for fulfilment of criteria for fibromyalgia. Clinical data and patient-reported outcomes are collected at referral (baseline) through clinical assessment and electronic questionnaires. Data on the primary endpoint work status at baseline and 3 years from baseline will be extracted from the Integrated Labour Market Database, Statistics Denmark and the nationwide Danish DREAM database. Prognostic factor analysis will be based on multivariable logistic regression modelling with the dichotomous work status as dependent variable.Ethics and disseminationSensitive personal data will be anonymised according to regulations by the Danish Data Protection Agency, and informed consent are obtained from all participants. Understanding and improving the prognosis of a health condition like CWP should be a priority in clinical research and practice. Results will be published in international peer-reviewed journals.Trial registration numberNCT04862520.

Abstract Play is considered an important contributor to healthy ageing. Using data from 3,067 participants aged 50+ from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, we explored online gaming assessed at wave 6 (2012/13) and quality-of-life, loneliness, and depression at wave 9 (2018/19). Covariates were age, sex, marital status, education, work status, depression, self-rated health, physical activity, smoking and alcohol consumption. We found that 22% of respondents engaged in gaming. Interaction analyses indicated that for younger individuals (<65 years), gaming predicted lower scores in the self-realization sub-scale of the quality-of-life scale in comparison to older gamers. Furthermore, there was a significant association between gaming and lower quality-of-life for widowed individuals only, particularly in terms of autonomy, self-realization, and pleasure. There were non-significant associations between gaming and loneliness and depression. Online gaming might be independently associated with lower levels of quality of life, especially for younger and widowed adults.

Abstract Background: Post-allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) work status is an important indicator of survivors' health recovery and social and economic well-being. However, current literature lacks data on work status, missed time at work, work performance, and quality of life (QOL) of long-term survivors of childhood HCT. Methods: A cross-sectional web-based survey study of ≥1-year survivors of childhood allogeneic HCT (performed between 1985-2010 at Children's Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI) who were <18 years of age at HCT and ≥18 years of age at their most recent assessment. Eligible survivors were identified using the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research database and contacted by email and/or mail. Validated patient reported outcomes measures, the World Health Organization Health and Work Performance Questionnaire (HPQ) and the National Institutes of Health Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) were used to capture work and QOL data, respectively. Using HPQ responses, working survivors' work absenteeism and presenteeism scores were calculated. Absenteeism scores were also calculated for the survivors who reported to be students. Absolute absenteeism was defined as 4*(no. of hours expected at work or school) - no. of hours actually worked or attended school. Relative absenteeism was defined as absolute absenteeism score/ 4*(no. of hours expected at work or school). Absolute presenteeism was defined as 10*(self-reported work performance in last 4 weeks). Relative presenteeism was defined as self-reported work performance in last 4 weeks / self-reported performance of co-workers. Higher absenteeism and presenteeism scores indicated higher missed time at work or school and better work performance, respectively. PROMIS domains were scored on a T-score metric with a mean score of reference population at 50 and standard deviation of 10. The primary outcome was individual PROMIS domain score as a continuous variable. Univariate linear regression was performed to study factors associated with increase in PROMIS domain scores. For negatively worded domains (anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive concerns, pain interference), higher score was considered worse and for positively worded domains (physical function, satisfaction with social roles and activities), lower score was considered worse. Student survivors were considered employed in the analysis. P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Out of 99 allogeneic HCT recipients who met the selection criteria, 47 initiated the survey and 44 completed it (44% response rate). At the time of survey, 73% (n=32) of the respondents were working, 23% (n=10) were unemployed, and 4% (n=2) were students. Median age at HCT and survey were 11.1 years (interquartile range [IQR] 7.0-13.5) and 30.0 years (IQR 26.5-34.0), respectively. Median follow-up from HCT was 22 years (range 9-32). Fifty two percent were females and 75% received HCT for malignant diseases (acute lymphoblastic leukemia 45%). Compared to unemployed survivors, employed survivors reported less pain interference and sleep disturbance (Figure 1). History of acute graft vs. host disease (GVHD) was associated with worse physical function. Median absolute absenteeism and presenteeism scores were 0 hours (IQR [-1.5]-16) and 83 (IQR 73-92), respectively. Higher absolute presenteeism was associated with less pain interference and more satisfaction with social roles and activities and physical function. Higher relative presenteeism was associated with less cognitive concerns. Higher absolute absenteeism was associated with less depression and higher relative absenteeism with less fatigue (Table 1). Conclusions: Nearly a quarter of the survivors reported being unemployed at the time of the survey. Significant associations between survivors' work status, work performance, and QOL were identified. Our findings provide an important insight on the implications of work outcomes on HCT survivors' physical, mental, and social health and emphasizes the importance of routine longitudinal assessment of work status, performance and QOL in this population. These results also have the potential to help develop effective communication strategies with employers to balance work expectations of survivors in order to achieve better work productivity and in turn, good QOL. The best nutrition for babies is breast milk. Breast milk should be given exclusively without any additions in the first six months. According to previous research, a woman’s age at marriage will affect the practice of exclusive breastfeeding to their babies, as young mothers are often not ready to have and care for babies. The work status of mothers also has a large impact on exclusive breastfeeding practices. The goal of this study was to discover the correlation between age at marriage and the work status of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding practices. This research was an observational study with the subjects being 94 mothers of children aged 0-5 years in Ngringinrejo Village, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency from 3 July to 9 August, 2019. This study used data from the professional placement activity or Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL) conducted by the students of the public health study program of Airlangga University. The outcome of this research showed that there was no meaningful relationship between the age of marriage of mothers and practices of exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.973) and there is also no statistical relationship between the work status of mothers and exclusive breastfeeding practices (p-value = 0.276). However, it was discovered that mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding were mostly not working, and mothers who did not breastfeed exclusively were mostly in employment. The conclusion of this research is the absence of a correlation between age at marriage and the work status of mothers with exclusive breastfeeding.

It is important to increase the productivity of every shipyard. Visualizing the actual work status during any industrial activity is essential. Work observation as one of the methods of industrial engineering has been applied in various fields in shipyards in Japan to increase productivity. However, current work observation requires both time and labor, and in some cases, shipyards hesitate to implement work observation. The aim of this study is to develop a methodology that uses deep neural networks to reduce the disadvantages of current work observation approaches while identifying work tasks and the accuracy of this observation.
