Purpose: This study is on the interaction between corporate performance variables and Intellectual capital effectiveness of selected banks in Nigeria. Intellectual capital has been variously defined as knowledge capital employed in an organization to improve the value creation ability of the organization. It has attracted the attention of researchers especially in developed economies.Methodology: The study adopted ex-post-facto research design on a time series data spanning 10 years (2006-2015). The sampling technique was purposive sampling and data were drawn from the financial statements of the selected banks. Ordinary Least Square regression analysis was employed to test each of the three (3) hypotheses, at 5% level of significance. Results: The results indicated that; intellectual capital contributes positively to asset quality of banks; there is no significant positive effect of intellectual capital on loan quality; there is a significant positive effect of intellectual capital on net income of the banks.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The study recommended that banks should take inventory of her portfolio (assets) so as to identify those of them that are no longer useful and also employ qualified, experienced and trained staff to add value to her intellectu1resources.

This study aims to see the effect of population dynamics variables on economic growth in Indonesia. This study uses the Ordinary Least Square model with time series data from 1986 to 2016. The data used are population dynamics variables, such as number of fertilities, infant mortality, with the variable control are the amount of labor, savings and government expenditure on economic growth measured through Gross Domestic Product. The results os the study showed that the fertility amount in Indonesia has a negative effect on the amount of economic growth in Indonesia, which means that increasing population will reduce economic growth in Indonesia. then, variable infant mortality has a negative influence on economic growth in Indonesia. Fertility variables and the population of productive age have a positive effect on labor force participation rates. Control variables, like savings and government expenditure, also have a positive effect on economic growth in Indonesia.

The implementation of regional autonomy indirectly requires regions to be independent, the level of independency in Central Java which is measured by the ratio of Local Own-source Revenue to total regional revenue of 18.2%, which is the lowest compared to other regions in Java in the 2015-2018 period. Central Java's low independency is in line with its dependency on transfers from the central government, particularly the general allocation fund of 40%. Low independency and high dependency is due to the lack of ability of Local Own-source Revenue to meet regional expenditures and the large role of general allocation fund in meeting these shortages. This study aims to analyze the effect of general allocation funds and local own-source revenue on regional expenditures. This study uses a quantitative method with panel data combination of cross-section data from 35 districts/cities in Central Java Province and time-series data for the period 2016-2018. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the general allocation fund has a significant and more dominant positive effect on regional expenditures and also local own-source revenue shows a significant positive effect on regional expenditures, which means that the greater the value of local own-source revenue and general allocation fund, the greater the value of regional expenditures. Simultaneously, general allocation funds and local own-source revenue have a significant positive effect on regional expenditures.

The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. The total sample of 120 respondents in Jakarta was obtained through the distribution of online questionnaires. The data analysis method used in this study is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that brand image and security are the antecedents of trust which have a significant positive effect on trust. The results show that perceived risk is the antecedent of trust which has a significant negative effect on trust. The results also show that consumer trust has a significant positive effect on online purchase decision. KEYWORDS: trust, antecedents, purchase decision, partial least square

The population of the research is the manufacturing of sub- food and beverage industries listed in 2015-2019 consisted of 20 companies. This study has 12 companies as sample that chosen based on the purposive sampling method. Partial Least Square (PLS) as alternative of SEM and as data analysis technique using SmartPLS 3.3 application. The results of this study indicate that partially VAHU and STVA have a significant positive effect on financial performance. Meanwhile, VACA has no significant positive effect on financial performance. Simultaneously VAHU, STVA, and VACA have significant positive effect on financial performance. On the other side partially and simultaneously VAHU, STVA, and VACA have no directly significant positive effect on company value. But through financial performance.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the first time ever the effects of overall terms of trade, bilateral terms of trade and main commodity groups’ terms of trade on economic growth. Design/methodology/approach Augmented Dickey Duller and Philips Perron unit root tests and Johensan cointegration test have been applied by using annual time series data from 1974 to 2017. Dynamic ordinary least square and fully modified ordinary least square have also been used to perform sensitivity analysis. Findings The cointegration test confirm the positive long-run relationship between overall terms of trade (ToT) and economic growth. Country-wise results show that ToT with Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, UK and the USA have significant positive effect on economic growth. Conversely, ToT with China and UAE has significant negative effect on economic growth. In contrast, ToT with India, Norway, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland has insignificant effect on the economic growth of Pakistan. Product-wise results indicate that the product group namely, Chemical, Crude Material inedible except fuels, Manufactured and Minerals fuels and Lubricant found to be a significant positive effect on economic growth. However, Beverages and Tobacco, and Machinery and Transport product groups found to be significant negative impact on economic, while Food and Live animals found to be insignificant. Practical implications In general, it is suggested that the beneficial terms of trade are favorable for economic growth. The study suggested export promotion policy for which relationship between ToT and economic growth found positive and import substitution policy is suggested the products found a negative relationship between the said variables. Originality/value This paper is a pioneer attempt to investigate the effect of overall ToT, bilateral terms of trade and the main commodity group’s ToT on economic growth in Pakistan.

This study aims to find out, test and analyze: (a) the effect of transparencyon muzaki beliefs; (b) the effect of transparency on muzaki loyalty; (c) theeffect of accountability on muzaki’s trust; (d) the effect of accountabilityon muzaki loyalty; (e) the effect of trust on muzaki loyalty in paying zakat, infaq, and almsgiving at the Amil Zakat Institution in Indonesia. This type ofresearch is explanatory research and using survey method. Data collectiontechnique used was questionnaire containing written questions answeredby respondents, namely muzaki (payer of zakat, infaq and sadaqah) at amilzakat institutions. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, which set the samples based on criteria. The data analysis technique inthis study used the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. PLS is a modelof Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on components or variants. The results of the study found that (a) accountability has a significantpositive effect on muzaki’s trust; (b) transparency has a significant positiveeffect on muzaki’s trust; (c) accountability has a significant positive effecton muzaki loyalty; (d) transparency has a significant positive effect onmuzaki loyalty; (e) trust has a significant positive effect on muzaki loyaltyin paying zakat, infaq, and almsgiving at the Amil Zakat Institutionin Indonesia. The results of this study suggest that zakat managementorganizations increase the loyalty of donors in paying zakat by increasingdonor’s trust by improving transparency and accountability of auditedfinancial reports and in accordance with PSAK 109.
