The growing market demand for medical tourism has triggered intense competition among the medical tourism industry players. Word-of-mouth has been recognised as one of the key acquisition channels among the thoughtful marketing tactics to attract medical tourists. The purpose of this study is to gain insight on the relationship between medical service quality, perceived value, and satisfaction on word-ofmouth generation in a medical tourism setting. A quantitative survey was conducted to collect the data. The data collected was analysed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicated that medical service quality is positively associated with perceived value, which in turn, affects satisfaction. However, perceived value and satisfaction are not positively related to wordof-mouth generation. The availability of resources, patient cooperation and collaboration among service providers do affect the outcomes of word-of- mouth generation. It is implied that effort must be directed by the healthcare institutions to enrich the value and satisfaction of medical services. Hospital management should emphasise the service quality and raise it to a high level in order to increase recommendation.

Abstract This study is aimed at investigating the direct relationships between service quality dimensions with perceived value and the destination loyalty, in addition to examining the mediating effect of perceived value. Using data from 508 international tourists visiting UAE and applying structural equation modeling we found the following. First, we found a significant and positive relationship between the five dimensions of service quality and perceived value. Second, we found direct, a positive and significant relationship between four service quality dimensions and destination loyalty. In addition, there exists a mediating effect of perceived value on the relationship between all the dimension of service quality and destination loyalty. The relationships of all the service quality dimensions are partially mediated except tangible facilities dimension which is fully mediated by perceived value. The study recommended that destination managers should focus on what make the tourists feel that the value they received is equal or more than what they expected to create positive tourist loyalty behaviour and enhance destination attractiveness. Thus, high level of perceived value service quality provided can be achieved if government and managers fully understand the key importance of providing quality service and continues evaluating and enhancing the quality of service provided. <p><em>Hotels are an element of the tourism industry and play a very important role in providing services to tourists. Each hotel tries to improve its facilities and service quality. If consumers enjoy services that are much lower than they expected, consumers will lose interest in these service providers, and the hotel will eventually lose customers. Conversely, if consumers enjoy services higher than their expectations, then consumers will feel satisfied. Based on the research background, the questions that arise in this study are which factors have the most influence on customer satisfaction on the service quality of the Golden Tulip Hotel Tangerang, and what factors have the greatest influence on customer service expectations of the Golden Tulip Hotel Tangerang. The research model developed in this study consists of four dimensions, namely service quality, consumer expectations, and customer satisfaction, with two hypotheses to be tested. The test was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis tool in the LISREL program on 100 respondents who were consumers of the Golden Tulip Hotel Tangerang. The results of data analysis indicate that the two proposed hypotheses are acceptable, and it can be concluded that service quality has a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and consumer expectations have a positive effect on customer satisfaction. This study also links the research results with the theoretical implications and policies of the Golden Tulip Hotel Tangerang management, which are described in the conclusion section. Research limitations and future research agendas can be used as a reference for future researchers.</em></p><p><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong><em>: service quality, customer expectations, customer satisfaction</em></p>

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the combined effect of airline service quality (ASQ), loyalty programme and perceived value (PV) on word-of-mouth (WOM) behavior of passengers’ traveling to domestic and international destinations from India. Design/methodology/approach Passenger’s perception on service quality, loyalty programme and PV varies with flight type, which can affect WOM. This study was designed to know whether destination based difference in passengers’ perception on airline services affects their WOM. Hence, a sample of 554 frequent passengers was taken, which includes 358 domestic and 196 international passengers. The responses were collected using well-structured questionnaire. The hypothetical model was developed and tested using structural equation modeling using analysis of a moment structures (AMOS). Findings Travel destination (flight) type moderates significantly the effect of ASQ on WOM behavior. ASQ affects WOM behavior more in domestic passengers. PV and loyalty programme do not moderate significantly with respect to destination type. PV was found to have significant influence on international passengers. However, loyalty programme was significant among domestic passengers. Practical implications Airline managers can develop appropriate marketing strategies targeting the passenger influencing attributes. ASQ is the most significant attribute applicable to both flight types. The airlines can focus on attractive ticket fares for international passengers and more loyalty programme benefits for domestic passengers. Originality/value This study examined the combined effect of ASQ, loyalty programme and PV on WOM behavior of passengers traveling in domestic and international sectors, which has not been researched yet.

