There were some problems in the building envelop of Huangmuchang village of Zhangjiawan town of Tongzhou zone Beijing city, as a demonstration village of energy saving retrofit in construction of new countryside. The problems include big heat-transfer coefficient, great cold air infiltration capacity, heat drawback, cold bridge and heat bridge etc. In this paper, how to decrease unit area heat load and improve thermal comfort by building envelop retrofit was introduced. The obvious improvements were obtained by comparing the interior temperature of the retrofitted building with that of un-retrofit building.

In order to assess the human settlements situation of earth construction and analyse Environmental protection and energy saving effect of the earth construction's enclosure-construction, we choose Jinan's earth construction--adobe houses--to conduct the detection and analysis of energy saving and were based on the factual date to calculate enclosure-construction's heat transfer coefficient K and the actual energy consumption to analyses the influential factors of the energy consumption and determine the main part of the energy saving effect of energy consumption based on the Extensive research of the ecological environment and earth construction in Shandong province. The results show that the typical enclosure-structure with good heat saving capacity can maintain the indoor thermal stability. Through the calculation of heat retaining structure, we can know that the tested adobe house's energy consumption is larger than normal house. it suggested that the earth construction has the characteristics of better energy saving and environmental protection. seeing that the factual tested adobe house's lower intensity , bad decoration and imperfection ,we put forward the suitable earth buildings scheme of the construction of new countryside.

Abstract Traditional combined heat and power (CHP) units should run in the heat-controlled mode. The adjustable range of power load is restricted by the heat load, and the minimum power load increases with the heat load. Because of high penetration of intermittent renewable power, operational flexibility of CHP units is highly required. It is necessary to adopt some technical solutions to realize heat-power decoupling for CHP units. To find a heat-power decoupling method with low investment and high energy efficiency, the steam ejectors, simple in structure and low in cost, are applied to design a novel heat-power decoupling system in this study. Steam ejectors can recover the waste heat of exhaust steam of steam turbines. Therefore, the integration of steam ejector may realize heat-power decoupling and energy saving simultaneously. Three heat-power decoupling systems with steam ejectors are designed. The heat-power decoupling performance and energy consumption characteristics of these systems are investigated with a reference 330 MW coal-fired CHP unit. Results show that all three modified systems can realize heat-power decoupling. The heat-power decoupling performance of improved system III is the best, and improved system I has the least coal consumption rate for power generation.

The use of closed refrigerated display cabinets in supermarkets is in progression because of the potential energy saving compared to the open ones with an air infiltration at the front. However, the influence of the presence of doors on product temperatures (determining factor of product quality) is much less studied. For better understanding the interest of the use of closed display cabinets, this chapter presents the state of the art of field studies, the airflow and temperature profile in the closed display cabinet, the influence of the presence of doors/the frequency of door openings and the room temperature. Finally, a literature review of studies on food quality in the closed display cabinet is presented.

An on-site test on envelope of a typical steel residential building in cold region is performed. The testing results provide evaluation bases for the energy-saving effects of the steel residential building. In order to evaluate the main factors that influence energy dissipation of the building and estimate the main energy dissipation positions, the heat transfer coefficient K of envelope and its actual energy consumption are calculated based on the testing data. The results indicate that the building envelope has good heat storage property and it could keep indoor thermal stability; the steel frames and windows have heat bridge effects. Through calculations of the energy consumption of envelope, it is showed that the tested building only meet the requirement of energy saving by 50%, instead of 65%; the external walls and windows are main energy dissipation parts. Finally the thermal design recommendations about steel residential buildings are proposed.
