A case of functional dysacusis was subjected to routine as well as electric response testing. Test results were unreliable and electrical cortical responses to stimuli delivered to the right ear were so poor that the results could not be utilized. A marked difference between the raw EEG tracings was observed when stimuli were switched between left to right ears. This fact was eventually used to determine the hearing threshold level of the right ear.

Changing the dc sgnal to ac signal is done for te purpose of load regulations, such as the ac motor speed, heater and lamp. Inverter work is done by ac rectification first and then converted again to a 1 phase ac signal. The ac output signal is a sinosoidal PWM (SPWM) type of unipolar 220 volts from the input 24 volt dc voltage. Unipolar SPWM signal generation is done by a microcontroller with programming. The number of counts (resolutions) of the SPWM signal and the period are set from the amount in the register, can be set to 8 bits or other constants. The power part of the SPWM inverter is the N channel MOSFET bridge circuit H with IR2110 solid state driver. Step transformer as a load while step-up the inverter output voltage. Determination of the output frequency is set through a rotary encoder that can be adjusted up (increment) or down (decrement). There are 5 frequency variations, namely 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 Hz. To get the inverter efficiency, the type of MOSFET used is chosen to have the type that has a low RDS (on) value and the right driving pulse, according to the switch configuration. Measurement of the output frequency is done by reading the image on the osciloscope. The observations show a frequency value that is almost the same as the constant. The test results show the difference in output voltage which is reduced at a 30 watt load.

Inappropriately high school majors can be detrimental to students in the future. With the right majors are expected to maximize the potential, talent and ability of individual students, so that will maximize the academic value of these students. The method of majors conducted in a school is basically still using conventional methods so there are some weaknesses of the method and in the determination of its course only based on ranking, without specifying the weight of each criteria, with the method based on the analysis and experience that happened there are still some students can not compete with his classmates in developing his academic potential and ultimately to solve the problem in one school to re-clarify at the beginning of the even semester which aims to map the ability of each student and the necessity to build a student majors application based on the academic potential that is able to generate maximum decisions from each student, by looking at the existing problems it is needed an alternative solution that is by designing and building Supporting System Decision in Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method, supported by Unified Modeling Language (UML) as application design, PHP as programming language and MySQL as its database. In the test of the built application, using the Blackbox method, and the system feasibility test results using 25 test attributes, 21 valid attributes and 4 invalid attributes and a feasibility value generated from the system of 84%, thus the application is eligible to use despite the repair and development still needs to be improved.

Introduction: Lipomas among the most common benign neoplasms and rarely observed in parotid glands. We present a new case of lipoma in the superficial and deep lobes of the right parotid gland. Case report: A 52-year-old woman with painless and progressive inflation in the right preauricular region was referred to us. Computed Tomography scanning showed a hypodense area 5.2×4 cm in dimension in the right parotid gland region, and the facial nerve was fully exposed. The patient underwent parotidectomy, during which extensive removal of the mass was done. The pathology report cited a yellow-colored fatty tissue mass, 5×4×2 in dimension. In the microscopic report, lipoma of the parotid gland was seen. Conclusion: Determination of the exact tumor location is very important in the surgical approach in such cases. To our knowledge, this case seems to be an extremely rare case of lipoma in the superficial and deep lobes of the parotid. [GMJ. 2012;1(2):88-90]

Introduction. Giant cell (temporal) arteritis refers to a group of chronic and acute systemic vasculitis mainly affecting the extracranial and intracranial arteries of large and medium caliber. Loss of vision due to anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (AION) or occlusion of the central retinal artery is one of the most severe and most common complications of giant cell arteritis. This case report describes a patient with giant cell arteritis, the outcome of it was a total vision loss in the right eye. The patient repeatedly visited the ophthalmologists in the outpatient clinics with complaints of intermittent episodes of vision loss.Purpose. To present methods of diagnosis and treatment, through which the doctor at the initial reception will be able to suspect the disease and start treatment timely.Conclusions. The anamnestic criteria for the GCA diagnosis in the practice of ophthalmologist are: female, age over 50 years, headaches with paresthesia, intermittent lameness of the mandible, short-term episodes of vision loss. The necessary laboratory methods of research include: clinical blood test with determination of erythrocyte sedimentation rate, determination of C-reactive protein level.

Popliteal artery thrombosis may present as a complication of an osteochondroma located in the vicinity of the knee joint. This is a case report of a 26-year-old man with symptoms of the right lower extremity ischaemia without a previous history of vascular disease or trauma. Plain radiography, magnetic resonance angiography and Doppler ultrasonography documented the presence of an osteochondrous structure of the proximal tibial metaphysis, which displaced and compressed the popliteal artery, causing its occlusion due to intraluminal thrombosis..The patient was operated and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteochondroma.

The combined interactions of mode and tempo on emotional responses to music were investigated using both self-reports and electroencephalogram (EEG) activity. A musical excerpt was performed in three different modes and tempi. Participants rated the emotional content of the resulting nine stimuli and their EEG activity was recorded. Musical modes influence the valence of emotion with major mode being evaluated happier and more serene, than minor and locrian modes. In EEG frontal activity, major mode was associated with an increased alpha activation in the left hemisphere compared to minor and locrian modes, which, in turn, induced increased activation in the right hemisphere. The tempo modulates the arousal value of emotion with faster tempi associated with stronger feeling of happiness and anger and this effect is associated in EEG with an increase of frontal activation in the left hemisphere. By contrast, slow tempo induced decreased frontal activation in the left hemisphere. Some interactive effects were found between mode and tempo: An increase of tempo modulated the emotion differently depending on the mode of the piece.

Choice of profession is a social phenomenon that every person has to face in life. Numerous studies convince us that not only the well-being of a person depends on the chosen work, but also his attitude to himself and life in general, therefore, the right and timely professional choice is very important. Research about factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions in Ukraine shows that self-determination is an important factor in the socialization of young person, and the factors that determine students' career choices become an actual problem of nowadays. The present study involved full-time and part-time students of Institute of Philology and Mass Communications of Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine" in order to examine the factors of career self-determination of students of higher education institutions (N=189). Diagnostic factors of career self-determination of students studying in the third and fourth year were carried out using the author's questionnaire. Processing of obtained data was carried out using the Excel 2010 program; factorial and comparative analysis were applied. Results of the study showed that initial stage of career self-determination falls down on the third and fourth studying year at the university, when an image of future career and career orientations begin to form. At the same time, the content of career self-determination in this period is contradictory and uncertain, therefore, the implementation of pedagogical support of this process among students is effective.