PurposeThe objective of this paper is to understand the relationships between service quality, perceived value and satisfaction because several studies endeavored to model these linkages. It is important to test these relationships with loyalty and word-of-mouth (WOM). Thus, it is important to test these relationships in the insurance sector since the relationship between these variables and WOM has not been studied in insurance.Design/methodology/approachThis investigation proposes a theoretical model tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). A questionnaire survey was developed to explore the relationships among service quality, perceived value, satisfaction, loyalty and WOM. For this study, 744 valid questionnaires were collected from a sample of Portuguese car insurance holders.FindingsThe results revealed that service quality has a direct relationship with perceived value and satisfaction. In turn, perceived value has a direct relationship with satisfaction. Perceived value and satisfaction influence loyalty and WOM. Finally, loyalty influences WOM.Originality/valueThis investigation examines the mediating role of perceived value and satisfaction in the relationship between service quality (facility and interactive) and loyalty and WOM in the insurance industry. It fills a gap in the literature by exploring the variables that lead to positive WOM in the insurance industry; the authors do not know any study that links these variables with WOM. Also, the relationship between loyalty and WOM has been poorly studied, although it is well known that in services, loyal customers speak well of the companies. Thus, the authors try to fill this gap in the academic literature by analyzing these relationships.

Purpose The medical tourism industry has become one of the most profitable industries around the world wherein most of the countries exploit every effort to attract medical tourists to take advantage of its medical care benefits. The purpose of this study is to explore the determinants of medical tourists’ perceived services and their satisfaction for medical care in hospitals. Design/methodology/approach The quantitative method was conducted to examine the three groups of foreign travellers such as medical tourists, expats and normative medial tourists’ perceived medical services quality and satisfaction. Data from a survey of 266 respondents were analyzed using the structural equation modelling technique. Findings The findings of this study provide evidence that hospital accessibility and interpersonal behaviour are the most critical constructs that influence medical tourists’ attributes. Additionally, medical costs and health-care technicality have a significant relationship with the perceived services of medical tourists. The study also demonstrated that medical tourists’ satisfaction highly attributed to their perceived services towards the quality of medical care they received and experienced in the hospitals. Practical implications The results have important implications for managerial considerations at hospitals. Hospital accessibility is a crucial dimension to be measured at hospitals when measuring service quality. Service providers need to be mindful that all aspects of medical services are essential and need to be delivered satisfactorily to ensure customer satisfaction. Patients’ perceived services and their satisfaction is a crucial bridge in determining the likelihood of future return among patients to the hospitals. Originality/value This study has managed to convincingly secure findings to provide useful information and understanding of the hospital accessibility and interpersonal manner of health-care professionals at hospitals in Malaysia. Particularly, when any hospital offers quality services, they must consider the reasonable medical expenses that can be affordable by the average people and update their medical equipment that are necessary for technical and diagnostic purposes. By ensuring these, they can attract the medical tourists.


In the recent era medical tourism has certain significance place in the tourism industry, In India now famous for low cost medical service with high quality medical treatment. The countries where medical tourism is being actively promoted include Greece, South Africa, Jordan, India, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. Recently, Indian healthcare sector shows huge advancements in fields such as technology, infrastructure, and manpower, catapulting India as one of the preferred medical destinations in the world and invariably paving path to an entirely new sector, the medical tourism industry. The medical tourism in India will touch the $8 billion mark by the end of 2020, the influx of the population that experiences a saving of close to 50 to 70 percent on medical tourism industry. Cost effectiveness is a major factor in India, because a patient can undergo any type of treatment at an extremely affordable cost without compromising the quality and other reason is of course the availability of medical visa without any hassle. The Indian government predicts that, India $17-billion-a-year healthcare industry could grow 13 per cent in each of the next six years, boosted by medical tourism, which industry watchers say is growing at 30 per cent annually. This study has been focused by the fully by secondary data, which are collected from the Indian tourism department, and also it analyze the growth percentage in Past years, it will be more helpful to medical service providers. Mainly this study’s objective was examining the foreign exchange earning option through medical tourism and analysis of annual growth of foreign tourist in India. It proves that the annual growth an efficiency of handling capacity of Indian medical the medical industry

