In this paper we investigate the elaboration of an efficient production schedule for sustainable manufacturing systems. Because renewable energies are irregular by nature as they often depend on meteorological conditions (e.g. wind and solar energy), their use in the competitive field of manufacturing production must be addressed with caution. The challenge is to elaborate a reliable production schedule that accommodates energy stochastic fluctuations while satisfying customer and operational constraints. We propose to solve the problem using a meta-heuristic based on Tabu search and discuss major elements that are critical to the success of this approach.

A problem to determine a production schedule which minimises the cost of energy used for manufacturing is studied. The scenario assumes that each production task has assigned constant power consumption, price of power from conventional electrical grid system is defined by time-of-use tariffs, and a component of free of charge renewable energy is available for the manufacturing system. The objective is to find the most cost-efficient production plan, subject to constraints involving predefined precedence relationships between the tasks and a bounded makespan. Two independent optimisation approaches have been developed, based on significantly different paradigms, namely mixed-integer linear programming and tabu search metaheuristic. Both of them have been verified and compared in extensive computational experiments. The tabu search-based approach has turned out to be generally more efficient in the sense of the obtained objective function values, but advantages of the use of linear programming have also been identified. The results confirm that it is possible to develop efficient computational methods to optimise energy cost under circumstances typical of manufacturing companies. The set of numerous benchmark instances and their solutions have been archived and it can be reused in further research.

This paper deals with the implementation of Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing System (ADiMS) concept in real-time scheduling in order to solve scheduling problems. Basically production scheduling is an important thing and has significant role in manufacturing system. Generally unpredictable conditions such as machine breakdown, absenteeism, or material shortages, in manufacturing system are a problem. These conditions will make the production schedule could not be implemented as planned. However, these conditions are difficult to be avoided and almost always occur in manufacturing systems. A real-time scheduling based on ADiMS concept that provide flexibility, adaptability, and capable could be use to face this problem. In this paper, the problem is limited to real-time scheduling procedures. The result of the case study is every process has been scheduled real-time manually in certain order by the real-time scheduling procedures based on ADiMS. This is showed that ADiMS concept could be implemented in a real-time scheduling and provides flexibility, adaptability, and capable to solve the scheduling problems.

Scheduling is a very important aspect because in it there are elements of planning and production control for a company that can send goods in accordance with a predetermined time, to obtain a minimum total time of completion. The main problem faced by PT. ML is the delay in completing orders that affect delivery time to customer because the implementation of production scheduling on the factory floor has not produced the makespan that matches the existing order. Therefore, it is required to find optimal problem solving solutions in determining the production schedule to minimize the total time of elimination (makespan) of all orders. In this study, scheduling using the Simulated Annealing (SA) method is expected to produce a total time of completion faster than the existing scheduling in the company.

AbstractDue to the stringent awareness toward the preservation and resuscitation of natural resources and the potential economic benefits, designing sustainable manufacturing enterprises has become a critical issue in recent years. This presents different challenges in coordinating the activities inside the manufacturing systems with the entire closed-loop supply chain. In this paper, a mixed-integer mathematical model for designing a hybrid-manufacturing-remanufacturing system in a closed-loop supply chain is presented. Noteworthy, the operational planning of a cellular hybrid manufacturing-remanufacturing system is coordinated with the tactical planning of a closed-loop supply chain. To improve the flexibility and reliability in the cellular hybrid manufacturing-remanufacturing system, alternative process routings and contingency process routings are considered. The mathematical model in this paper, to the best of our knowledge, is the first integrated model in the design of hybrid cellular manufacturing systems which considers main and contingency process routings as well as reliability of the manufacturing system.

This paper is under the research background of a switch machine production enterprise informatization projects, and the production schedule is mainly based on customer orders and sales forecasts. This paper mainly studies the combination of similar order processing sheets according to the similarity of types and specifications of products in an order processing sheet, and the experience of master production scheduling personnel, to generate the master production scheduling methods and techniques. Finally, studies the material requirements planning methods based on nested components, focusing on the configuration of parts and components of such products in the product configuration.
