Fluorescent whitening agent is relatively small dosage in the coating, but it has great influence on the properties of the coating and ink-jet printing qualities. With the increase of fluorescent whitening agent dosage, the PH of the coating rose but the viscosity was hardly to change. The brightness of coated ink-jet printing paper and color density of the printing image firstly presented the trend of increasing then decreasing. What’s more, when the brightness of the coated paper achieved to the maximum, color density and contact angle properties were the largest. Chromatic aberration property of the image reduced from 1.87 to 1.75, when the addition of fluorescent whitening agent rose from 0.1% to 0.5%. While the dosage was rose to 0.9%, chromatic aberration increased to 2.15. The gloss of coated paper decreased with the dosage of fluorescent whitening agent increasing. In sum, fluorescent whitening agent can enhance the brightness of the coated paper as well as the printing properties. The results show that the best brightness and printing qualities of coated ink-jet printing paper are obtained, when the fluorescent whitening agent is 0.5%( relative to pigment).

With many years of research, color ink-jet printing technology has reached the requirements of color ink-jet printing. The significance of this experiment is to find a suitable method to improve the quality of color ink-jet printing paper. In this work, the dispersion effect and types of sodium polyacrylate (PAAS) on nano-SiO2 solution are discussed, and the most suitable PAAS dosage is selected. When the dosage of PAAS is 8%, the dispersibility of nano-SiO2 solution is much better, with an average color density of 1.60, a gloss of 59% and an ink absorption value of 10.2 cm. Adhesives also have a great influence on color ink-jet printing paper. When the amount of PVA is 30% of nano-SiO2, the average color density is 1.62. Glossiness and ink absorption are also the best.

Because of clear image, bright color, high saturation of the color printing on coated paper, the ink-jet printing on coated paper catches more and more people’s eyes. In order to solve the problem of the ink-jet ink (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) on coated paper already developed out, whose yellow ink slants red and gloomy, different dyes are used to produce ink-jet ink. The inks were printed on the R-230 ink-jet printer on matt coated paper. The chromatic aberration is obtained on the basis of the colorimetric values in the ISO 12647-2:1996 eqv GB/T 17934.2-1999. It is found that the aberration of the Y79 is lower and its saturation is higher. The ink is filtered with 0.20 μm filter membrane and it can be used on ink-jet printing. The ink was used to print on the coated paper together with the previous cyan, magenta and black ink already developed out. The colorimetric values were measured and chromatic aberration and saturation is computed. The Color gamut graph of original inks and improved inks combination are made and compared to the standard of the ISO 12647-2:1996. It is found that the problems of hue unjust and gloomy color are improved compared to the previous four colors together. The cyan and magenta still stay away from perfect and it should be improved in future.

With the rapid development of color science, especially the ink-jet printing, the evaluation of the color copy effectiveness become one of the most important evaluation parameters in the ink-jet printing. Meanwhile, it makes the evaluation of the effectiveness of color reproduction become more and more quantitative. This paper selects four ink-jet printing papers with different types and physical properties, according to measurement and analysis of the whiteness, gloss, roughness, absorption and other performance parameters of the papers, it shows the effect from the various performance parameters of ink-jet printing paper to color reproduction. At the same time, the study of this paper offers a certain practical guidance to the selection of ink-jet printing paper as well as the improvement of replication precision of ink-jet printing.

Piezoelectric Inkjet Printing is the main ink-jet printing at present, and drop state will have great influence to ink-jet printing quality, so the ink-jet drop state of edible ink is researched based on piezoelectric inkjet printing. The viscosity of the ink is adjusted by the way of adding different levels of resin, and then the samples which have different viscosity are got. Drop state is observed through drops observatory which installs Spectra Polaris nozzle (35pl), then the speed, volume, tail length and roundness of the drops are measured at certain moment in order to evaluate the influence of viscosity to ink-jet drop state. The result shows that viscosity has big influence to ink-jet drop state, when the viscosity becomes larger, the speed of drops becomes smaller, the variation of volume is not so obvious, the tail length of drops becomes smaller and roundness becomes larger accordingly, until the viscosity is 10mPa•s, the tail length is the smallest and roundness is the biggest, the drop state is the best , when viscosity is bigger than 10mPa•s, the tail length will become bigger and roundness smaller.

The quality of ink-jet printing depends to a large extent on the technical characteristics of the selected equipment and the surface properties of the printed substrates. It is known that for digital printing it is necessary to use expensive paper with a special coating that determines the degree of gloss of the surface. Therefore, ordinary offset papers before ink-jet printing are covered with primers that ensure good fixation of pigment ink or dye on paper, a wide field of color coverage, characteristic gloss, which generally contribute to high quality of imprints. As you can see, the type of the substrate and the state of its surface has a very great influence on the quality of the imprints. Result of the research, it has been confirmed that not only expensive paper of a special purpose can be used for a drop ink-jet digital printing. High-quality color imprints can also be obtained on ordinary offset and coated paper, coated before printing with special primers based on interpolymeric complexes of polyvinyl alcohol, which will provide sufficient optical density, contrast of images, and expand the possibilities of digital ink-jet printing.

The infrared absorbing inkjet ink is composed of infrared absorbing materials, resin, assistant agent and solvent that has a great influence on the main performance of the ink. Based on the consideration of environmental factors, five alcoholic solvents were chosen and prepared into ink samples respectively. The effect of different solvents on the properties of the ink was discussed. Then the ink sample was prepared by the most optimal proportion of blends with solvent through the principle of formulating of recipe, the printing sample was attained and tested. The experiments showed that the solvents had a great influence on the properties of the viscosity, infrared absorption strength, surface tension of infrared absorbing ink, which directly affected the ink-jet printing eligibility and security effect. The developed ink has good performance and security effect.
