Ayurveda, the science of life, which is an ancient healthcare system which is based on eternal principal of health life. The whole clinical approach of Ayurveda is based on prevention, promotive and curative as-pect.Vatakantaka is that disorder, which interfere with the free locomotion of the individual resulting in hindrance to his daily activities. Acharya Sushrutha explain it under Vatavyadi; & in due course, other au-thors like Vagbhata, Yogarathnakara, Chakradatta, Vangasena and Madhavakara also narrate the same. In Vatakantaka pain in the heel develops due to walking on uneven surfaces or excessive walking. Due to the Nidanas,Vata gets vitiated and reside at Gulpha Sandhi, produces the disease. Sushruta has mentioned different methods of management for different diseases. Here in the management of vatakantak, Acharya described, sneha, upanaha, agnikarma, bandhana and unmardana. Keeping in view of the many draw backs of modern methods of managements, a comparative clinical trial is aimed at the evaluation of the efficacy of Agnikarma with such and Upanaha with kottanchukkadi choorna in Vatakantaka with an in-tention to promote an effective, economical and simple treatment with no adverse effects

Ginger is one of the most valuable culinary medicinal spice with inestimable economic uses. Because it is, a well acknowledged plant both in folkloric and advanced medicine, there are no paucity of information on the many important uses of ginger in the literature. In this review, we conveyed important details on the chemistry, pharmacology, toxicity and clinical uses of ginger. Our review of over 171 articles showed that ginger use has a worldwide coverage. Randomized clinical trial studies on ginger are most prominent on the alleviation of pregnancy-induced nausea and vomiting with fascinating outcome. In addition, the prospective use as anti-inflammatory, thrombolytic, and anti-diabetic agent were well noticed. Although the dependent on plant as source of drug in the search for disease remedy is premised on their acclaimed effectiveness and safety, available data have showed plants may possess some toxic potential, overall, our review showed that ginger might be safe with no adverse effects when investigated in normal rodent and human.

This abstract serves to introduce a 10 minute video in which I will discuss issues pertaining to the structure of the healthcare system in Quebec. At the same time I will review the concept of community within and around that system. The relationship and interplay between the two will be explored in the hope that the viewer might find resonance and meaning, and perhaps a springboard to further reflection and conversation. Many perceive a need for change in both the organizational systems as well as in the existing cultures within healthcare institutions, both in and outside of Quebec. Yet we often feel powerless to act. I will touch upon ideas on how we can make a difference using our individual influence to bring about the changes we seek. The concepts under discussion are abstract. In the hope of creating a greater degree of tangibility, I will offer a metaphor – namely the long-term detrimental effects brought about by the disruption, and in many cases destruction, of vibrant North American communities, caused by the building of highways straight through their hearts. I will suggest that though there may have been benefits to the society as a whole arising from the building of those highways, the adverse effects extended well beyond the individual communities involved. With this metaphor in mind, I will present the argument that the current structure of healthcare in Quebec, brought into effect in 2015, has resulted in over-bureaucratization and “decommunitization”, with a consequent diminution in the presence and role of culture, ultimately representing a loss for the community at large. Unintended deleterious societal effects arising from social system restructuring, are a phenomenon not unique to healthcare, nor to Quebec. It may take years for these consequences to become manifest, by which time they may prove difficult to reverse.

It is the position of this paper that the availability of In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment clinics in Nigeria‟s healthcare system has moral implications which are as yet not fully considered nor critically understudied. The paper argues that the availability of such procedures ought to be properly considered and the many ramifications it may have to individuals as well as to national values be comprehensively examined at this early stage before it becomes widespread so as to preserve both our national values and the good of the individual citizen. It proceeds by identifying the need for Nigeria as a country to dedicate resources for research based innovations; it also examines the practice of IVF in Nigeria highlighting history, procedure and accessibility. The paper then proceeds to discuss some challenges of IVF in Nigeria before arguing that there are moral objections to IVF that call for national discussion at an early stage. It concludes that IVF has the potential to change the values of Nigerians and it would be wise if these values change consciously rather than unconsciously

Eddic poetry constitutes one of the most important genres in Old Norse or Scandinavian literature and has been studied since the earliest time of modern-day philology. The progress we have made in that field is impressive, considering the many excellent editions and translations, not to mention the countless critical studies in monographs and articles. Nevertheless, there is always a great need to revisit, to summarize, to review, and to digest the knowledge gained so far. The present handbook intends to address all those goals and does so, to spell it out right away, exceedingly well. But in contrast to traditional concepts, the individual contributions constitute fully developed critical article, each with a specialized topic elucidating it as comprehensively as possible, and concluding with a section of notes. Those are kept very brief, but the volume rounds it all off with an inclusive, comprehensive bibliography. And there is also a very useful index at the end. At the beginning, we find, following the table of contents, a list of the contributors, unfortunately without emails, a list of translations and abbreviations of the titles of Eddic poems in the Codex Regius and then elsewhere, and a very insightful and pleasant introduction by Carolyne Larrington. She briefly introduces the genre and then summarizes the essential points made by the individual authors. The entire volume is based on the Eddic Network established by the three editors in 2012, and on two workshops held at St. John’s College, Oxford in 2013 and 2014.

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia is the collective name for different types of leukemias of myeloid origin affecting blood and bone marrow. The overproduction of immature myeloblasts (white blood cells) is the characteristic feature of AML, thus flooding the bone marrow and reducing its capacity to produce normal blood cells. USFDA on August 1, 2017, approved a drug named Enasidenib formerly known as AG-221 which is being marketed under the name Idhifa to treat R/R AML with IDH2 mutation. The present review depicts the broad profile of enasidenib including various aspects of chemistry, preclinical, clinical studies, pharmacokinetics, mode of action and toxicity studies. Methods: Various reports and research articles have been referred to summarize different aspects related to chemistry and pharmacokinetics of enasidenib. Clinical data was collected from various recently published clinical reports including clinical trial outcomes. Result: The various findings of enasidenib revealed that it has been designed to allosterically inhibit mutated IDH2 to treat R/R AML patients. It has also presented good safety and efficacy profile along with 9.3 months overall survival rates of patients in which disease has relapsed. The drug is still under study either in combination or solely to treat hematological malignancies. Molecular modeling studies revealed that enasidenib binds to its target through hydrophobic interaction and hydrogen bonding inside the binding pocket. Enasidenib is found to be associated with certain adverse effects like elevated bilirubin level, diarrhea, differentiation syndrome, decreased potassium and calcium levels, etc. Conclusion: Enasidenib or AG-221was introduced by FDA as an anticancer agent which was developed as a first in class, a selective allosteric inhibitor of the tumor target i.e. IDH2 for Relapsed or Refractory AML. Phase 1/2 clinical trial of Enasidenib resulted in the overall survival rate of 40.3% with CR of 19.3%. Phase III trial on the Enasidenib is still under process along with another trial to test its potency against other cell lines. Edasidenib is associated with certain adverse effects, which can be reduced by investigators by designing its newer derivatives on the basis of SAR studies. Hence, it may come in the light as a potent lead entity for anticancer treatment in the coming years.
