Offshore wind power is eco-friendly new regeneration energy producing electricity using a strong wind of the sea. Offshore wind power consists of pitch controller, nacelle, blade and transformer. Insulating oil for transformer needed to low pour point, high flash point and biodegradable considering the low temperature of the sea and environmental pollution. In this study, polyglycerol fatty acid ester was prepared polyglycerol and fatty acid using various catalysts for insulating oils. We investigated the effect of catalysts on the yield of polyglycerol fatty acid ester. In addition, we were measured the pour point and flash point of the prepared polyglycerol fatty acid ester.

Recently the wind power was customized to offshore due to more abundant wind than onshore. Transformer is a multi-terminal electrical device that transforms electrical energy and is filled with insulating oil. This study presents the feasibility of diglycerol ester as insulating oil for offshore wind turbine transformers. The sulfated zirconia (SZ) was prepared by the sol-gel method for use on synthesize of diglycerol ester. The diglycerol ester was synthesized with diglycerol and fatty acids over SZ for use on insulating oil of offshore wind turbine transformer. The SZ600 has the highest conversion of fatty acids. The insulation properties of synthesized diglycerol ester over SZ600 shows that the pour point is-50°C and the flash point is 316°C. Therefore, it is suitable for diglycerol ester over SZ600 to be used in offshore wind turbine transformer.

With resource crisis and environmental crisis increasingly grim, many countries turn the focus to pollution-free and renewable wind energy resources, which are mainly used for offshore wind power generation, seawater desalination and heating, etc., on the premise that the characteristics of resources are fully grasped. In this study, the evaluation of offshore wind energy in offshore waters in China, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of existing studies were overviewed from four aspects: the spatial-temporal characteristics of wind energy, wind energy classification, the short-term forecast of wind energy and the long-term projection of wind energy, according to the research content and the future considerations about wind energy evaluation (evaluation of wind energy on islands and reefs, the impact of wind energy development on human health) were envisaged, in the hope of providing a scientific basis for the site selection and business operation ‘or military applications’ here (after business operation), etc. of wind energy development, ‘aritime navigation against environmental construction,’ here and also contributing to the sustainable development and health of human beings.
