The effects of benzyl urea into RHDPE/NR/CFF composites with different fibers loading were studied. The composites were prepared using BrabenderPlasticorder at 160 °C with rotor speed of 50rpm. The composites were characterized in respect of their tensile properties and morphology. The results indicated that RHDPE/NR/CFF with benzyl urea composites show higher values of tensile strength, Youngs modulus, but lower elongation at break than RHDPE/NR/CFF composites. RHDPE/NR/CFF with benzyl urea composites gave a better interfacial adhesion between the matrix and the fiber than RHDPE/NR/CFF composites as evidence using SEM.

The effect of maleic anhydride as a coupling agent on the tensile properties and morphology of recycled high density polyethylene/wood fiber (rHDPE/WF) composites were studied. rHDPE/WF composites with different wood fiber loading and the addition of maleic anhydride were prepared with Brabender Plasticorder at temperature of 160°C and rotor speed of 50 rpm. The result indicated that rHDPE/WFM composites with maleic anhydride exhibit higher tensile strength and modulus of elasticity than rHDPE/WF composites. rHDPE/WFM with maleic anhydride composites gave a better interfacial adhesion between the matrix and the fiber than rHDPE/WF composites as evidence using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

The effect of salicylic acid as a coupling agent on the tensile properties, and morphology analysis of recycled high density polyethylene/wood fiber (rHDPE/WF) composites were studied. Both composites rHDPE/WF and rHDPE/WFM (treatment with salicylic acid) were prepared using Brabender Plasticorder at temperature of 160°C and rotor speed of 50 rpm. The result indicated that rHDPE/WFM composites with salicylic acid exhibit higher tensile strength and modulus of elasticity but lower elongation at break than rHDPE/WF composites. The SEM micrographs showed that the wood fiber was more widely dispersed in the rHDPE matrix with addition of ethyl salicylate than rHDPE/WFM.

The effect of caprolactam as a coupling agent on the tensile properties, swelling behavior and morphology analysis of recycled high density polyethylene/ natural rubber/ chicken feather fiber (R-HDPE/ NR/ CFF) composites was studied. The R-HDPE/NR/CFF composites with and without caprolactam were prepared using Brabender Plasticorder at 160°C and rotor speed of 50 rpm. The results indicated that R-HDPE/NR/CFF with caprolactam showed higher value of tensile strength but lower elongation at break and mass swell percentage than R-HDPE/NR/CFF composites. SEM morphology showed that the addition of caprolactam improved the fiber matrix-interfacial adhesion and good dispersion of the fiber in the R-HDPE/NR blends.

The effect of isophathalic acid-maleic anhydride (IAMA) as a compatibilizer on the tensile properties and swelling behavior of ethylene vinyl acetate /natural rubber/ feldspar (EVA/NR/PF) composites were studied. The EVA/NR/PF composites with and without IAMA were prepared using Brabender Plasticoder at 160oC with 50rpm rotor speed. The results indicated that EVA/NR/PF/IAMA showed higher value of tensile strength and M100 but lower elongation at break and percentage mass swell compared to EVA/NR/PF composites.

This research focused on the utilization of kapok husk (KH) as filler in low linear density polyethylene (LLDPE). The effect of filler content on tensile properties and morphology of LLDPE/KH eco-composites were investigated. The eco-composites were prepared by using Brabender Plasticiser EC Plus at temperature 160 °C and rotor speed 50 rpm. The results indicated that the tensile strength and elongation at break decreased with KH content increased. However, the modulus of elasticity increased with increasing of KH content. The morphology study of eco-composites exhibit poor interfacial adhesion between KH and LLDPE.

Wollastonite is one type of inorganic filler. The effects of wollastonite loading on tensile properties of wollastonite (WS) filled high density polyethylene (HDPE)/Natural Rubber (NR) composites was studied. The HDPE/NR/WS composites were prepared by using Brabender EC Plus at a temperature of 180 °C with rotor speed of 50 rpm for 10 min. It was found that the increasing of wollastonite loading had decreased the tensile strength and elongation at break, whereas the Young’s modulus of the HDPE/NR/WS composites had increased with the increasing of wollastonite loading.

The effects of polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride (PEgMAH) as a compatibilizer on the tensile properties and swelling behavior of ethylene vinyl acetate /Natural Rubber/ Feldspar (EVA/NR/FP) composites were studied. The EVA/NR/FP composites with and without PEgMAH were prepared using Brabender Plasticoder at 160oC with 50rpm rotor speed. The results indicated that EVA/NR/FP/PEgMAH had higher value of tensile strength and M100 but lower elongation at break and percentage mass swell.

In this work, the effect of PMMA in low density polyethylene/water hyacinth fibers composites were prepared and characterized in terms of tensile properties and FTIR characteristics. Water hyacinth fibers (WHF) were incorporated into the LDPE matrix with different fiber loading. LDPE/WHF and LDPE/WHFPMMAcomposites were prepared with Z-blade mixer at 180 °C with rotor speed of 50 rpm. The PMMA modified WHF increased the tensile strength and Young’s modulus while reduced the elongation at break of LDPE/WHFPMMAcomposites in comparison with LDPE/WHF composites. The absorption peak at 1736.28 cm-1indicated the presence of ester carbonyl group (C=O) in LDPE/WHFPMMAcomposites.

This paper describes tensile properties, and morphology analysis of different composition of RHDPE and EVA blends were studied. The main goals are to describe the effect of Caprolactam as compatibilizer used to improve the compatibility between RHDPE and EVA. The RHDPE/EVA blends were prepared at 160°C and the rotor speed of 50rpm in an internal mixer. The tensile strength for RHDPE/EVA blends increased, while adding Caprolactam by 6phr in the blend formulation significantly improved the tensile properties. The SEM micrograph show a better interfacial adhesion between RHDPE and EVA phases for RHDEP/EVA/Caprolactam blends than RHDPE/EVA blends.
