The simulation of the Sm(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr)7.5 type alloy domain structure formation after various thermal treatments was carried out by FMRM program based on a phenomenological approach to the analysis of the uniaxial highly anisotropic ferromagnets demagnetization processes. It is shown that the domain structure of the alloy in the thermally demagnetized state expands as the coercive force of the alloy decreases. It is noted that the domains size increasing process is associated not only with a decrease in the coercive force but also with a change in the influence of the magnetostatic interaction.

The main magnetic parameters sensitive to the structure of steels are the parameters of their saturation loop of magnetic hysteresis: the coercive force Hcs and remanent magnetization Mrs. The saturation magnetization or saturation intensity Mr is most sensitive to the phase composition of steels. The variety of steel grades and modes of technological treatment (e.g., heat treatment, mechanical load) determined the use of magnetic structurescopy and magnetic characteristics — the coercive force Hc, remanent magnetization Mr , and specific hysteresis losses Wh on the subloops of the magnetic hysteresis of steels — as control parameters in diagnostics of the stressed and structural states of steel structures and pipelines. It has been shown that changes in Hc, Mr , and Wh are more sensitive to structural stresses and structures of steels than the parameters of the saturation hysteresis loop of magnetic hysteresis (Hcs, Mrs, and Mrs). The formulas for calculating Hc, Mr and Wh are presented to be used for estimation of changes in the parameters upon heat treatment of steels. Features of the structural sensitivity of the subloop characteristics and expediency of their use for magnetic structural and phase analyzes are determined. Thus, the range of changes in Ìr attributed to the structural changes in steels upon gradual Hm decrease is many times wider compared to the range of possible changes in Mrs under the same conditions. Conditions (relations between the magnetic parameters) and recommendations regarding the choice of the field strength Hm are given which provide the justified use of Hc, Mr and Wh parameters in magnetic structurescopy

Peroxidase (POD) associated with the browning of fresh-cut fruits and vegetableswas extracted from purple skin eggplant(Solanum melongena L.) and characterised using reliable spectrophotometric methods. Maximal POD activity was found at 35 °C and pH 6.0 with guaiacol as the substrate. The enzyme was stable at his optimal temperature (35 °C) and hisat pH stability was in the range of 5.6 - 6.6.Peroxidase retained its full activity in the presence of ion K+, Cu2+, Na+, Pb2+ and Ba2+ but were inhibited strongly by the ion Fe2+ and Mg2+ and the reducing agents as sodium thiosulfateand ascorbic acid. Effect of heattreatment on eggplant peroxidase showed that D-values decreased with increasing temperature, indicating faster peroxidase inactivation at higher temperatures. At 60 °C, the D-values ranged from 20.42 to 54.24 min. Hence, heat treatment at 60 °C for 30 min reduced browning of eggplant fruit. These data can be used to predict prevention of browning in the purple skin eggplantby thermal inactivation and the use of chimical agents onthe enzyme.

ABSTRACTUsing an in-situ stress measurement technique that measures stress as a function of annealing temperature, instabilities in mechanical stress induced by heat treatment in a variety of doped/undoped SiO2 films deposited by APCVD, LPCVD and PECVD techniques have been investigated. A large hysteresis in mechanical stress, caused by first heat treatment to which the as-deposited films are subjected, has been observed in films deposited by APCVD/LPCVD techniques. No such hysteresis is obsesrved in films deposited by PECVD technique. Hysteresis in APCVD/LPCVD films is found to vanish once the films are heat treated at or above 800°C. The results are discussed in terms of oxide densification, the presence of hydrogenous species, and phosphorous.

The ground state magnetization of nanowires built of ferromagnetic crystallites is considered taking into account the magnetostatic interaction. The criterion of formation of domains is found. The thickness of a domain wall is calculated analytically and the results are compared with the numerical simulations. We show that when the exchange coupling between crystallites is absent its role is played by magnetostatics that ensures the existence of stable domain structure. The direction of the induced anisotropy axis is shown to be determined by the shape of crystallites.
