In recent times the issues of good governance have received wide attention from the policymakers, researchers and the international donor agencies. The existence of the Ombudsman promotes good governance around the world by ensuring administrative accountability and transparency. The necessity for the office of Ombudsman has been felt in Bangladesh ever since its independence. Our constitution makers incorporated provision for Ombudsman in article 77 of the constitution of 1972. In 1980, the parliament in Bangladesh passed the Ombudsman Act in pursuance of article 77 of the constitution. The office, however, has not yet been established and the provisions of the act have remained as dead letters. As a result, we have so far from the good governance in public administration. This paper provides an analytical overview of the Ombudsman institution as a mechanism of good governance in Bangladesh.

Work is an essential aspect of life; it provides a sense of accomplishment, identification, and means of income to fulfill the basic requirements. Due to the development of technology, the number of women workforces and dual-earner families, it is important for both employers and workers to balance both professional and personal life. This study examines the effectiveness of the work-life Balance of bank employees and its impact on employee retention in the selected banks in Sivakasi, Virudhunagar district. This paper also identifies the various work-life balance initiatives taken by the banks to reduce employee turnover and to enhance employee job satisfaction. A sample of 245 respondents was randomly selected to participate in the study. A well-structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The findings revealed that the work-life balance has a direct impact on employee’s retention and it also helps to improve the employee’s job satisfaction.

The positive psychological response to a stressor, by the occurrence of certain psychological conditions, is known as eustress. Many psychological studies suggest that the eustress can aid the person to stay motivated and achieve the goal without any psychological draining. In the present study, mediating effect of eustress on personal and organisational factors of public sector banks’ employees is investigated. Nearly 600 respondents from different banks in South India were selected randomly and the data are collected through the questionnaires. The collected data were used to analyse the formulated hypothesis. The research establishes that the relationship between individual and organisational factors and work-life balance is positive and gets enhanced and strengthened by eustress in the public banking sector.

The aim of this study is to identify the influence of perceived organizational support on work-life balance of women employees in banking sector in Padang city. Sample is chosen by using purposive technique with some criteria namely married woman employees and have been employed for 5 or more years. The number of sample was 97. The data used are the primary data that collected through a questionnaire. The resulting data will be analyzed using regression analysis by SPSS. The research shows that, Perceived Organizational Support (POS) has positive and significant influence on female employees work-life balance in banking sector in Padang City.

Human resources are the main capital to achieve company’s goals in hospitality industry. One important thing that company should consider in maintaining employee performance is a job satisfaction. Employee that does not have a job satisfaction while working will gradually decrease the employee performance. Many factors influence job satisfaction one of them is work life balance. The low work life balance resulted a low job satisfaction. This research aims at investigating the influence of work life balance on employee job satisfaction to housekeeping employee at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa. Respondents in this research were 35 housekeeping employees with saturated sampling. The data collection was done by distributing the questionnaire using a Likert scale that use 5 points to measure 30 item statements. The data analysis techniques used was simple linear regression, t-test, and determination coefficient test which was assisted by SPSS version 23 for Windows. The results of this research indicated that work life balance (X) partially has a positive and significant effect on housekeeping employee job satisfaction (Y) at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa with a value of tcount > ttable = 9,840 > 2,032. Work life balance contributes to influence Employee job satisfaction of 74,6% in strong catagories, while the remaining 25,4% is influenced by other factors outside of this research. This research is expected to be used as a consideration to pay more attention of employee work life balance to increase employee job satisfaction.

In the present scenario, work life balance for women employees is highly desirable and if there is no job satisfaction and consistency in life, it can create a dilemma for working women. Work life balance requires attaining equilibrium between professional work and personal work, so that it reduces friction between official and domestic life. The ultimate performance of any organization depends on the performance of its employees, which in turn depends on numerous factors. These factors can be related to job satisfaction or family or both. A comparative study is conducted among the working women of some Govt. colleges and national institutes of Bhopal in education sector and nationalized banks, running their in Bhopal (M.P.) for banking sector. The objective of this research is to study the working environment and women‟s perception about the work life balance and job satisfaction, who are working in banking and education sector. Apart from it, another significant objective is to study effects of work life balance on job satisfaction and initiatives taken by the organizations for effective work life balance and its relation with the job satisfaction. Standard Deviation is applied in this paper to check the authenticity of data given by the respondents of both the sectors. Finding suggests that WLB can be achieved by the factors responsible for job satisfaction such as: supportive colleagues, supportive working conditions, mentally challenging work, equitable rewards and employee oriented policies etc.
