In addition to core, logging, and other previous research results, this paper determines the fault development and tectonic evolution process of the Baxian sag with the Paleogene rift stage based on 3D seismic data. The Paleogene tectonic evolution of the sag can be divided into three episodes and six evolution stages, and three types of faults are identified: intensely active normal, active normal, and weakly active normal. One first-order sequence, three second-order sequences, and fourteen third-order sequences of the Paleogene Baxian sag were created, and fifteen sequence boundaries were recognised. According to the rifting background and sedimentary facies development characteristics of each episode, five combination types of the depositional system associations were identified, including alluvial fan-fluvial and braided-delta-lacustrine in an early rifting episode, delta-lacustrine and nearshore subaqueous fan-lacustrine in the middle rifting episode, and fluvial-flood plain in the late rifting episode. Six response models of filling and the evolution process in Paleogene Baxian sag were concluded. The multi-episodes tectonic cycles of faulted lake basins resulted in complex paleogeomorphology and variable provenance supply, forming abundant sequence structure patterns and different filling and evolution processes of faulted lake basins. The stable rifting stage is favourable to form and preserve high-quality source rock, and develop various sedimentary facies and sandbody types, which is a potential area for exploration of a lithologic stratigraphic oil and gas reservoir.

The reservoir in different parts of buried-hill draping zone is often quite different, so it is of great significance to clarify the reservoir characteristics for exploration and development. Based on core, well logging, seismic data and production data, reservoir characteristics of oil layer Ⅱ in the lower second member of Dongying Formation of L oilfield, Bohai Bay Basin, offshore eastern China are systematically studied. Analyses of seismic facies, well-seismic combination, paleogeomorphology, and sedimentary characteristics are carried out. Sediment source supply, lake level and buried hill basement geomorphology all contribute to reservoir quality. The research suggests that the different parts of buried-hill draping zone can be divided into four types. Reservoir thickness and physical properties vary. The area where the provenance direction is consistent with the ancient valley direction is a favorable location for the development of high-quality reservoirs. Under the guidance of the results, oilfield production practices in L oilfield offshore China are successful. Knowledge gained from study of L oilfield has application to the development of other similar fields.

The Nanpu 5th construct is in the western part of Huanghua Depression Nanpu Sag of Bohai Bay Basin, was a complicated anticline belt that develops between Jian Dong fault and the downthrown side of the southwestern Zhuang fault and the favorable exploration area is 120km2. On the basis of the region's large number of multi-channel seismic data analysis and interpretation, the trap types, structural characteristics and distribution of local structures between the layers of the region are researched. Interlayer local structures in the area are mainly divided into nose structure and small anticline. The fault zone is a structural high in the region, to promote oil and gas to migrate and accumulate to the low-potential zones that become favorable zones for hydrocarbon accumulation, but the real decisive construct parts of the hydrocarbon accumulation is positive local structure in favorable zones which point out the region for hydrocarbon accumulation.

Buried hill reservoir fracture description and reservoir simulation technology have been a hot research, but also is one of the key issues that restrict the efficient development of such reservoirs. Based on JZ buried hill reservoir which heterogeneity is strong, some wells water channeling fast and difficult to control the situation for fracture affect, a typical block of dual medium reservoir numerical models which was comprehensive variety of information, discrete fracture characterization and geological modeling is established. The fractured reservoir numerical model is simulated through Eclipse software to seek the law of remaining oil distribution. Through the reservoir geological reserves and production history matching, the remaining oil distribution of main production horizon is forecasted. On this basis, the results of different oilfield development adjustment programs are predicted by numerical simulation.
