Introduction: The motion of many real world systems is described by essentially non-linear and non-stationary models. A number of approaches to the control of such plants are based on constructing an internal model of non-stationarity. However, the non-stationarity model parameters can vary widely, leading to more errors. It is only assumed in this paper that the change rate of the object parameters is limited, while the initial uncertainty can be quite large.Purpose: Analysis of adaptive control algorithms for non-linear and time-varying systems with an explicit reference model, synthesized by the speed gradient method. Results: An estimate was obtained for the maximum deviation of a closed-loop system solution from the reference model solution. It is shown that with sufficiently slow changes in the parameters and a small initial uncertainty, the limit error in the system can be made arbitrarily small. Systems designed by the direct approach and systems based on the identification approach are both considered. The procedures for the synthesis of an adaptive regulator and analysis of the synthesized system are illustrated by an example.Practical relevance: The obtained results allow us to build and analyze a broad class of adaptive systems with reference models under non-stationary conditions.

Perceived Quality clusters different aspects that influence the customer’s perception of non-functional quality on a product that are perceive through senses. All together those aspects and the harmony between them reflect the producer’s ability to control product parameters and thereby also mirror the functional quality of the product. High Perceived Quality cannot be added to the product at the end of the developing process. Project prerequisites, system solution, factory capability etc. are criterion to succeed. Therefore, it is important to be able to evaluate Perceived Quality early in the process when product system solutions and architecture are defined, although data maturity is low. This paper presents a comprehensive framework to manage and support evaluation of Perceived Quality aspects in a product development process. The framework is based on an industrial process in combination with recent research within the field. The framework focuses on activities that can be performed at different stages in the developing process based on maturity of the CAD or styling data. For example, if the styling data is divided into different components by split-lines it has reached higher level of maturity then styling data that not has been divided. Consequently, the choice of applied method is based on data maturity, regardless phase in the developing process. The framework contains methods based on several different simulation and analysis techniques. Design methods, Computer-Aided Tolerancing and FEA based non-rigid variation simulation are represented in the framework.

A closed-loop lumped parameter network (LPN) coupled to a 3D domain is a powerful tool that can be used to model the global dynamics of the circulatory system. Coupling a 0D LPN to a 3D CFD domain is a numerically challenging problem, often associated with instabilities, extra computational cost, and loss of modularity. A computationally efficient finite element framework has been recently proposed that achieves numerical stability without sacrificing modularity [1]. This type of coupling introduces new challenges in the linear algebraic equation solver (LS), producing an strong coupling between flow and pressure that leads to an ill-conditioned tangent matrix. In this paper we exploit this strong coupling to obtain a novel and efficient algorithm for the linear solver (LS). We illustrate the efficiency of this method on several large-scale cardiovascular blood flow simulation problems.

Context-sensitive assistance systems offer a huge potential for the optimization of work processes. Through the integration of digital twins, context information can be provided instantly, whereby a modeling of work processes is hardly standardized. The following article presents a solution of an interactive software application for context-sensitive assistance systems combined with process patterns for a modeling of service activities.
