The networking technology in warehouse management can be automated cargo management, operations and real-time access to inventory. Application networking technology greatly reduces the workload of warehouse management and unnecessary losses. Through the intelligent management of the goods, but also improve the utilization of warehouse space, to enable enterprises to understand the real-time inventory, thereby reducing inventory costs, improve the accuracy of inventory management.

As one of the freshest technologies nowadays, the development of Internet of Things is attracting more and more concerns. Internet of Things is able to connect all the items to Internet via information technology such as RFID and Wireless Sensor Network, in order to realize intelligent identification and management. It is supposed in Internet of Things environments, satisfactory services can be provided through any devices or any networks, whenever it is demanded. It makes that not only PC device but also other small devices with intelligence can be connected to the same network. As a result, It is much more convenient for people to obtain real-time information and then to take corresponding actions.

Conventional retail store inventory management systems rely on stockroom actions. However, especially in big scale retail stores, a certain amount of goods is placed on the display shelves. The items placed on the display shelves are not counted until their tags are identified by a cash register and marked as sold in the inventory management system. In this study, we propose a smart shelf that is capable of counting the specific items placed on it by detecting the location and the weight of the items. Our approach assumes that specific items in a retail store are placed in a specified location on each shelf, which is a widely preferred approach. The identified product information is then transferred to the inventory management system through the local network connection, and products on the display shelves can be counted in real time. The results show that the location and weight of the items can be identified with remarkable accuracy.

Dental laboratories require manpower resources for manufacturing prostheses and inventory management. In this paper, we developed an automated inventory management system for dental laboratories to improve the production efficiency. A sensing system was developed based on the framework of Internet of things to collect the information of cobalt-chromium disks both in the storage room and manufacturing area, and an expert system was developed to automatically conduct inventory management based on the established rules. The proposed system can reduce the time of recording data and also assist the manager in configuring and managing material orders. The experimental results showed that a large amount of working time is reduced, resulting in the benefits of saving money and improving efficiency in dental manufacturing.

Abstract With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), a new and important research direction is possible using IoT to solve the problems of information and intelligence in the metallurgical industry. This paper proposes an intelligent monitoring network based on networking technology and uses the coking process as the research object. The construction of a coking process intelligence monitoring network should focus on the formation of a perception layer network and build on a ZigBee mesh clustered network. Moreover, it also puts forward a network routing establishment and data transmission mechanism. This study provides an effective reference for the wide application of the IoT in the intelligent management and monitoring of the metallurgical process.

The technological transformation has resulted in a massive change in businesses around the world. Inventory management, which an essential part of every business, has also been impacted a lot. Inventory management is a subset of the broader Supply Chain Management (SCM) and mainly aims at achieving customer demands by storing products and managing inventory levels. Internet of Things (IoT) has become a hot topic these days, and the paper's fundamental objective is to examine the importance of IoT and how can it be beneficial in managing the inventory of the retail, pharmaceutical sector. A brief analysis of the existing inventory management practices carried out by the retail pharmacies in the Cachar district of Assam was conducted to analyze the present scenario and the problems encountered by the pharmacists in managing their stocks. The paper then discusses the potential benefits of adopting a smart inventory management system for controlling their inventory levels so that they prevent losing customers due to a shortage of medicines. A conceptual framework for implementing an IoT based inventory management in the retail pharmacies has been proposed which can prove to be beneficial in providing real-time transparency and give practical guidelines for the retail pharmacies that are using the traditional approaches.
