Additively manufactured products offer extensive variety to consumers than many forms of production. Additive manufacturing (AM) production system allows consumer involvement, which has created a huge but largely untapped market. However, there is a gap between production and the market. Therefore, AM towards product production which focuses on the Commercialization of Additive Manufactured Products (CAMPs) is imperative. Despite the importance of CAMP, specific focus of research on the commercialization of additively manufactured products are scanty. There is also a lack of knowledge about the conceptual structure, intellectual structure, research trends, and the thematic structure of CAMP research. To contribute to this stream of research, this study takes an exploratory dimension by conducting a bibliometric analysis of publications on the CAMP. The R package and its associated biblioshiny were the software used. The study reveals that studies on CAMP started in 2007 with renewed interest starting from 2012. Importantly, it was found that the most cited articles focused on the economic potential of AM products in the home and specific industries. Also, there is an increasing focus on the business models that are necessary for the commercialisation of AM products. Generally, there is a shift in focus from the firm to the market. However, this is a niche area and requires more attention. Themes such as commercialization are just emerging, and researchers need to devote more time and effort to the consumer side of the commercialization of AM products.

AbstractWe investigate the structural constants of the KP hierarchy, which appear as universal coefficients in the paper of Natanzon–Zabrodin arXiv:1509.04472. It turns out that these constants have a combinatorial description in terms of transport coefficients in the theory of flow networks. Considering its properties we want to point out three novel directions of KP combinatorial structure research: connection with topological recursion, eigenvalue model for the structural constants and its deformations, possible deformations of KP hierarchy in terms of the structural constants. Firstly, in this paper we study the internal structure of these coefficients which involves: (1) construction of generating functions that have interesting properties by themselves; (2) restrictions on topological recursion initial data; (3) construction of integral representation or matrix model for these coefficients with non-trivial Ward identities. This shows that these coefficients appear in various problems of mathematical physics, which increases their value and significance. Secondly, we discuss their role in integrability of KP hierarchy considering possible deformation of these coefficients without changing the equations on $$\tau $$ τ -function. We consider several plausible deformations. While most failed even very basic checks, one deformation (involving Macdonald polynomials) passes all the simple checks and requires more thorough study.

Abstract A previous meta-analysis of dimensional structure research published during the latter half of the 20th century revealed significant intercorrelation among structural dimensions inspired by Max Weber's bureaucratic ideal type, providing support for continued research on dimensional structures and for the bureaucratic structural model that served as its theoretical foundation. A new meta-analysis reported in this article, motivated by questions regarding the continued applicability of bureaucratic dimensional models in the later era of new organization forms, indicates that many of the interrelationships among five structural dimensions (formalization, standardization, specialization, vertical differentiation, and decentralization) have weakened since the time of the earlier meta-analysis. The results of this study, conducted using a sample of 346 correlations from a collection of 155 published articles, are interpreted as failing to provide consistent evidence supporting a central tenet of the bureaucratic structural model, therefore, as indicating that dimensional structural research now lacks a viable theoretical foundation.

Research relevance: there are isomorphic features of the investigated interjections in semantics, pragmatic terms and in structure. Research objectives: to reveal the emotional meaning of the Russian interjection Tsyts and the way of its translation into English and Kyrgyz languages. Research materials and methods: the authors use the method of translation and comparison of interjections in The Quiet Don by M. Sholokhov, Farewell to Gyulsary by Ch. Aitmatov and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by M. Twain literary works. Research results: the isomorphic features of the studied interjections coincide in their pragmatic characteristics, structure, meaning and nominative function. Conclusions: In the languages under consideration, by their syntactic nature, they can act as independent sentences.

Abstract Abui is a Papuan language spoken in Alor Island, South-East Indonesia. Although there are rich studies on the Abui language and its structure, research on Abui toponymy, which aids the understanding of language, culture, and society, deserves greater attention. This paper analyzes features of Abui society through Abui toponyms collected using Field Linguistics and Language Documentation methods. It finds that, because place names communicate valuable information on peoples and territories, Abui toponyms reflect the agrarian lifestyle of Abui speakers and, more broadly, the close relationship that the people have with their landscape. Furthermore, Abui toponyms express positive traits in the Abui culture like kinship ties and bravery. Notwithstanding, like other pre-literate and indigenous societies, oral stories are commonly used to explain how places are named. This paper augments the existing Abui toponymic studies on the connection between names and the places they name and provides a deeper understanding of the Abui language, culture, and society.

Abstract Introduction Genome sequence plays an important role in both basic and applied studies. Gossypium raimondii, the putative contributor of the D subgenome of upland cotton (G. hirsutum), highlights the need to improve the genome quality rapidly and efficiently. Methods We performed Hi-C sequencing of G. raimondii and reassembled its genome based on a set of new Hi-C data and previously published scaffolds. We also compared the reassembled genome sequence with the previously published G. raimondii genomes for gene and genome sequence collinearity. Result A total of 98.42% of scaffold sequences were clustered successfully, among which 99.72% of the clustered sequences were ordered and 99.92% of the ordered sequences were oriented with high-quality. Further evaluation of results by heat-map and collinearity analysis revealed that the current reassembled genome is significantly improved than the previous one (Nat Genet 44:98–1103, 2012). Conclusion This improvement in G. raimondii genome not only provides a better reference to increase study efficiency but also offers a new way to assemble cotton genomes. Furthermore, Hi-C data of G. raimondii may be used for 3D structure research or regulating analysis.

Cultural fit is often neglected in (quantitative) research in (higher) education. However, there is a need to reintegrate questions of cultural fit – especially when the diversity of the student body increases and hopes for increasing equity of education remain unfulfilled, still. In this article, I propose a concept of cultural fit, closely tied to the works of Bourdieu and social structure research. Additionally, I present some analyses on the effects of cultural fit on students’ motives of self-improvement, routes to university, and performance. Drawing on survey data of 1.073 undergraduate students at a German university, analyses confirm that the proposed concept of cultural fit can be used to distinguish between students who are culturally fit and misfits. Moreover, analyses show that cultural fit does have significant effects on the routes to university and performance. In this way, this article may help to unveil mechanisms of (cultural) closing of institutions of higher education that are invisible to research.

The research contained herein studied the effect of sister holes on film cooling. This novel technique surrounds a primary injection hole by two or four smaller sister holes to actively maintain flow adhesion along the surface of the blade. A numerical evaluation using the realizable κ-ε turbulence model led to the determination that the use of sister holes significantly improves adiabatic effectiveness by countering the primary vertical flow structure. Research was performed to determine the optimal hole configuration, arriving at the conclusion that placing sister holes slightly downstream of the primary injection hole improves the near-hole effectiveness, while placing sister holes slightly upstream of the primary hole improves downstream effectiveness. Similar results were found in evaluating both long and short hole geometries with a significantly less coherent flow field arising form the short hole study. However, on the whole, the sister hole approach to film cooling was found to offer viable improvements over standard cooling regimes.
