Analyzed garnets from the Magnet hill area near Tisovec (Slovak Republic) are part of a Ca-skarn mineral association consisting of diopside, clinochlore and calcite. Compositionally they correspond to Ti-rich andradite (Adr50.9-73.7) with minor grossular (Grs3.8-44.5) and schorlomite (Sch0.5-41.5) components. Garnets contain up to 13 wt. % TiO2 and in all of them YFe3+>YTi ratio prevails. Both sector and oscillatory chemical zoning were observed, which is primarily caused by variable distribution of Ti contents within individual garnet crystals. The three principal zones were distinguished in BSE imaging. The brightest are Ti-enriched zones with Ti content ranging from 0.85 to 0.50 apfu. Titanium gradually decreases in transitional zone (0.17 - 0.40 apfu) and reaches the minimum values in the dark zones (0.01 - 0.13 apfu). In the Ti-enriched zones the content of Si4+ and Al3+ is decreased due to substitution of Ti4+ and Fe3+ and assumed hydrogarnet substitution (SiO4)4- ↔ (O4H4)4-.

AbstractUltramafic to marie plutons in the Olyutor Range, North Kamchatka, represent the magmatic roots of a late Eocene arc, related to the westward subduction of the Komandorsky Basin beneath the Asian continental margin. Olyutor Range plutons are concentrically zoned with cumulate dunite cores mantled by a wehrlite-pyroxenite transitional zone and, in turn, by a narrow gabbroic rim.Spinel is a common accessory mineral in these arc plutonics, and we present analyses of spinels from a range of lithologies. A continuous compositional trend is observed from Cr-spinel in the ultramafics to Cr-rich magnetite in marginal gabbros. Complex chemical zoning patterns within individual spinel grains suggest an interplay between fO2, fractionation, volatile content and subsequent sub-solidus reequilibration of spinel with co-existing silicates (mainly olivine).In general, the spinels from magmatic arc environments are characterised by high total Fe and high Fe3+ contents compared to MORB and boninitic spinels and higher Cr-values relative to oceanic basin spinels. These differences imply a high oxygen fugacity during arc petrogenesis. Differences are also observed between plutonic spinels from arcs and low-Ti supra-subduction zone ophiolites. Low-Ti ophiolitic spinels are generally poorer in iron and richer in Cr, and hence are similar in composition and perhaps tectonic setting to fore-arc boninitic spinels.

The chemical composition of three samples of minerals of the hidalgoite-philipsbornite series from the central part of the Guatomo mine pit was studied in detail by EMPA-WDS. They form yellowish-green, light green to pale blue microcrystalline crusts or hollow pseudomorphs after prismatic hexagonal crystals of mimetite in fractures of strongly altered granite or quartz. All studied samples show relatively strong, irregular to oscillatory chemical zoning in BSE, caused by S versus As substitution on T-site. Most of the zones are corresponding to hidalgoite, with only minor, outer zones represented by S-rich philipsbornite. Besides of dominant contents of Pb, Al, As and S also minor amounts of K (up to 0.11 apfu), Na (up to 0.05 apfu), Cu (up to 0.22 apfu), Fe (up to 0.09 apfu) and P (up to 0.04 apfu) were detected in studied samples.

The exsolution of magnetite from a substituted Yttrium Iron Garnet, containing an iron excess may lead to a transitional event. This event is characterized hy the formation of a transitional zone at the center of which the magnetite nucleates (Fig.1). Since there is a contrast between the matrix and these zones and since selected area diffraction does not show any difference between those zones and the matrix in the reciprocal lattice, it is of interest to analyze the structure of the transitional zones.By using simultaneously different techniques in electron microscopy, (oscillating crystal method microdiffraction and X-ray microanalysis)one may resolve the ionic process corresponding to the transitional event and image this event subsequently by high resolution technique.

The work deals with implementation of electronic monitoring of sentenced persons in the Slovak Republic. It is divided into eight sections. The first section introduces restorative justice as a prerequisite of electronic monitoring in criminal proceedings. While the second section points out at the absence of legal regulation of electronic monitoring of sentenced persons at European level, the third section points out at recommendations of the Council of Europe addressed to European States. The fourth section analyses relevant alternative punishments in Slovak criminal justice. The fifth section introduces early beginnings of implementation of concerned system - the pilot project “Electronic Personnel Monitoring System” of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. While the sixth section is focused on Slovak national law regulating electronic monitoring of sentenced persons - the Act No. 78/2015 Coll. on Control of the Enforcement of Certain Decisions by Technical Instruments, the seventh section is focused on further amendments of Slovak national law - namely the Act No. 321/2018 Coll. and the Act No. 214/2019 Coll. The last eight section introduces costs of system implementation and its operation.
