The construction industry consumes a tremendous amount of energy and resources each year in China. It is imperative to implement sustainable management in this industry in order to reduce the depletion of energy and resources. To conduct a sustainable development, this paper firstly describes the current energy consumption situation in China. The urgency for conducting sustainable management is emphasized. Afterward, evaluation standard for a green building in China is described. By using a life cycle method, specific measures which can be implemented to construct a green building are issued. It is concluded that as more and more attentions are being paid on this topic, sustainable building in China will get a rapid development in the coming years.

With the rapid development of urbanization in China, people’s requirements for the quality of life and environment are constantly improving. However, the shortage of resources and the deterioration of environment are becoming more and more serious. Environmental protection has become the only way for the sustainable development of society. Therefore, the application of more and more new green building materials has become the key to the sustainable development of the construction industry. In the face of the rapid development of modern construction industry, engineering quality and functional requirements have become the basic requirements, the green environmental protection has become a higher requirement. The application of green environmental protection building materials in engineering construction is the main development direction of the transformation of modern construction industry. At the same time, it conforms to the policy of environmentally sustainable development of all sectors of society, and promotes the construction industry to meet the higher requirements of green environmental protection living environment. This paper studied the performance and waterproof mechanism of a kind of high polymer (HDPE) self-adhered waterproofing membrane and its application in construction. Compared with the traditional waterproofing membrane, the high polymer self-adhered waterproofing membrane can give full play to the advantages of environmental protection on the premise of meeting the building quality.

With the rapid development of social economy, the demand for new energy is also increasing, and then the problem of large consumption also has a negative impact on the development of the construction industry. Under the concept of green building, the design and construction units pay more attention to energy conservation and environmental protection, so they actively use photovoltaic new energy in the field of electrical energy conservation of construction projects, so as to improve people's quality of life. Starting from the principles and characteristics of building electrical energy conservation, this paper discusses the methods of building electrical energy conservation, and analyzes how to use photovoltaic new energy in the field of building electrical energy conservation, hoping to better practice the concept of energy conservation.

Abstract: In order to continually meet the growing material and cultural needs of the people, leads to increasing scale in construction, to a certain extent, has accelerated the pace of urban construction in China, but also exposed many shortcomings. For example, the energy consumption of the construction industry is too large, it is pernicious to the sustainable development of modern society in China, and the substance of green building is use of energy-saving harmless resources to build a comfortable and healthy living environment,to ensure the quality of living environment and reduce the threat to health of human. With the strength of economic benefits, energy conservation and other advantages, making a major contributions to the economic environment. Therefore, this research will study from the relevant requirements of green building design,in-depth discussion of green building design techniques as a reference for the industry practitioners.

The construction industry plays an important role in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and reducing the impact on climate change through the introduction of green building principles. So the article has been devoted to this type of construction as an important area of sustainable development. The interaction of climate change and construction activities has been substantiated in the article. Tasks and principles of sustainable construction have been analyzed. The economic, ecological and social benefits of green construction have been studied. The difference between traditional and green construction has been described. The current state of development of sustainable construction in Ukraine and the world has been considered. Prospects for green construction in Ukraine have been identified. The urgency and necessity of its implementation in our country have been proved.

Sustainable development is a hot topic in today’s world since it could help us to meet the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. As a civil engineering student, to meet our needs, we must be willing to learn and adapt and to continue to do so in the future. For example, infrastructures for changing climate, and earthquake and flood resistant buildings. It is our responsibility to be innovative in our practices and find solutions for the issues that our planet faces. Green material plays a key role in sustainable development. They are the local and renewable materials that are used to construct energy efficient structures. Green buildings are not just about little more efficiency. But it creates less waste and greenhouse gases and supports clean environment and healthy living. Materials, energy, water and health are the key elements of green building. This paper is a review on green materials and green construction and its importance in growing sustainability trends. It is a question that disturbs minds of civil engineers around the world that how could construction industry bother sustainability. Construction industry, from energy usage to emissions, by its very nature is a large user of natural resources. Besides having potential for building over wild habitats, it also has larger environmental impact. It uses fossil fuels for its heavy machinery. World’s 36% energy usage and 40% CO2 emissions are solely from construction industry. Thus, this industry is under pressure to decrease its environmental impact. So, usage of renewable and recyclable resources, and reducing energy consumption and waste should be the major goals of this industry which could fulfil the idea of green construction. It should also adhere to the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility- the idea that business should support good causes.

There is little provision about construction in the assessment system for green building in China, but green construction plays an important role in green building and it is a trend that the assessment system for green building should include the green construction in China. Based on contrasts of evaluation standard for green building, combining with operation experiments of green Olympic building assessment system, difficulties in developing of green construction industry in China is proposed such as policy, time, concept and materials. Thus, popularizing measures for green construction are suggested, including extending standards for green building, establishing owner inspiriting system and building system, developing popularity effect of green construction.

At present, China is in a period of rapid development of urbanization. However, the current focus of architectural design is mainly in the city, which makes rural residential development has lagged far behind in the town. In fact, in the country's vast rural areas still exists many problems, and the problems of energy-saving are still in the initial stage. Meanwhile, the future development of the rural areas will affect China's overall level of development directly, therefore, promoting and developing green building in rural areas, will be conducive to the sustainable development of our country. The thesis combines the practical problems of the rural areas, discussed the content of the rural residential energy conservation design in detail from the perspective of sustainable development, from the planning and layout, building materials, energy utilization and other aspects, in order to provide a reference for the development of rural residential energy conservation.

Since the 21st century, the idea of green constructing has gradually become popular again was launched in many countries, which has become a popular alternative to sustainable development construction industry. Over the past few decades, many scholars and experts have done more research on the green structure. Green construction technology is one of the world’s leading topics set to reduce the major impact of the construction industry on the environment, society and the economy. The world has an urgent need for sustainability and an intelligent development as the problem of pollution and global warming grows rapidly around the world. Major climate change has also been noted and experience globally due to the proliferation of Green House Gases (GHG's). The purpose of this paper is to focus on how sustainable constructing material can help reduce the impact of environmental degradation, and produce healthy buildings that are sustainable for the human being and for our environment.

Sustainable development in the construction industry demands implementation of a green rating procedure and certification to assess building. The rating tools set benchmarks for green measures for constructing and use of buildings to reduce their negative impacts on environment thereby making it more sustainable. In this paper, Rating systems and certifications across the globe are studied and compared to give a clear understanding of all for any green building project to be evaluated upon. There are 18 major certifications and 18 rating systems all over the world, however in India there are three rating systems which are mostly used viz. IGBC, GRIHA, LEED. It is recommended that a more simple system is needed for enhancing the participation of all stakeholders in Green building construction thereby leading to sustainable development.
