This study aims to compare the selection of private homeschool teachers using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) and Weight Product (WP) algorithms, the criteria that have been taken by the author to calculate their weight in selecting private teachers who excel and provide convenience with an assessment based on criteria. In this effort, the authors can build a private teacher selection system with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) algorithm to find the total weights of the teacher performance rating for each alternative on all attributes and compare it to the Weight Product (WP) algorithm using the multiplication technique to link the attribute rating. where the attribute type rating must be ranked first with the associated weight attribute. From the results of this study, the authors have described how the design and application of SAW and WP in making a Decision Support System in selecting private homeschooling teachers. Keywords:Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Weight Product (WP), Decision Support Systems, Teacher Selection, Homeschooling.

This chapter provides a model to analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of Learning Objects being used in primary and secondary schools by considering their place within that educational environment, paying particular attention to the manner in which they, like any resource, can aid or occlude productive interactions between teachers and students. It draws from a study of Australian and New Zealand schools that piloted the first release of Learning Objects from the Le@rning Federation. The chapter considers the place of Learning Objects within the overall systemic school environment, and in this environment, examines the individual classroom as the combination of tensions between the teacher’s needs, the students’ needs, and the potential available within the existing infrastructure. Within this framework, the chapter discusses the ways in which these three components interact during teacher selection of Learning Objects, students’ accession of Learning Objects in the classroom, and the use of the Learning Objects by students. It concludes by suggesting how students’ construction of knowledge can be enhanced through merging the capabilities of the resource with the needs of students and teachers.

In this study, elementary and secondary principals, from the states Ohio and Illinois, were not found to have different priorities for the selection of teachers regardless of the area/focal position being sought. The higher selection priorities are enthusiasm for teaching, communication skills, and interviewer's evaluation. The lower priorities are reference information, grade point average, and self-purposing. More research is needed to clarify how these criteria actually are used. Administrators and potential candidates need to be aware of and concentrate on the higher priorities in relation both to how they are demonstrated and to how they are evaluated.

Department of Education has a mission to improve the quality of education by conducting quality improvement programs in aspects of facilities/infrastructure, curriculum, and the availability of qualified teachers. By conducting an exemplary teacher assessment, which aims to provide incentives to teachers to excel in the field of competence.Based on the he survey taken from City Education Department states that exemplary teacher assessment is currently done manually. Decision Support System is expected to improve performance and simplify the process of selection of candidates. In this study, the data exemplary teacher candidate selection used includes teacher data repot that contains the marks of the orientation of services, integrity, commitment, discipline, cooperation, leadership, performance and behavior. The proposed methods to solve the the exemplary teacher selection are PROMETHEE and TOPSIS methods.Based on the test performed showed that, the precision, recall, and accuracy parameter of the selection of the exemplary teacher candidates, have been produced 91.19%, 54.31% and 88.41% respectively for PROMETHEE method, and have been resulted 90.50% 74.91% and 94.34% respectively, for TOPSIS method. Therefore, the TOPSIS method has a better performance compared with the PROMETHEE method.Keywors: Calon guru teladan, sistem pendukung keputusan, metode PROMETHEEE, dan metode TOPSIS.

Teacher is one of the most important components owned by school in sustaining life. It is a challenge for the management of educational institutions to be able to provide an appropriate, effective and efficient decision in data management in the competitive business world. It spurs schools to strive harder in improving the quality of the school. Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is a method that has a concept where the best selected alternative not only has the shortest distance from a ideal positive solution. But also has the longest distance from a ideal negative solution. The criteria used in this system vary, according to the selection of the best teachers provided by the institution. The applicant's score data that has been entered into the system will be calculated using TOPSIS method, by finding the farthest and closest distance from the positive and ideal negative solutions. Applicants with the highest v score will occupy the top of this system. Based on the results of the sample case selection shows that the results of calculations using the same system with manual calculations. This system is able to provide the best teacher recommendations.

This article compared two conditions (teacher selection of toys and child choice of toys) on the amount of time children were engaged appropriately with toys. An alternating treatment design was used, and three 2-year-old boys with autism participated. In the teacher-selected condition, the teacher gave the child a toy; and in the child-choice condition, the teacher gave the child a choice between two toys. The toys were selected from a pool of toys based on each child's frequency of contact with the toys from measures taken before the study started. A 5-second momentary time sampling procedure was used during daily 10-min sessions to measure the child's engagement with toys, nonengagement, and problematic behaviors. The teacher's behaviors (physical prompt, modeling, talking, silent observation, and other) also were measured. The data suggest the child-choice condition resulted in more engaged time for each participant and fewer problematic behaviors for two of the three boys. The results are discussed in terms of clinical applications and future research.

Abstract Some of the foundations of Heyes’ radical reasoning seem to be based on a fractional selection of available evidence. Using an ethological perspective, we argue against Heyes’ rapid dismissal of innate cognitive instincts. Heyes’ use of fMRI studies of literacy to claim that culture assembles pieces of mental technology seems an example of incorrect reverse inferences and overlap theories pervasive in cognitive neuroscience.