Despite convention tourism is becoming an important segment of the tourism industry in many countries, the specific benefits that convention attendees see valuable when attending conventions are inconclusive. Based on the consumption values theory, this study considers the impacts of two types of value: perceived value and value of co-creation on convention attendees’ attitude formation. Derived from a sample of 434 convention attendees and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis, results indicate that value of co-creation, together with another two dimensions of perceived value, emotional value and functional value, have significant influences on convention attendees’ attitude towards the convention attended. Particularly, it was found that perceived value by itself had limited effects in contributing the positive attitude towards conventions in the contemporary business world as consumers today are increasingly prefer co-creation of value and collaboration with service providers. The study contributes to the convention tourism literature by being the first to incorporate both perceived value and value of co-creation within the same model and testing related hypotheses. The results may facilitate decision-making and strategic development of tourism-related investments among convention organisers, destination marketing organisations and government agencies, which can eventually strengthen a country’s competitive edge in attracting convention attendees.

Purpose Following promising growth of the international medical tourism industry, competitions within the global market have escalated tremendously with increased involvement by numerous healthcare providers to acquire a share of its disposable income. The brand reputation would hereby play a determining role as a competitive strategy. Specifically, this paper aims to investigate the impact of social and marketing aspects on the brand image of medical tourism-based hospitals, alongside its relationship toward service quality. In turn, the influence of perceived service quality on satisfaction and the perceived value was examined, in view of further potential behavioral intention among medical tourists on healthcare providers in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach The data were collected through a survey questionnaire among medical tourists, with 596 successful cases collected via 6 major private hospitals at 3 popular Malaysian medical tourism locations. Data analysis was then performed using both SPSS and Smart PLS software. Findings The findings from the present study acknowledged the importance of both social (e.g. social media and word-of-mouth communications) and marketing (e.g. hospital advertisement and price perception) aspects toward establishing brand image among medical tourism-based hospitals. Consequently, the brand image would influence perceived service quality among medical tourists; further entail positive impact on behavioral intention, with satisfaction and perceived value as mediators between both factors. Following PLS predict analysis confirming this model’s high predictive capability, it demonstrated close representation to actual medical tourism scenario in Malaysia. Originality/value This study is one of the very few studies that explored the minimally investigated territory on the consequential importance of hospital branding within the medical tourism industry; specifically through extending the literature on the influence of social and marketing efforts toward the formation of brand image.

Kepuasan dan loyalitas pelanggan merupakan salah satu hal yang harus diperhatikan oleh perusahaan agar perusahaannya dapat berlangsung dengan baik. Pada kasus pengguna flexi trendy wilayah Surabaya menunjukkan bahwa Customer Complain dan Perceived Value dikeluarkan dari model karena tidak mempunyai pengaruh baik secara langsung maupun secara tidak langsung, terhadap Loyalitas pengguna CDMA pra bayar Flexi Trendy. Pada modifikasi pertama, adanya pemberian konstrain pada variabel Quality Product dan Customer Satisfaction untuk menaikan nilai membuat nilai indeks koefisien regresi variabel Quality Product menjadi tidak signifikan, sehingga dibuat model modifikasi kedua dengan menghilangkan variabel Quality Product dan hasil yang diperoleh lebih baik dari model modifikasi pertama. Dari hasil analisis juga didapatkan bahwa loyalitas Customer tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh kepuasan Customer atau Customer Satisfaction sebesar 45%, namun Image merek perusahaan turut mempengaruhi langsung secara signifikan sebesar 36%. sedangkan Customer Satisfaction atau kepuasan Customer dipengaruhi secara langsung oleh dua faktor yaitu image perusahaan atau Brand Image sebesar 22%, dan kualitas Customer Service atau Customer Service Quality sebesar 61%. Analisis juga memperlihatkan bahwa Customer yang hanya sampai pada level puas menggunakan Flexi Trendy, Brand perusahaan hanya berpengaruh kecil pada mindset Customer yaitu hanya sbesar 22%, sedangkan jika Customer sudah loyal maka Brand perusahaan lebih banyak mempengaruhi sebanyak 36%, sehingga pihak TELKOM Flexi lebih baik memusatkan kegiatan pemasaran dan periklanan pada customer yang terkategori loyal, karena selain biaya yang lebih murah juga pemasaran melalui word-of-mouth menjadi lebih efisien.
